Contracted to the wrong Alpha
Chapter 51
Lilia’s Pov
I was nervous as hell and felt my blood pulsing like a panicked flood, making my heart skitter into a mess the moment I set my laptop to be connected to the projector.
I thought this was going to be easier than I thought, the same way it was so easy fetching out the loopholes connected to the company at the ignorance of Lex’s knowledge. I really needed the position of a Manager in such a big firm. I’ll learn a lot, direct, and realize my mistakes before I get my fashion house back and Implement the same idea in my company.
But Lex’s assuring gaze made me cool out and I switched from a nervous wreck to a badass Investigator, surprising Myself.
“I’ll start with the Financial department,” My voice was clear and the team in charge looked at me with a glaring face but I was done with letting their emotions affect me.
“For the last six months, an invisible flow of Income was being generated to a company that was nonexistent after researching my end, the transaction details stated that it’s an Insurance company for Lex’s Enterprise but I discovered that this enterprise already has about four legal and registered insurance companies over them.”
Lex sat up with sudden interest and uncuffed his cufflinks, his face was serious but eye candy, I was glad he was letting me do this. It’s a rare opportunity but I was going to show him how he was running on a loss.
“So the financial department has been sending cash transactions worth 500 thousand dollars monthly to the paper company.”
A loud grumble of disagreement was heard but I continued tapping on my laptop to display a receipt.
“The last transaction took place yesterday in the afternoon by 2:40 pm. I couldn’t trace this company but for this company to be nonexistent after so much research, I knew it belonged to a paper company.”
“So approximately, how much has been spent on this insurance company in the description?” Lex pinched the bridge of his nose and asked, his body swayed from the effect of the rolling chair and I didn’t say a word but slid to the next screen on my laptop which made them gasp in awe.
A total of ten billion dollars was spent on this non-existent company and Heaven knows I had to pinch myself severally to be sure I wasn’t making a mistake.
“There are other transactions which were recorded under expenses that have nothing to do with the company. Seaport charges, aircraft maintenance, Nature Taxes, and others that were supposed to be for the government and not the company.”
Lex was surprisingly calm, I was expecting him to flare up which made me wonder if he was expecting this, meanwhile, the people in charge of this department were sweating profusely.
“Another one that piqued my interest was the one sent to your account as Dividends. It baffled me that a CEO has more than ten accounts to receive dividends weekly, monthly, and for years.”
“What the fuck?
He cursed, Lex’s beautiful eyes glowed but he was quick to suppress it and shake his head in disbelief.
“That’s not true, My company’s profit has its account and the only Dividends for me is a single private account I haven’t touched in years.”Lex was confused, he was trying to convince himself with what he just said and I chuckled at him, sliding to the next screen and he stared deeply.
An array of different account numbers under his name was listed with different banks and he released a gasp, before curving his lips Into a deadly smile that made me smirk before proceeding.
“A total of 10% of the company’s income goes to the Dividends account and it’s personally handled by the Financial teams which makes me wonder how greedy the CEO can be when the company is still trying to earn something tangible to ensure it’s growth.”
Lex growled at my words but I didn’t care, he should see things for himself.
“The affiliation with Green Howling Pack never happened, the Alpha’s death was just used as a pawn for cover-up as resources from the company kept going to the wrong account and company in disguise of the name behind Green Howling Pack.”
Isabella slammed the table and got up, her red-painted nails pointing sharply at me in rage and I flinched for a second before regaining my composure.
“This is barbaric, Green Howling Pack was signed by the Alpha by himself!” She yelled and the other nodded.
“The Alpha ignorantly signed what he wasn’t aware of, the majority of the resources that were supposed to be sent to Green Howling were sent to Brick Cables in Midnight Shade!” I fired and her skin turned pale.
“You and Jake shared the resources equally, I have valid proof of that Isabella, your father is the owner of that company and I had someone smart, who confirmed that to me. You forced me to sign a signature relating to that and I refused so don’t dare yell at me when you’re nothing but a thief!” I fired and the ice broke, she used the effect and force of her powers to send her laptop to my face which I didn’t dodge as I wasn’t expecting such an attack from her, and a painful crack was sent to my brain which made me scream.
“How dare you cook this up and lie against me huh?” She screamed but Lex’s eyes were crimson Red, burning with a feral angel I had never experienced. He wanted to slap her, I swear, almost but he fisted his fingers in rage.
“Your father is stripped of his position in Midnight Shade! I don’t give a fuck about him or who you are but the next time you attack Lilia again, I’ll send you to the dungeon of confinement” He bellowed with a voice that scared me and in a swift move I watched Lex in awe as he grabbed a first aid by the drawer and walked on the table to where I was.
I gasped in awe and almost chuckled but the seriousness in his moves couldn’t make me react.
“Lex…. you won’t… do that…to me! Why are you even listening to this bitch who..” Her voice choked.
“Sit down Isabella, Now!” He thundered and as if she was controlled by a remote, she sat down and a tear slipped down her eyes, unable to fight his aura.
“Sorry Flower, don’t stop. I’ll take you to the hospital once you’re done. But right now, I want to know everything. Every damn thing about these betrayers and motherfuckers I’ve been harboring in company.” He said, not meeting my eye but focusing on wiping the blood on my head which already escalated to a pounding pain.
I nodded at him, feeling embarrassed at his gesture in public. The expression on the women’s faces was clearly filled with disdain and disgust but Lex wiped the blood and patched it up before returning to his seat.
“I’ll give room to you all to speak and defend yourselves but any word heard right now or being interrupted would face my wrath. Continue flower.” he reckoned to me and everyone looked at Lex as If he just said something poisonous and turned back to look at me.
“Each department was clearly running on different illegal or unauthorized transactions, making use of the President’s name and sending appeals for funds.”
Lex banged the table and I flinched, looking at him with wide eyes.
“My dad?” He looks at all of them as if they were monsters he had been harboring. “You made my father entangled in the mess? What the fuck have you all done?” He yelled and stood up ruffling his hair, his tie was pulled out with his hands as if I was too much for him to bear, and glared at them.
“Tell me, Jake, since you happen to be my Assistant Manager, why is my father having access to my company? Tell me what she’s saying is true, that Lex’s Enterprise isn’t going on bankruptcy to meet the President for a fund Apeasal!!” He growled, his emotions and self-control were slowly creeping out and it was as if this meeting was going to escalate into a blood lust soon.
Jake swallowed with a gulp and vibrated, staring at Lex before returning his gaze to me that I felt pity for him. Lex’s towering figure at him was a warning to make his head smash against the wall if he dared mess up.
Right now, I am seeing a Man who looked like a real demon the night he killed Jake and worry began to etch my face.
“It’s true Alpha.” He whispered out and Lex raised his head, his naked neck in full display as his Adam apples bobbed up and down.
“So, what she’s saying is not the truth. The Dividends, paper company transactions, and Brick Cables affiliations instead of Green Howling? Tell me it’s not true, and you will find a way to defend this company and explain what the funds are used for.”
Lex asked with a cold dead voice that erupted from his throat. God! His hands were fisted so tightly that it injured him and the next words that escaped his lips made me gasp out in shock and confusion.
“It’s the Truth Alpha, I’m sorry b.. but.. but we were only acting under the orders of your brother.”
