“Luther is such a talented young man! He has only just met Georgia and he was willing to back us up! He’s a blessing for us!” Old Mrs. Adams said with an excited face.
Hugh said, “Since you have said that, we’ll lay our cards on the table. We are indeed here to meet Georgia. We won’t judge her because she’s married. My son just wants a good-looking woman to be his lifetime partner. If this match is made, we will put half our funds into your company as a token of appreciation.”
Upon hearing this, Old Mrs. Adams grinned from ear to ear. Hugh’s company was worth 20 billion at least, and half would mean 10 billion! Ten billion indeed!
“Well. I guess it’s decided then.” Old Mrs. Adams replied cheerfully.
Dixon smiled as well and said, “I think Georgia and Mr. Falcon are a perfect match! Mr. Falcon is much better than that fool who only knows how to use his fists to solve problems.”
Luther’s mother signaled Luther and said, “Luther, aren’t you going to say anything?”
Luther smiled, he knew Georgia must also have feelings for him. He believed in his charm and that he was certainly better than a fool.
So he said, “Georgia, don’t worry. As long as you marry me, I will never let you regret your decision. The fact that you have been married to an idiot will not be mentioned by anyone in the future, because I will take you to live abroad. I have a villa in this beautiful country spacious enough for us to live a happy life.”
“Georgia, did you hear that?” Old Mrs. Adams asked Georgia with a grin. She was so excited as if she was the bride.
Georgia’s face sank as she looked at everyone in the room in utter disgust!
At this time, Luther’s mother suddenly thought of something and asked, “Since we’ve reached an agreement, when will Georgia go through with the divorce? It should be done soon. We don’t want any problems.”
“Don’t worry. The divorce is just a matter of words. Now that my husband is gone. I’ll see to it the divorce is arranged.” Old Mrs. Adams patted her chest and guaranteed it.
Finally, Georgia couldn’t bear it anymore. She raised her hand and slapped it on the table. Standing up, she said seriously, “I’m sorry, but I won’t get a divorce. I won’t divorce my husband. So you should all give up. I’m not interested in him!”
When she finished speaking, she looked at Luther and said, “I would rather love a fool than love you.”
The Falcons were all stunned and dumbfounded. Old Mrs. Adams hastened to ease things up, “Georgia, what are you talking about? Children’s marriage should always be the decision of the parents. What do you know? In the past, your grandfather made a bad decision and I already feel guilty for that. Now I can’t possibly watch you in misery. Listen to me, divorce Kayden.”
Georgia said firmly and decisively, “No way. I love Kayden and I will not divorce him, not in this lifetime.”
Old Mrs. Adams’s face changed greatly; she looked at Scarlett, who was sitting there without saying a word, and said, “Scarlett, say something; your daughter is not thinking straight. What do you mean by sitting there without a word?”
Scarlett was strange today. She usually talked a lot, but today she just sat there and didn’t say a word.
Scarlett, after being called, came to herself and said, “I…”
“What are you doing? Georgia is about to have a happy life. Aren’t you excited?” Old Mrs. Adams said with an anxious look on her face.
Scarlett really changed. She said, “I don’t think we should interfere in children’s affairs so much. Although Luther is great, Kayden is also good. Kayden was Georgia’s husband appointed by her grandfather, so of course, we shouldn’t go against his last wish. Georgia has the right to make her own decisions, and I respect that.”
“What?” Old Mrs. Adams’s face turned gloomy, and she pointed at Scarlett in a rage, “Scarlett, did I hear you right?”
Old Mrs. Adams was so confident that Georgia would divorce Kayden and that as long as Luther had his eye on Georgia, she was sure Scarlett would be on her side. However, Scarlett was not on her side anymore, and even said such words that she usually would never say.
This made Old Mrs. Adams angry!
“Scarlett, don’t you care about your daughter? Don’t you even feel humiliated that your daughter is married to an idiot?” Dixon’s wife questioned.
Scarlett said calmly, “I do care about my daughter, and I think Kayden is great. He just lost his memory before, and now he’s got it back.”
Georgia gave her mother a grateful look. It was rare that her mother actually spoke up for her.
She gathered enough courage, stood up from the chair, and said, “I’m sorry, Grandma. I won’t divorce Kayden. I hope you won’t do something like this again. I am happy to attend family gatherings, but if you do this in the name of that again, you will lose my respect for you. Also, why do you think the company is where it is today? It’s not because of how capable I am, it’s entirely because of Kayden. Without Kayden, the Adams family is nothing.”
After saying her words, Georgia looked at Luther and said, “And I hope you and your parents can respect a married woman. I already have a husband. Your son is not that powerful, getting whatever he wants. You don’t mind if I’m married. Well, I do. I don’t like him. I feel disgusted when I see him. You guys go ahead with your dinner. We’re leaving.”
“Come on, Mom!” Georgia said to Scarlett.
Scarlett, Harvey, and Georgia then left the private room one after the other.
“What the hell?” Hugh asked in disbelief, “What is going on here, Auntie? I thought you said you could handle it?”
“Come on, Hugh! Aren’t you ashamed enough? I told you that a married woman is not good enough for your son, but you insisted on coming here, and now we’ve all been disgraced!”
“Son, let’s go!” Hugh’s wife said to Luther.
But Luther grinned and said, “No, I’m not leaving! I’m in Hiphia now, and I’m going to get her! The more she acts like this, the more I like her! I’m sure I can take her.”
As he finished speaking, he put on a confident yet sinister smile!
