In this world, every “What are you doing?” actually means “I miss you…”
She checked her phone countless times every day, hoping for his message, worrying about him, and thinking about him.
Half an hour passed, and Tom had not replied.
She was used to this kind of treatment, put down her phone, and focused on her work… only when she was particularly busy could she briefly forget him.
Abroad, in the research institute.
Tom Fritz came out of the lab, holding a document in his hand, reading it as he walked. He was indeed very busy.
Two students followed him, asking Tom questions, which he patiently answered… he was really professional.
After solving the students’ doubts, he went downstairs and finally had a moment to check his phone. He saw Agnes’s message two hours later.
Kitten, what are you doing?
Seeing these words, a slight smile appeared on the man’s lips. He replied: Just left the lab, heading back to the apartment to rest.
When Agnes received Tom’s message, she was in a meeting at the office. Her phone was on vibrate, but she had been waiting for his message and kept an eye on her phone.
Seeing his profile picture made her heart warm. She quickly picked up her phone.
When she saw his message, her heart filled with happiness and joy. She then asked him: Have you been busy all these years? Have you rested well?
He quickly replied: Busy, but I have rested.
As they chatted, Tom Fritz walked out of the research institute with his phone in hand. Jeffery was already waiting in the car.
Tom walked towards the car but before he could greet Jeffery, Lisa appeared out of nowhere with a thermos bowl in hand. She smiled brightly as she approached him, blocking his path.
“Tom! I made soup for you. You’ve been working so hard these days; you should take good care of yourself!” The girl held the bag out in front of him.
This scene was captured by a photographer hiding not far away. He took pictures from an angle that made it look like there was an intimate relationship between the two, especially with the girl’s happy smile.
Tom Fritz kept a cold expression and walked towards the car. Jeffery had already opened the door for him. He bent down and got into the car.
Jeffery closed the door for him and glanced at the girl left standing there before returning to the driver’s seat and driving away quickly.
Lisa didn’t seem upset at all. She smiled as she retracted her hand and watched the car leave.
Inside the departing car,
Tom glanced at the man in the back seat through the rearview mirror while driving. “This Lisa is really persistent.”
“She’s foolish,” Tom said with a slight movement of his thin lips. “Meaningless entanglement only wastes time.”
He turned his gaze to look out the window, Agnes’s lovely image flashing through his mind. He wondered what she was doing.
He picked up his phone again and saw another message from her.
Tom Fritz gradually realized that he might like her… but being so far away now, he couldn’t give her anything, so he didn’t make any promises lightly.
But during his free time, chatting with her like this was quite nice for him too.
In a small teahouse,
When Lisa received these photos, she was very satisfied. She looked through them one by one, her smile growing brighter with each one.
Then she handed a card to the photographer. “Your payment.”
Leaving the teahouse, she booked a flight to Arkpool City.
