Chris never expected that even in such dire circumstances, he could remain so audacious.
Did Chris truly believe he could take on the Four Paragons by himself?
“Chris, if you want to die so badly, we’ll grant your wish!”
“Kill him and bring his head to the prince as proof!”
With a furious roar, the Twins and Light Sin charged at Chris together.
On the wall above, an emaciated old man sat motionless, his eyes closed as if he were a monk deep in meditation.
As Light Sin and the others attacked, Chris’s face betrayed no fear.
Clenching his fists, he launched himself forward, taking on Light Sin and the Twins alone.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
The battle was intense, quickly escalating into a heated clash.
The Twins, each wielding razor-sharp daggers laced with poison, lunged repeatedly at Chris. A single cut would mean instant death.
But Chris was powerful. Even while fighting three opponents, he held his ground.
It became clear that if the battle continued like this, Light Sin and the others wouldn’t stand a chance of killing Chris.
Turning his head, Light Sin shouted, “Elderwood, come help us! The sooner we kill Chris, the sooner we can report back to the prince!”
Hearing this, the old man on the wall opened his eyes.
A terrifying light flashed from his gaze, cutting through the air like a blade.
In an instant, Elderwood joined the fray, his presence radiating an overwhelming killing intent that engulfed Chris.
Chris’s expression grew grim. Without hesitation, he clenched his fist and struck.
Boom!
A thunderous sound echoed as Chris was sent flying backward.
Lifting his head, Chris looked at Elderwood in disbelief.
Powerful.
Too powerful.
This Elderwood was the strongest opponent Chris had ever faced-stronger even than Lord Valerian.
Elderwood, too, seemed momentarily surprised. He hadn’t expected Chris to survive his full-force attack.
“So, this is the strength of a Primus,” Elderwood muttered, a hint of admiration flashing across his face.
“Kill!”
Without hesitation, Elderwood charged at Chris again.
For Elderwood, killing Chris was the key to his ambition. If Daniel Williams ascended to the throne, Elderwood would be crowned king. Chris had to die.
As Elderwood lunged, Chris stood up, his eyes filled with determination.
Suddenly, a gleaming battle blade appeared in Chris’s hand-a weapon passed down to him by Archer Wintersong: Dragon Slayer.
Boom!
Boom!
Boom!
With Dragon Slayer in hand, Chris met Elderwood head-on.
Elderwood was stunned.
“What kind of blade is this? Why is it so heavy?”
“Be careful!” Elderwood shouted to the others. “That weapon in Chris’s hand isn’t ordinary!”
Hearing Elderwood’s warning, Light Sin and the Twins turned their attention to the Dragon Slayer, their expressions filled with unease.
The blade was razor-sharp, capable of slicing through anything with ease. It was impossibly strong and indestructible.
What kind of weapon was this? How could it be so terrifying?
Elderwood, Light Sin, and the Twins teamed up, their combined efforts forcing Chris into a corner.
Chris was now at a disadvantage. If things continued, he wouldn’t hold out much longer.
Regret crept into Chris’s heart. He had underestimated the Four Paragons, but now he realized their terrifying reputation was well-deserved.
“Mr. Shelby, I’m here!”
A sudden shout broke through the chaos.
Seraphina appeared, wielding a military blade, charging into the fight.
She lived next door to Chris’s villa and, hearing the commotion, had rushed over without hesitation.
“Light, go deal with the woman!”
At Light Sin’s command, he broke away and clashed with Seraphina.
Seraphina, Archer Wintersong’s daughter and a Transcendence-level warrior, was no pushover.
The two quickly became locked in an intense battle.
Light Sin laughed mockingly. “Chris, so what if someone came to help you? A mere woman-do you think she can save you? I’ll tell you right now, you’re dead today!”
Chris snorted coldly but said nothing.
He knew his situation was dire, but defeating him wouldn’t be easy.
Suddenly, Elderwood lunged at Chris, his hand moving like lightning.
Chris dodged, but not fast enough-his sleeve was torn away, and his arm dripped with blood.
If Chris had been a moment slower, his entire arm would have been ripped off.
The sheer power of Elderwood was overwhelming. Chris estimated he was at the mid-stage of the Divine Transformation realm.
Clutching the Dragon Slayer tightly, Chris continued his desperate battle against Elderwood and the others.
Just as Chris was reaching his limit…
“Ahh!”
A piercing scream rang out as Light Sin was sent flying backward.
A black-clad figure had appeared in the courtyard.
The sudden arrival caused everyone to pause.
Clutching his chest, Light Sin glared at the newcomer. “Who are you? Why are you interfering?”
Chris stared at the man in shock.
It was none other than his longtime nemesis-Lord Valerian.
Chris hadn’t expected Lord Valerian to show up, let alone to step in and strike Light Sin.
Why would a man who wanted him dead suddenly help him?
Lord Valerian looked at Light Sin with disdain. “Chris is mine to kill. None of you can touch him.”
“What?”
Light Sin and the others were stunned.
They had thought Lord Valerian was here to help Chris, but now it seemed he wanted to kill Chris himself. What was going on?
Furious, Light Sin barked, “How dare you! Do you know who we are? We serve the prince. Leave now, or face the consequences!”
Lord Valerian’s expression remained cold. “I already told you-Chris is mine. None of you are allowed to kill him.”
Chris’s face turned strange.
Since when did he belong to Lord Valerian? The words sounded oddly… possessive.
“You arrogant fool!” Light Sin roared. “Let’s see if you’re as strong as your words!”
Without wasting time, Light Sin charged at Lord Valerian.
In an instant, the two clashed in a fierce battle.
With Lord Valerian joining the fight, the dynamic shifted dramatically.
Chris now only had to contend with Elderwood and Shadow, significantly easing his burden.
As Light Sin fought Lord Valerian, his expression grew serious.
He could sense it-Lord Valerian was undoubtedly a Paragon.
