Chapter 391: Sirena, You Deceived Me Again

“…”
How could Johnny not know? This was a certainty.
If Jake wasn’t Ulric’s child, then something supernatural must have happened!
But…
“Have you thought about how to investigate this child’s mother?”
They couldn’t just take in a child with an unknown background into the Walters family. The appearance of this child would affect many things, not just the issue of a child.
Ulric clearly wouldn’t let it go either. He wanted to investigate but didn’t want to rush it.
“This child seems somewhat hostile towards me. I think instead of investigating, it would be better to let him tell me directly.”
Johnny pointed at Jake. “Ha? He claims to know nothing. What can he tell you?”
“Do you believe he knows nothing?”
“…” Of course not.
Johnny even suspected that this child’s intelligence might be higher than his own! Claiming to know nothing was just an excuse not to speak.
After bringing Jake back, Johnny took them all the way to Easthaven Bay before reluctantly leaving.
Of course, Jake hadn’t forgotten about giving him the number he promised. Naturally, he gave it to Johnny.
After returning to the W Group office, Johnny intended to handle company matters first, but his mind wasn’t on work. He pushed the keyboard aside and wrote the number on a piece of paper.
This number… he hadn’t seen it before.
Johnny had input it into his phone, but there was no match.
He even compared it with Sirena’s number immediately upon receiving it. When he saw it wasn’t her number, he breathed a sigh of relief.
It was best if it wasn’t Sirena. He didn’t want to admit that he once liked such a ruthless woman.
“Knock knock-”
Suddenly, someone knocked on the office door.
Johnny looked up. It was the person he had sent out earlier to find Jake.
“Mr. Chow, do we need to continue searching?”
“No need, the person has been found.” Johnny paused and then handed over the number. “Investigate this number for me and see who is using it!”
“Yes, Mr. Chow.”
The person received the new order and left.
Johnny leaned back in his chair, looking at the number repeatedly. Suddenly, he had an idea!
He called his assistant in. “Lend me your phone.”
Johnny took the phone and tried dialing the number. Surprisingly, it connected!
After a few rings with no answer, it automatically disconnected.
This was within Johnny’s expectations, so he didn’t think much of it. But soon after, a text message arrived from that number.
[Is this your new number?]
Seeing a reply from the other side, Johnny immediately responded: [Yes, I have something to tell you. Answer the phone.]
He sent the message and before he could dial again, the call came through from that number.
As soon as Johnny pressed the answer button, a familiar voice came through…
“Is there any progress?”
That voice was unmistakably Sirena’s.
It was her!
Johnny couldn’t possibly be mistaken!
“What progress are you expecting?”
Johnny’s voice startled Sirena.
“It’s you! How did you get this number?!”
“Does that matter? Sirena, you deceived me again!”
He thought… he thought this time Sirena was truly innocent! He believed Sirena wouldn’t harm a child!
