Lilia’s pov
My blood ran cold at his words and my wolf cowered, he wasn’t bluffing when he said those words. It was a fact that made me gulped and I averted my eyes away from him.
“I came here to see things for myself and to understand why my son would suddenly fire Brickwood from his position but it seems he’s still in New York.”
“With all due respect Alpha Wilson, I don’t think that it’s proper to dismiss my father like that and watched her go Scot free!” Isabella chirped, her red lips moved with disdain and she eyed me with contempt.
“She’s under a serious Test, your father would settle that with my son. Alexander is the Alpha of Midnight Shade and not I. When he comes, schedule a meeting with him and talk to him.”
He said calmly to her and there might be some sense of familiarity amongst themselves because Isabella’s tone was way too insulting which pissed me off.
“Even when he tried to kill me at the office? I was struggling with death under the claws of his hands Alpha, I know you don’t want to believe it but believe me when I say this lady possessed him with some strange powers, that would be the first time I will witness such a scene.”
Isabella didn’t bother to breathe while taking, her words were like energizer to Alveria who kept nodding in agreement and the man seemed confused for a while.
“Alexander Hurt you?” He asked in disbelief and Luna shifted uncomfortably from her chair.
“Yes! And he wasn’t in his right sense. That wasn’t the Alpha and it’s all thanks to this woman.” She pointed harshly at me and I bit my lips.
“She accused my father of laundering and he fired him without a second thought. This is not fair, I think he’s Manipulated Alpha, she’s a rogue and she’s not good for the Alpha. I won’t say it if I don’t care, I’ll do anything to see him happy that’s why I didn’t push more with the wedding plans. I let him be but after seeing this, she needs to be punished and exposed”
She cried out and if I didn’t know Isabella to be a cunning bitch, I would have believed her too. Well, it seems the Alpha got moved. His jaw tightened with confusion and he turned to Alveria Instantly.
“There’s only one place that’s deadly for the rogues.” He started and my heart pounded heavily in fear. Goodness! This man, why can’t you just let go and let me be with Alveria?
“Yes Alpha, I had initiated it but Alpha Alexander cut me off before I said it.”
Lex’s father stared at me for a while as If to have a second thought and I prayed so hard because I didn’t want to experience the dungeon of confinement again. It’s way too dark and deadly for my wolf to handle
I could die this time without surviving it.
“Take her to the Woods of Dark Wolves!” A sharp gasp echoed that my knee gave out. Yes! Alveria had to gasped out in shock before quickly masking he expression with a nod. Isabella smiled widely as if it was the final phase of death for me and realeased a sigh of relief and my wolf cowered in dread. I don’t know what or where the place is but it’s definitely not a good place.
My lips quivered but I surpressed it and played bold and when Lex’s mother stood, she called her husband.
“Don’t you think it’s way too much? She might be innocent of all this but you’re taking her to a place as dangerous as that Woods.” Her tone was scolding, she looked so beautiful. Her dark wavy hair cascaded down her back, wearing a red sequence gown that cascaded down her back. Her Sapphire eyes looks just like Raven’s as she stared at me with worry.
“Don’t interfere Hazel, I’m trying to protect our son. I can’t risk it. Lex is beginning to show a side that he’s not supposed to show since she came into his Life. The accusations are pointing raw facts to her personality. I don’t want to do this but to ease my sense of discomfort, I will. Besides, Delilah has always been right about issues like this.”
“But taking her to Woood if Wolves? She might die!” She raised her voice and he stared at his wife coldly, that didn’t look so nice.
“Don’t ever interfere me again with my authority. If she dies, she proved to it that she’s a rogue and if she doesn’t dies, then she’s free from the month’s test.” He retorted angrily and walked out leaving me and the rest of the beasts. Isabella has never been happy but she tried to compose herself not to look too excited in the presence of the woman who looked embarrassed at her husband words. She stared at Alveria and I saw a flash of irritation pass through her eyes but she was good with masking emotions.
Wait, does she dislikes Alveria too? What’s it with the ugly stare.
My head pounded in pain and my stomach tightened in pain. I didn’t know what I’m about to face but it’s going to be ugly. She came closer until we were inches close and I gasped in shock when she pulled me Into a warm hug.
“I’m sorry Lilia.” She whispered as if she was in tears and hugged me tightly ask sniffed. My lips shook as if I was struck with an electric shock and my body stiffened, why do I feel that she was telling me goodbye and there’s nothing she could do about it.
No, the bigger question is why does she care even when everything and everyone is against me like a rumpled clot of plaque?
“I hope you survive.” She whispered again and I nodded, I couldn’t help the tears that roll down my cheeks as I became extremely scared. it was choking.
‘What was this place? How deadly is it and what will I find there?’
These were the questions I wanted to ask her but she disentangled from the hug and acted as if she never cared or hugged me and walked out of my sight immediately.
I was left with Alveria, Isabella, Mr Brickwood and Mr Brixton who sat down like he never existed. He didn’t say a word even during the hot argument, he just sat there, calm, cool and calculated.
“Call the guards to take her away, she needs to leave immediately.” Brickwood said and Alveria shook her head, “I’ll take her there myself, she doesn’t deserve to walk with the royal guards ” She smiled and gestured to me to move.
“Finally, you will never see that light you wish to see. And In your next life, you will never become a rogue.” She spat out and I swallowed.
My only curse was leaving the school premises at night, my only curse was wishing to explore, my only curse was going out to look for my beast friend only to be cornered, pulled down to be raped by a random birthday motherfucker who wishes to tame his desires. Being a Betrothed to the Alpha, it’s a curse and it’s a law that can’t be revised and this is my fate, I really hope I survive it Lex because this is beginning to get too much for me.
