Lex froze in his act and I frowned in confusion, my throat became instantly dry, and raw primal fear took over me.
If Felix was solely behind all of this, the reason behind the huge chunk of money being illegally transferred and processes coupled with their personal illegal activity, then I’m totally doomed.
My breathing came in harsh pants, as different Myriad thoughts flooded my head. What if he comes after me and does something really bad for exposing his dirty act?
Oh Lord, what am I going to do?
“My brother?” Lex was in disbelief and when Jake admitted to it again, he sent a fistful punch to his nose and earned a crack.
“Tell me one more lie again and I’ll send you and the others to the grave for making a fool out of me!” He growled and Jake cried out in pain.
“I swear Alpha, there must have been other glitches of transactions made but the majority of the other income was solely under Felix. The Dividends account all belong to him, please Alpha, I thought you were aware of this, I can prove to you right now that”
“Get out!” He said quietly and Jake stood up instantly.
“All of you, get the fuck out and drop your badge. If I set my eyes on any of you again, I’ll Kill you or refer you all to the human cell where you won’t be able to shift or smell the air for the rest of your Life.” He ordered coldly and they all scrambled out as if they were running for their lives except Isabelle.
“Look Lex, I can explain.” Her voice was teary and shaky with fear and the next second she was pinned to the wall with his hands enclosed on her neck.
I gasped in shock and looked like Lex who shivered with a dreadful rage and raised Isabella up with the force of his fingers enclosed on her neck.
“L .. let.. Lex( coughs)… l…please.. please “.
She writhed and struggled as her legs dangled in the air and she scratched his hands. Tears slipped her eyes and I shook my head in dread.
He’s going to kill her! His eyes were way too bright, his body was as hard as a rock and his claws sank into the sides of her neck. I wasn’t staring at Lex but a demonic serial killer who needed to quench his taste for blood.
“Lex, stop it!” I yelled towards him and went towards both of them.
“You’re going to kill her, stop it already!” I cried as Isabella was tired of struggling, her body was becoming pale and weak and it was just a matter of seconds to break her windpipe.
“ALEXANDER!!” I growled and used the full powers of my body to push his hands away and he turned to me with an unknown ferociously and slapped me so hard that I screamed and fell flat on the floor. Isabella was freed for a moment and despite her weakness, she sprang and ran for her dear life.
Lex didn’t stop there, I almost didn’t know him again and for a moment I was Entrapped in daylight horror. His eyes, oh his were too red and not the beautiful gold I admired. His emotions were dead and blank as he stared at me and yanked me off the floor hard.
This wasn’t Lex.
Deep down, I know he wasn’t him and he’s been controlled by some strange powers. My cheeks hurt like hell but it did nothing to the pains of seeing him this way like a complete heartless rock.
His hands went to my neck but I didn’t struggle.
“Who did this to you, Lex?” She asked softly and his countenance instantly evaporated into confusion.
“This is not you, why would you hit me barely hours after you promised not to hurt me?” My eyes burned and hot tears rushed down.
“Stop hiding under a facade, I know I mean nothing to you and we might part ways soon but don’t pretend to care for me if you act like them, and do not bother to snap my neck like Isabella. Stop pretending to care when you don’t give a shit about me and hiding your true self!” I cried as I thought of Felix. I didn’t want to compare him to Felix but this scene reminded me of him.
Lex gasps, takes some steps backward, and shuts his eyes as if he didn’t want to take in the scene that just happened.
He looked so confused, and angry but it did nothing to hide his looks.
“Shit!” He cursed again and grit his teeth and I wanted him to say something. That he wasn’t about to kill Isabelle or slap me intentionally. If it’s a problem that can be fixed then I’ll gladly help because he clearly looked like someone that was possessed.
“Lex? What’s wrong with you? You’re acting so strange?” I asked him and moved closer to him but he shook his head and shifted backwards. Looking at the empty boardroom and ruffled his hair before he stifled a groan.
“Stay away from me Lilia.” He growled and my heart plummeted to the depths of my stomach in dread, not expecting his words.
He avoided my gaze, tugging at his hair at different intervals and I sighed.
“If anything is wrong with you, just”
“Nothing is wrong with me!” He growled instantly.
“Just stay away from me…please. It would be better that way. Maintain a space you’ve been maintaining since last week.”
He said with a forced intensity that made Lee whimper. I didn’t know why it hurt so badly, all I wanted to know was what the heck was bothering him and he shut me out like an evil Villain but one question from him last night, I became weak, stupid and sang out my pain an secret to him and his Beta like an obsessed canary.
