Tom listened to these words with some skepticism but said nothing. He turned his gaze to the window. Jeffery, likely guessing what he was thinking, continued driving and couldn’t help but remind him, “If you like someone, you need to seize the moment. Don’t miss out. Sometimes people’s emotions are strange; if she gets tired, she might suddenly stop loving you in an instant.”
Tom snapped back to reality, looked at him gratefully, and said, “Thank you for telling me all this. I know what to do now.”
Jeffery smiled, “Do you need the car this afternoon?”
“No, we’ll take a cab. You can have a good rest.” Tom replied.
Jeffery knew this would be more convenient for them. “Alright! Then I’ll go back and catch up on some sleep!” He finally felt at ease.
Soon, the car stopped in front of the apartment building. Tom said goodbye to Jeffery and then got out of the car and entered the building.
Taking the elevator upstairs, when Tom opened the door and walked in, Mrs. Brown told him, “Tom, Agnes is in the study.”
“Okay.” Tom took off his suit jacket and hung it up, then gently pushed open the slightly ajar study door.
He saw the girl sitting at his desk with her computer open. Her fingers were on the mouse, and she was intently looking at the screen.
Seeing him return, she didn’t have time to close the computer. Tom walked over to her side, “Drawing?”
“You’re back?” The girl blushed a little when she looked at the screen because the elegant man in the comic looked just like him.
Tom noticed it too. He also saw the title of the document and read it out softly, “Mr. Kitten, you’re my sweet cookie?”
Agnes squinted her eyes slightly and smiled shyly, “I’ve turned our little moments into a comic along with some of my emotions. This… isn’t considered infringement, right?”
Tom looked down at her and smiled, “Will it be published?”
“I’m planning on a physical publication,” she answered truthfully.
“Then… make sure to inform me about the book signing event. I want to buy the first signed copy,” Tom said gently without mocking her childish behavior.
This made the previously nervous girl smile, “Not just the first signed copy; I’m willing to share half of my royalties with you.”
Tom replied to her, “That’s not necessary. Just treat me to a meal since I’m your little source of inspiration.”
“No problem.” The girl agreed readily. She closed her computer and stood up to ask, “Have you finished your work?”
“Yes,” Tom told her. “Since I’m finally here, I plan to take you out for a walk. Interested?”
Of course she was interested!
The girl gave him a sweet smile, recalling his spontaneous forehead kiss this morning. Looking into his deep eyes now, she thought he must like her too.
After all, eyes are windows to the soul.
“Shall we go then?” The girl playfully tilted her head. With love in her heart and light in her eyes, she felt extremely happy at this moment.
Tom was also infected by her pure smile and curved his lips into a beautiful arc before turning around and stepping forward.
Agnes happily followed him out of the study. Tom greeted Mrs. Brown and told her they wouldn’t be back for lunch before taking Agnes out together.
“Where do you want to go most?” In the elevator, Tom sought her opinion. “Have you made any plans?”
The girl turned to look at him. “I want to visit your university if that’s convenient?” She wanted to retrace his steps and see the sights he had seen before.
