“Earlier at the company, Johnny discovered this matter. He was in such a hurry to tell you that he must not have seen the car, which caused the accident! I was afraid the Chow family would blame me, so I didn’t dare to tell them.”
Ulric wouldn’t have believed a word of it, but he suddenly remembered Johnny’s last sentence on the phone.
He really seemed to want to tell him something about Sirena.
But to say the child was hers, that was somewhat absurd!
“Sirena, I don’t touch you only because of my mother,” he said, not out of any friendship or affection.
At this point, Sirena could only steel herself. “I’m not lying to you. If you don’t believe me, you can do a DNA test! This idea came from your parents. They were afraid you would never accept me and also feared the Walters family would have no heir, so they secretly took your and my samples for surrogacy.”
Now that Johnny couldn’t speak and there were only a few people who had contact with Jake, wasn’t it up to her to make up the story?
Ulric furrowed his thick brows and pressed his lips together in silence.
Seeing his expression, Sirena decided to go all in. “Do you think Rosalind gave birth to your child? Are you still thinking about Rosalind? She is now happily with Malcolm, always together. How could she have given birth to your child! Only I am foolish enough to give up everything for you, even if your heart is not with me, I still love you!”
“Enough.” Ulric naturally wouldn’t easily believe such words. “You better think about how to explain this to the Chow family.”
Seeing him turn his face away and no longer look at her, Sirena felt both frustrated and anxious.
Now she could only ask Audrey for help again. After all, to deceive Ulric with such a huge lie, his parents had to be involved.

It wasn’t until the next morning that Johnny’s surgery was completed.
The Chow family parents were still abroad on vacation and hadn’t arrived yet, so Ulric waited at the door.

“You mean, he might become a vegetative state?!”

Ulric took a deep breath, his thick brows tightly knitted.
He had expected serious injuries but hadn’t thought it would be this severe!
Worried that the little one at home might be scared alone, after confirming with the doctor that he couldn’t enter the ICU to see Johnny at the moment, Ulric drove back to Easthaven Bay.
He thought Jake would still be asleep, but when he opened the door, he saw Jake standing in the hallway looking at him.
“Uncle Chow, is he okay?”
Ulric was hit hard by emotions and bit his lip to hold back his feelings, unwilling to face his son with red eyes.
Johnny had been his brother for many years. Although often unreliable… he had always been there for W Group and himself!
“He’s fine, just asleep.”
“Really?” Jake clearly sensed something was off about Ulric’s emotions. After thinking for a moment, he stepped forward and held Ulric’s hand. “My mommy used to say that when she was unhappy if she held my hand everything would go smoothly. So hold my hand more and let Uncle Chow get better.”
