“She even got engaged, didn’t you know about such a big event?” Before Agnes could explain, Spencer’s voice came from the other end of the phone, “As long as she’s safe, that’s all that matters. Don’t ask so many questions. She’ll come back when she’s done. It’s just a trip abroad, not to another planet.”
“Agnes isn’t like you; she’s never been abroad by herself.”
“I know you’re worried, but isn’t she fine now? Whether the plane flies domestically or internationally, it’s just a matter of time.” Spencer said, “Alright, alright, stop worrying.”
Listening to this, Agnes pursed her lips. Summer scolded her a bit more on the computer before hanging up.
Agnes finally breathed a sigh of relief. She had left in a hurry and felt sorry for worrying her family.
Putting down her phone in Mr. Kitten’s beloved study, she slowly looked around the room. Her gaze lingered on each book on the shelf, imagining him working late at his desk on some nights.
Agnes sat in his chair and turned on the computer he had prepared for her.
He had already downloaded drawing software for her, including one of her usual programs. It was quite convenient since all her previous drafts were accessible once she logged into her account.
After logging in, Agnes saw the cover of her created work “Mr. Kitten, You Are My Sweetheart Cookie.”
The recent events had been dramatic and had given her plenty of creative inspiration that she wanted to capture.
Her work was an expression of her feelings for him, a way to convey her emotions.
So when Agnes picked up the pen and started creating, she felt an immense sense of happiness and peace as her emotions were released.
Three hours quickly passed…
Tom came out of the lab as Jeffery arrived to pick him up as usual. The timing was perfect.
Sitting in the back seat, Tom exuded elegance and an extraordinary presence. He spoke little, appearing more composed.
Jeffery drove him to his apartment.
After some thought, Jeffery couldn’t help but say, “Tom, that young lady came all this way worried about you. Did you thank her or say something else?”
Tom looked at him. “Something else?” He realized he hadn’t thanked her.
Jeffery smiled and shared his experience as someone who had been through it before. “No matter how long you’ve been together, even if you got engaged quickly for your grandmother’s sake, you like this girl.”
Tom paused. “You noticed?”
“Look at how you treat Lisa,” Jeffery replied. “Do I need to see more? You brought her home to stay over and waited for her to wake up before leaving in the morning. Now you’re rushing back to be with her.”
“I finished my work and happened to have time,” Tom argued.
Jeffery was more direct. “Ask yourself if you like her. Don’t explain it to me. Besides, dating is normal these days; why avoid it?”
Yes, Jeffery had noticed his avoidance.
Tom fell silent… He seriously reflected and questioned his heart.
“Jeffery,” Tom finally spoke softly after a long pause with a hint of concern in his voice. “I’m twelve years older than her. Do you think… I have the right to love her?”
Jeffery laughed brightly. “When you ask that question, you’ve already fallen in love with her. If you’re in love, why care about age? What’s twelve years? There are couples with thirty years between them! I’ve seen plenty of examples; as long as it’s true love, you’ll definitely be happy!”
