Old Mrs. Adams had discussed with Hugh, and they had planned to matchmake for Luther and Georgia if Luther took a liking to Georgia. It was obvious that Luther liked Georgia.
Since the other day, Kayden argued with Old Mrs. Adams in the hospital ward, Old Mrs. Adams had been holding anger inside, and during this period of time, she had been trying to find ways to kick Kayden out of the Adams family. If she didn’t kick him out of the Adams family, she was afraid the family would be in a mess because of him.
Old Mrs. Adams racked her brains but failed to find a solution. It was then that Hugh inquired her about Georgia. Old Mrs. Adams then found that Hugh had heard rumors that Georgia was an extremely beautiful woman and wanted his son to know her.
Hugh said that his son was very demanding. He could care less about anything else, but he was especially demanding about his future partner’s looks. Luther was doing art, so he thought only a beautiful woman was worthy of him.
Old Mrs. Adams told Hugh that Georgia was married, but then added that Georgia had never had intercourse with that fool, implying Georgia was still a virgin. She also made a lot of disparaging remarks about Kayden.
Hugh thought it was fine. His son wouldn’t care about whether Georgia was married or not as long as she was pretty enough. After making that plan, they arranged for the dinner today.
Luther was critical of women, and a few women attracted him. Georgia was the only one he had taken a shine to at first glance.
In other words, this dinner tonight was more of a blind date than a family feast.
After hearing this, Georgia froze, then asked, “Grandma, what do you mean by that?”
She thought she was here to talk business, but she didn’t realize how it came to the discussion of her marriage!
Old Mrs. Adams said bluntly, “Since it has come to this, I may as well be frank; your cousin and his family are here because we want you to marry Luther. With your status and position today, that fool is no longer good enough for you. Look at Luther! He’s rich, he’s capable, and he’s already accomplished so much at such a young age. So, I think you should think about marrying Luther.”
At this time, outside the door.
Jack had already arrived at the restaurant and was heading for the private room. Just as he and his companions walked to the hall, Lyndon walked up and told him the situation.
“Mr. Cortez, the private room is already taken. We’ll have to go to the room on the eleventh floor.”
Upon hearing this, Edmund instantly burst into a rage and roared sternly, “What the hell? You want me to eat on the eleventh floor?”
Lyndon froze, then looked over at Jack and said, “Just now, a guy inside the room said he was a friend of Mr. Nash’s, and he called Mr. Nash and said they were eating in there.”
Jack exchanged a look with Edmund and asked, “What the fuck? My friend? What friend?”
Lyndon was in a daze as he slapped his thigh and said, “I must have been fooled by that guy! He was dressed decently, so I believed him! It seems he was lying!”
“Mr. Cortez, Mr. Nash, wait for me. I’m going to get them out of there,” With those words, Lyndon entered the door in a rage.
Jack called him, “Wait.”
He narrowed his eyes and contemplated for a moment, then said, “I’ll go with you.”
With that, they went up the stairs together. Jack wasn’t going to beat up anyone, he just wanted to go and see who the hell was trying to ride over them or dinner.
Arriving at the top floor, they didn’t hesitate to push open the door.
The people in the room who were talking came to a halt, and everyone looked toward the door.
As soon as he saw Jack, Luther’s heart thumped. He didn’t expect them to come so soon. Just now he made two plans, the first one was to eat quickly and leave before they arrived to avoid embarrassment. The second was to wait for Jack to come and go suck up to him.
Now, he had only the second option.
He stood up in a hurry and was about to say hello when Jack’s eyes suddenly caught Georgia.
The moment he saw Georgia, Jack couldn’t stop his body from shivering and immediately called out with wide eyes, “Miss Adams!”
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry! Miss Adams, we didn’t realize you and your family were here. I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” Jack hurriedly apologized with a look of sincerity and fear.
Edmund also hurriedly said, “I’m sorry, Miss Adams. We didn’t know you were here. To compensate for the disturbance, tonight, your meal is on the house. Miss Adams, enjoy your meal!”
With those words, Edmund closed the door directly behind him and turned to leave.
After walking out, Jack and Edmund looked at each other, finding sweat on each other’s foreheads.
What happened a few days ago had sensationalized the entire city. Now everyone knew that Georgia had a powerful backing. Not to mention Jack and Edmund, even Tanner would have been careful if he were here.
Her backer was a man who could overthrow Hiphia at the drop of a hat. Who would dare to mess with such a man?
Now, no one dared to mess with Georgia!
“Lyndon!” asked Edmund through clenched teeth, “What’s going on here? Why didn’t you tell me the Adams family is here?”
Lyndon was shaken and said, “Mr. Cortez, I didn’t get a chance to say anything. Is the Adams family that scary?”
Lyndon didn’t know what was going on, so he didn’t understand why Jack and Edmund were in so much fear.
“You asshole! Almost got us killed.” Edmund shouted angrily, then shook his head and walked down the stairs.
At this moment, everyone in the private room was silenced and wide-eyed in disbelief. What just happened was so shocking that no one knew what was going on. The two who came in were Jack and Edmund, and they both looked in fear, which was really strange.
Not only did they not know what happened, but even Georgia herself didn’t know. She didn’t know Jack and Edmund, she just knew they were talking to her. However, she had a rough guess that Kayden must have given them a heads-up. Kayden was in a position of power, much more powerful than Jack and Edmund.
Hugh’s laughter broke the ice.
He said to everyone, “There’s no need to panic, Luther did this. Didn’t you, Luther?”
Luther, coming to himself from shock, hummed and nodded, “Yes. Jack and I are friends after all.”
When there was a woman present, Luther never wanted to appear weak.
