“Miss Sanaa, was that a Resentful Spirit just now?” Billy asked.
“Yes,” Sanaa nodded.
“Why are there Resentful Spirits here?” Billy asked again.
“Years ago, the clan leader of the Nightshade Clan imprisoned nearly a million people in the Shadowfen Depths to practice a so-called supreme demonic skill. They were all slaughtered, and over time, their lonely souls became Resentful Spirits,” Sanaa responded.
“A million people?” Billy echoed.
“Yes,” Sanaa nodded.
“It is said that he almost succeeded. If he had become the supreme demon king, even the strong ones from the ninth-tier star domain would have been powerless against him!”
“That powerful?” Billy paused and then continued, “Can we be sure that he’s really dead now?”
“Not sure,” Sanaa shook her head. “It’s just a legend that he has died, but no one can prove it.”
At that moment, there was a stir around them, and shadows began to surround them.
Billy finally saw what they were. They were about the same height and shape as Demon Spirits but with much more ferocious expressions and an eerie aura around them.
These Resentful Spirits were not very strong; the strongest among them was only comparable to the mid-stage of the Controlled Kun Realm.
So, within a few minutes, Billy and Sanaa had dealt with nearly a hundred shadows.
They continued forward, encountering two or three more waves of Resentful Spirits along the way, but they easily handled them all.
“Billy, be careful, a strong one is coming!” After flying for a while, Purple Spirit’s voice sounded in Billy’s mind.
“Purple Spirit, you can sense Resentful Spirits?” Billy asked in surprise.
“I am a spirit too, remember?” Purple Spirit responded.
“I can sense any spirit unless they are much stronger than me!”

As soon as Purple Spirit finished speaking, an extremely eerie aura swept through the air, making Billy shiver involuntarily.
A figure appeared not far in front of them. It was about the same height as the previous Resentful Spirits but looked more human-like, with gaunt features and dark skin.
What surprised Billy was that this figure not only looked human but could also speak human language.
After scanning them with his eyes, the figure spoke in a hoarse voice, “You have some guts to kill my descendants. Have you thought about how you want to die?”
“Are you controlling these Resentful Spirits?” Billy asked.
“Prepare to die!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit said coldly.
As soon as he finished speaking, he disappeared, and an eerie aura swept towards them.
Billy didn’t hesitate and threw a punch to meet the attack.
Their forces collided, causing the void to crack inch by inch. The violent shockwave pushed both of them back several kilometers.
Billy steadied himself, a look of surprise flashing across his face. His previous move could have killed a third-rank Mystic Kun Realm opponent instantly, yet it ended in a draw with this one.
“You have some skill. Take another move!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit shouted and charged at Billy again.
A blood-red spear appeared in his hand, surrounded by lightning. With a flick of his wrist, the spear spun rapidly, tearing a several-thousand-meter-long crack in the void. This attack was clearly stronger than the previous one.
Billy didn’t take it lightly. He gripped his Fury Blade and unleashed a Slaughter Sky strike.
The blade light and the spear turned into nothingness, causing the void to collapse. The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit was pushed back several kilometers by the shockwave.
Although he couldn’t withstand Billy’s strike, he wasn’t severely injured.
After steadying himself, he looked at Billy and said, “Congratulations on angering me. Prepare to face my wrath!”
As soon as he finished speaking, his eyes narrowed slightly.
The next moment, there was a huge commotion in the void as thick fog churned around them.
Countless shadowy Resentful Spirits filled the void, numbering at least a hundred thousand, blocking out the sky and sun.
With their appearance, the eerie aura in the void increased several levels, making it feel like they were in hell.
“Die!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit shouted as the shadowy Resentful Spirits charged at Billy and Sanaa.
“Can Dark Puppet come out?” Sanaa asked Billy. “Even small fry are still meat; it would be a waste not to consume so many supplements.”
“Yes,” Billy smiled.
Dark Puppet emerged from his body and opened its mouth to absorb nearly a hundred Resentful Spirits instantly.
“He is yours!” Sanaa pointed at the Human-Faced Resentful Spirit and said before charging out. Her sword continuously spun, releasing sword lights that wiped out hundreds of Resentful Spirits in an instant.
Billy didn’t stay idle either. He wielded his Fury Blade and unleashed several Thunder Blades to clear a path towards the Human-Faced Resentful Spirit.
“You’re courting death!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit roared and charged at Billy again.
Another blade light sent him flying several kilometers back, his momentum weakened significantly.
Before he could fully steady himself, Billy followed up with another Slaughter Sky strike.
Billy could have used Sky Burial Blade to end the fight quickly. However, unfamiliar with the area and potential dangers, he chose caution. Slaughter Sky was enough to deal with this opponent anyway.
After three or four exchanges, the Human-Faced Resentful Spirit no longer dared to fight and fled into the fog.
“Since you’ve shown yourself, stay!” Billy wouldn’t let him escape so easily and chased after him.

“Thank you for saving me, Elder Braxton!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit bowed and said.
“Withdraw them!” The old man named Braxton Wood pointed at the remaining Resentful Spirits nearby.
Out of ten thousand Resentful Spirits, only half remained under Sanaa and Dark Puppet’s joint attack in such a short time.
“Yes!” The Human-Faced Resentful Spirit responded and narrowed his eyes slightly. The remaining Resentful Spirits vanished without a trace immediately after.
“Who are you?” Braxton Wood looked at Billy and asked.
“Tomb Keeper?” At this moment, Sanaa flew over and asked.
“You know about Tomb Keepers?” Braxton Wood’s pupils contracted slightly.
