Chapter 98
Seraphina’s pov
I thought things were going smoothly and according to the plan so that I could strike during the full moon but I had it all wrong. Nothing was moving in my favor nor moving according to the direction I wanted.
Alexander was so fucking distracted and becoming a shell of his own, it was as if his mood affected the activities of the pack making everyone and everywhere so ugly with sadness.
Ever since that bitch left the face of the earth, it was as if she stole the liveliness of the pack, though I still had some supporters. I still had the majority who wanted me to be their Luna but I’m afraid I’m slowly losing that support because their once sweet lovable Alpha was turning into a cold beast.
Before my death, Alexander was the sweetest thing to happen to me.
I knew I won the Jackpot because, even though I wasn’t a wolf or anything akin to that, he was ready to protect me and cover my shame.
He could die for me, that I knew of until the disease broke out and I got infected adding to my already terminal disease of the blood. I had no choice, I couldn’t fight death nor avoid it.
Alexander tried everything in his possible way to take it from me. I was sent to the best hospitals around the world to make sure I was fine but it was fruitless.
All I knew was the fact that I saw darkness for a very long time and the next thing, I saw light which confused me.
What followed next was me being at the mercy of a very powerful person who was seeking revenge on the Wilsons, using me as a pawn to carry out all her tasks.
I walked towards the room where he stays and searched for him but he wasn’t there which made me feel a huge lump in my throat.
He would be in her room, he had been doing that since Lilia left. He had been basking in her scent and staying in her room all the damn time and abandoning his abode.
It was directly adjacent to his room and I felt pissed. Alex never made my room directly opposite his room like this.
I entered and there he was, drinking and facing the window, looking like a lonely dove that was covered in shadows of darkness.
Lex was sexy as hell. Nothing sweeter than that could be used to describe this man’s beau and charisma, despite not doing anything, his veins were visible through the fingers he used in holding the cup, his hair across his perfect golden eyes and his tall lean frame was a model physique. It got worse for me that part of his chest was revealing and my mouth watered.
“Don’t come in here again, if I don’t invite you.” He didn’t sound harsh, just plain.
Always plain to me, always formal, and trying to make sure I was fine when I wanted more than that.
“I’ve spoken to your Aunts and uncles and they are willing to take you back, I could buy a bigger house for you and your brother if you don’t feel comfortable staying with your relatives.” He suddenly dropped a bombshell that made me shiver.
“Alex?”
“What? If you don’t want that, fine! I’ll get a duplex for you around the Private royal borders instead.”
“I don’t want any of that!” I yelled as my tone faltered in fear. Was Alexander sending me away, when I thought he was fine to need me more at this lonely time of his life?
?”You can’t stay here Phina.” He gulped his drink and left the window, picking a necklace on the table to tuck it inside his pocket.
“Why? Am I taking Lilia’s space so much that you can’t breathe more than what it is? Is that why you haven’t glanced at me since the day I stepped into this pack?”
“Stop saying shit Seraphina!” He scoffed and raked his hair.
“Then tell me what to say, Alex, tell me because I’m tired of pretending about your attitude towards me lately, I’m tired of your denial, I’m tired of you not seeing me at all and letting me feel like a shaft when you’re all I could think about on that sick bed,” I yelled hotly with tears, venting out my emotions and pains towards him.
“I care about you Seraphina, you know I do…stop crying please..”He sounded worried but I wasn’t buying that shit from him.
“You care? What happened to love, our love Alex? I came for you but you already got married, I expected you to take me back without thinking but all you’ve done is humiliate me and toss me out like trash!! Was it all lies Alexander!! Did you ever love me in the past? If I never had issues with my health, would you have abandoned me this way and let me rot?” I screamed at him.
“I fucking loved you Seraphina!!” He yelled at me and my eyes widened.
“Loved?” I quake terribly.
“I do, I still do but not like Lilia. I can’t be with you because I’m over you thinking you were dead. Seeing you is the best thing in my life because I thought we could rekindle what we have but I didn’t see that happening, it’s her. I’m sorry but I can’t even think of seeing Lilia frown because I’ll go crazy!”
“Alex!!” I cried and he turned away from me, punching the wall hard.
“I’m your mate Alex!” I screamed.
“The bond isn’t there, Lilia is my mate. Can you try not to complicate things for us and understand this? I’m dying wilfully too, I think about you all the time and I know that lying to you is useless. We are not going to work because it’s not you here?” He pointed his chest at me and a painful reality struck me hard.
“You’ll always be my first Seraphina but Lilia is my last. Please understand that Phina.”
“Even when she’s dead?” He growled instantly and his eyes changed to a deadly one, the same deadly aura he had been passing to everyone for the past few days except his Beta. Sometimes, I’ll have to hide and watch him chuckle at things when he discusses with him in the office and I’ll swallow hard.
I love him too much no matter the mission at hand. Alex is my light and I can’t let him diminish because of some random bitch!
“She’s not dead! It’s not possible because I can feel it!”
“Is that why you stay in her room like it’s a habit, you refused my meals, detest my presence, and”
“Stop it Seraphina, I don’t do that on purpose.” He sighed.
“You’re hurting me, Alexander!” I sniffed and walked towards him to cup his face but he threw his face to the other side.
“You can’t even look at me anymore!” I broke down in a sob and he sighed, shaking his head and tucking my strands.
“I didn’t mean to hurt you please..”
I kissed him directly on the lips and he froze. “I love you, Alexander, I’ve always done that and you know what we shared was real.” He sighed and swallowed while I kissed his lips again more aggressively.
“I love you, baby..” I murmured through his lips and ravished him hungrily with hot caresses under his shirt and he cursed, pushing me to the wall to kiss me hard, ferociously and angrily and I moaned so loudly.
I was about to raise my legs to meet his torso when he suddenly pushed me off and glared at me in hot regret.
“Alex, wait!” I said breathlessly but he glared at me.
“Don’t ever kiss me again!” He was so pissed, Goddess… His eyes glowed gold!
“But the attraction is still there, you can’t even deny it!” I yelled and he shook his head.
” Never! For a moment, all I felt was her scent and I kissed back because I missed her! Stay the fuck away from me Seraphina!” He roared and my feet trembled making me fall to the ground and I watched him slam the door shut.
It was at that moment, that I knew I lost him and I didn’t know what I was supposed to do before the full moon. I was going to fail the mission and also lose for life.
I raked through some dresses in Lilia’s wardrobe, feeling extremely pissed as hell and throwing any clothes that seemed to fit me and it was perfect, no, too beautiful and classy with the latest designs which was way too much for the occasion I’m about to journey myself into.
But I couldn’t care less because the aim was to destroy this lovely piece of clothing. I stormed out of the mansion angrily and made my way out alone to White Falls village because if anyone found out I was in the witch’s lair then all hell of curiosity would break loose.
