Before she could think further, she noticed he had already raised his phone. Agnes quickly turned around and, before he pressed the shutter button, she flashed a smile! Click! Tom captured another candid photo. He had intended to take a more spontaneous shot, but it turned out to be quite beautiful!
“Not bad, your reaction is as quick as a rabbit,” Tom praised her. In the photo, the man’s large hand rested on the girl’s shoulder, making them look like a couple.
Agnes was quite happy. She laughed softly and then turned to look at him again. The girl’s cheeks were slightly flushed, perhaps from running a short distance earlier, and fine beads of sweat dotted her forehead.
“Let’s go, I’ll show you around some more.”
“Sure, thank you, Professor Fritz.”
Tom continued to show her around the campus for the entire afternoon, sharing amusing stories from his school days. Agnes listened attentively. She loved him and was interested in everything about him; she never felt bored. She remembered every word he said, every scene of the day, his tone and manner of speaking.
Their memories together were too few, so every second spent with him was precious to her. As evening approached, Tom asked her, “What do you want to eat?”
Agnes felt happy just being with him; even without eating anything, she felt content. She didn’t want to go back yet and felt that time was passing too quickly. She wished she could walk by the river with him, stroll under the sunset, see the city’s night view with him, and experience more together… so her memories would be fuller.
Collecting these moments was her happiness. But since he asked her, she had to give an answer.
So Agnes thought for a moment and asked back, “Is there a night market around here? Let’s go for a walk and grab something light to eat. It’s healthier to have a light dinner; I’m not really hungry right now. Is that okay?”
“Sure,” Tom agreed easily. As long as she was happy, he was willing to accompany her. Then he suggested, “Shall we go to a concert first? Are you interested?”
How romantic it would be to attend a concert!
“Yes!” The girl nodded enthusiastically, feeling an overwhelming sense of happiness.
Tom had lived here for several years before, so he was very familiar with everything here. Although it was Agnes’s first time visiting, being by his side gave her a full sense of security.
After the concert ended and they came outside, the sky was filled with stars. The summer night in the bay area was still very comfortable with a gentle breeze blowing softly.
Tom took a photo of her in front of the church. In the picture, the girl seemed to be bathed in holy light; it was as beautiful as a painting.
The girl smiled sweetly with playful and cute gestures while the church behind her shone brilliantly.
Wishing everyone good luck.
“Bubu, I suddenly remembered there’s a nice Singaporean restaurant nearby. Would you like to try it?” Tom had been thinking about where to take her for dinner.
Agnes didn’t hesitate for a moment. “Sure!” She was willing to follow his lead.
So Tom started walking with her ahead. “It’s not too far; let’s not take a cab and enjoy a walk under the moonlight.”
“Mm-hmm!” She liked this slow-paced life with him; every second was filled with happiness.
Because she loved him, she would occasionally turn to look at his handsome face. Every time she looked at him, her eyes were filled with deep affection.
After dinner, the night grew darker; it was already nine o’clock in the evening.
As they walked out of the restaurant, Agnes looked up and saw a sparkling Ferris wheel not far away and couldn’t help but exclaim, “How beautiful!”
Following her gaze, Tom saw the giant Ferris wheel slowly rotating and changing colors in a myriad of hues, adding a touch of romance to this beautiful night.
