Wesley sighed and said with resignation, “Mr. Newell, let me put it this way! The people upstairs are the Adams family. So even if those people you said are here, they won’t mess with the Adams family.”
“The Adams family?” said Lyndon, feeling a bit speech, and with a sneer, he said, “Do you mean Christopher Adams and his family?”
Without thinking, Wesley nodded and said, “Yes!”
“So?” After saying this, Lyndon went upstairs, saying, “Since you don’t think they’re to be messed with, I’ll go by myself.”
Lyndon was just a driver and knew very little about big news, so he still maintained a look of fearlessness.
Looking at Lyndon’s back, Wesley sighed with resignation and dared not say anything more. He didn’t dare to mess with either side, on one side was Edmund Cortez, who had a high position of power and absolute say in Hiphia. On the other side, there was the Adams family, which had been the center of the discussion recently, and had a powerful backer. He was not willing to mess with both sides.
Just as the Adams family’s meal began, the door was pushed open.
Lyndon came to the door of the private room.
The people in the room stared at Lyndon in confusion, and they were taken aback at the sight of the burly man. Old Mrs. Adams asked politely, “May I ask who you are looking for here, sir?”
Lyndon looked defiantly at Old Mrs. Adams and asked, “You’re the head of the Adams family?”
Old Mrs. Adams nodded and said, “Yes, I am. What can I do for you?”
Lyndon said calmly, “Here’s the thing. Mr. Jack Nash and some important people are coming here for dinner. This private room is their exclusive private room! I want to switch rooms with you. You can move to the eleventh floor.”
Lyndon didn’t speak in a nasty tone, but he had a nasty look. It seemed he despised the Adams family.
The Adams family had been low-profile and friendly. Since Lyndon had mentioned Jack, they naturally did not dare to argue. After all, they still thought of themselves as irrelevant.
Old Mrs. Adams was about to compromise when Luther said coldly, “That’s a little disrespectful, isn’t it? We’ve already started our dinner. Why don’t you come over when we’re done?”
As soon as Lyndon heard this, his face instantly sank as he stared at Luther and said word for word, “I’m not discussing with you. This is an order. Ten minutes, I hope you are gone. You won’t want to make my boss angry.”
Luther sneered coldly, then took out his cell phone and said, “It just so happens that I know your boss. So let’s do this. I’ll give him a call to clarify things. We’ve started dinner, moving now will be humiliating.”
After saying his words, Luther dialed Jack’s number directly, and after a moment of ringing, Jack answered the phone, “Hello, who is it?”
Luther said on the phone, “Hello, is this Mr. Jack Nash?”
“Yes, who am I speaking to?”
“Hello, Mr. Nash. This is Luther Falcon. You remember me, don’t you? The other day, we ate together at Inassea.” As he spoke, Luther intentionally looked at the people around him, purposely showing off.
“I don’t remember. I’m busy now!” After saying this, Jack directly hung up the phone.
Luther’s cheek twitched. It was a little difficult for him. If he put down the phone, it would mean that he wasn’t as influential as he appeared. If he didn’t put down the phone, he would be mocked later.
He didn’t want to be humiliated, so he said, “Yes, it’s me. We are right here at Moon Viewing Restaurant. We were eating when some guy barged in and asked us to change rooms. He said you were coming over for dinner, so I was wondering if you could eat on the eleventh floor and leave this private room to us?”
“Okay, well thanks. I’ll buy you dinner someday to thank you.” With that said, he put down his cell phone and said to Lyndon, “Hear that? Jack’s compromised.”
Lyndon half-heartedly closed the door and walked out of the private room.
Old Mrs. Adams looked at Luther with a look of disbelief and asked, “Luther, you know Mr. Nash?”
Luther feigned modesty and said, “We had dinner together at Inassea once, so we’re sort of friends!”
After saying that, he had sweat, because the phone call just now obviously proved that Jack had forgotten who he was. Even though they had had dinner together, he never even got the chance to talk to Jack.
But he had to keep his bluff.
“Luther, you do impress me!” Old Mrs. Adams gave a thumbs up and said, “To be able to know such a big shot at such a young age is something. Your studies abroad weren’t in vain.”
Luther laughed and said, “I’m flattered.”
“Alas!” Speaking of this, Old Mrs. Adams couldn’t help but sigh, “Unfortunately, there is no one in my family who’s that powerful. If there is, the Adams family might have been the most prominent family in Hiphia. My sons-in-law are all useless.”
Upon hearing this, Hugh chimed in with a smile, “How could it be, Auntie? The Adams family has grown so much in such a short period. There must be someone driving it.”
Old Mrs. Adams laughed and said, “Yes. Georgia has become the head of the company, and the company has prospered since. It has nothing to do with the sons-in-law or anyone else.”
Georgia didn’t say anything, just bit her lip. She tried to say something but didn’t get a chance to.
“By the way, Auntie,” Hugh interrupted to ask, “Is Georgia married?”
Old Mrs. Adams, with a gloomy face and looking angry, said, “She is!”
“Oh? I wonder what kind of man would be worthy of someone like Georgia with her looks and abilities.” Hugh asked with feigned surprise. In fact, he had known about Georgia marrying a fool before he arrived. The reason for asking the question was solely to bring up the conversation.
Old Mrs. Adams said with another long sigh, “A fool who needs George to support.”
“What?” Luther looked at Georgia in shock, then asked with a look of pity, “Why?”
“Georgia is so pretty. Marrying a fool? With her looks, it’s just so easy for her to find a decent guy.” Luther made an incredulous face.
Old Mrs. Adams said with an angry look on her face, “It was all my husband’s decision! But he is dead, and now, I make the call.”
After speaking, Old Mrs. Adams said with a serious face, “Georgia, we have all seen your achievements now. You have brought the Adams family up to a whole new level. I think it’s time for you to find someone who can stand side by side with you. That fool is no longer qualified to continue to be your husband! I think you should divorce him immediately!”
