“Miss Sanaa, could you tell us why you killed hundreds of people from the Dark Court to obtain the Demonic Token?” Jonathan Lopez asked.
“I don’t think I owe you an explanation,” Sanaa replied.
“How dare you speak to Elder Spencer like that!” a blue-robed elder from the opposing crowd said sternly.
“You killed so many people from the Dark Court for the Demonic Token. Your methods are cruel and outrageous!”
“If I’m not mistaken, you went through all this trouble to get the token because you want to command the Demonic Ghost, right?”
“Isn’t that obvious? Why else would they risk so much to steal the token from the Dark Court?” another gray-robed man said.
“Exactly!” The blue-robed elder nodded and looked at Sanaa. “For the safety of the eighth-tier star domain, we cannot allow the Demonic Ghost to reappear!”
“If you don’t want trouble, I advise you to hand over the Demonic Token immediately, or we won’t be polite!”
“There are so many of you. Who should I give it to?” Sanaa asked calmly.
“Elder Spencer is our chosen representative. Hand the token to him, and he will take it back to Cloud Valley for safekeeping,” the blue-robed elder replied.
“Aren’t you worried that someone from Cloud Valley might steal the token and release the Demonic Ghost themselves?” Sanaa asked.
“Miss Sanaa, you’re joking!” Jonathan Lopez laughed. “Cloud Valley wouldn’t do such a thing…”
“Then why not suggest destroying the token directly?” Sanaa interrupted him.
As she spoke, she took out the token from her storage ring and looked at the crowd. “Wouldn’t it be better to destroy this token?”
With that, she prepared to destroy the token.
At that moment, Jonathan Lopez raised his hand, and the token flew towards him like lightning.
“You’re courting death!” Sanaa shouted, throwing a mark at him.
As Sanaa attacked, two eighth-rank Mystic Kun Realm elders from the opposing side also attacked, their moves swift and powerful.
A loud crash echoed as the void collapsed, and Sanaa and the two elders were thrown back several kilometers.
“Elder Spencer, go now! We’ll hold them off!” one elder shouted.
“Thank you!” Jonathan Lopez replied before flying away.
“Leave the token!” Billy attacked, sending a Slaughter Sky blade towards Jonathan Lopez, tearing through the void.
“Get lost!” Jonathan Lopez dismissed Billy, forming a mark with his hand and throwing it at him.
Their attacks collided in mid-air, creating a massive black vortex that released dark matter.
The powerful shockwave sent Billy flying several kilometers, coughing up blood.
Jonathan Lopez glanced at Billy before disappearing into the horizon.
Sanaa tried to chase after him but was blocked by the two eighth-rank Mystic Kun Realm elders, leading to another fierce battle.
“He’s injured! Let’s capture him and make him hand over the Nine Dragons Cauldron and three volumes of Heaven Book!” a seventh-rank Mystic Kun Realm elder shouted.
“Attack!” another seventh-rank Mystic Kun Realm elder yelled.
Several people rushed towards Billy.
“Don’t get caught up in the fight. You should leave!” Sanaa’s voice reached Billy’s ears.
“Miss Sanaa, be careful!” Billy shouted back.
He then activated his Nether Wings and sped away.
With his teleportation speed and the boost from Nether Wings, he quickly disappeared from their sight.
About fifteen minutes later, Billy received a message from Sanaa, asking him to meet her in a mountainous area.
“Miss Sanaa!” Billy called out as he landed in the mountains and walked towards her.
“Are you alright?” Sanaa asked, looking at Billy.
“I’m fine!” Billy smiled and asked, “Miss Sanaa, did you really give that token to Cloud Valley?”
He had guessed her intention when she took out the token and said she would destroy it. It was similar to how he had handed over the Nine Dragons Cauldron before, clearly intending to divert trouble elsewhere. However, unlike the Nine Dragons Cauldron, which could return on its own, the token couldn’t, so he was a bit puzzled.
“I have more than a dozen tokens in my storage ring. Do you want a few to play with?” Sanaa asked in return.
Billy’s mouth twitched slightly. “Fake ones?”
He had no idea when Sanaa had made so many fake tokens.
“Let’s go to Shadowfen Depths,” Sanaa said before flying away with Billy following her.
“Miss Sanaa, do you know about the Abyssal Clan?” Billy asked.
“Did someone from the Abyssal Clan contact you?” Sanaa asked in return.
“Yes!” Billy nodded and briefly described how Kallie Lowery had approached him.
“She wasn’t lying. The Abyssal Clan’s High Priest was indeed captured,” Sanaa responded and then asked, “Do you know who captured him?”
“The Nightshade Clan?” Billy replied.
“Yes!” Sanaa nodded. “And she was right about another thing. The Nightshade Clan does have a volume of Heaven Book!”
“The Abyssal Clan’s High Priest was captured because of that volume of Heaven Book?” Billy asked.
“Correct!” Sanaa nodded again.
“As expected!” Billy shrugged and then continued to ask, “Miss Sanaa, I have a question. If we don’t want the Demonic Ghost to return, why not destroy the token?”
He couldn’t understand why they wouldn’t just destroy the key that could unlock the world where the Demonic Ghost was sealed. That would solve everything!
“We need to make a deal with the Nightshade Clan,” Sanaa responded.
“A deal?” Billy was slightly surprised. “What kind of deal?”
“You’ll find out soon enough,” Sanaa said.
After traveling for about thirty hours, they arrived at an unfamiliar star domain.
Billy looked around and saw a vast expanse of mist stretching for thousands of miles in every direction.
“Beyond that mist lies the entrance to Shadowfen Depths,” Sanaa said. “There will be Resentful Spirits wandering in the mist. Be careful or let Dark Puppet lead the way.”
“The Dark Puppet absorbed too many souls in Dark Court and is still refining them. It won’t be done anytime soon,” Billy said with a faint smile.
“Then let’s go!” Sanaa said before walking forward with Billy following closely behind.
Billy initially thought the mist covered only a small area, but once inside, he realized it spanned tens of thousands of miles.
As he walked, he released his spiritual power to scan the surroundings but found nothing. Apart from him and Sanaa, there was no sign of any living beings.
Just as he was about to ask Sanaa a question, a shadow quickly rushed towards him.
Before Billy could see what it was, Sanaa unleashed a sword strike that passed through the shadow, causing it to dissipate…
