At a mountaintop on the outskirts of Inassea, there was a resort built on top of Sundown Mountain, a local attraction in Inassea where many people would come climbing during the holidays.
As the resort was built on the top of the mountain, people who came to watch the sunrise would choose to rest there for the night. The mountains were so high and dangerous that it was a miracle the resort was built here.
Kayden chose this place solely because of the Feng Shui here.
The name of the resort was Dragon Hold Resort, which implied something. Everything here was laid out according to the feng shui and every part of the place could be regarded as exquisite. Without an expert’s guidance, it was an impossible project.
The hotel was built at the dragon’s head. If anything went wrong, it would cost life. Even planting a tree here took studies. It was obvious the owner was not ordinary.
Kayden was sitting inside a room on the highest floor. He was sitting cross-legged and his forehead was covered with dense sweat. He had taken the black pill from Maverick.
That pill had a strange effect after it went down his stomach, and he felt a rush of hot air from his stomach towards his head. In addition to that, there was a tearing pain in his stomach. It was as if his stomach was about to be ripped apart by something alongside an unprecedented pain.
Right now, he couldn’t care less. He just wanted to fight Hellblazer. Even if they had been using tricks on him, he would find them and kill them.
Did they really think they could control the entire Seclela? They thought too simply and too naively. Since they had laid their hands on him, he would play with them.
As long as he found them, he would not hesitate to wield millions of troops to trample them.
They called themselves Protector of the Country and deemed themselves a mysterious organization that protected Seclela’s lifeline. But since they killed his men and so many fighters, he would destroy them!
At the moment, Greedy Wolf was guarding the door, like a tree that wouldn’t budge an inch.
It wasn’t until he heard a poof that Greedy Wolf opened the door and walked in. He saw Kayden sitting on the bed. Kayden spewed blood!
“Defender, are you okay?” Greedy Wolf asked caringly as he rushed over to Kayden.
Kayden propped himself up on the bed with one arm and waved his hand, “I’m fine.”
He pulled a piece of tissue, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth as he asked, “How’s the investigation going?”
Greedy Wolf nodded and said, ”His name is Morris Noven. He’s an outlaw who committed a tremendous murder twenty years ago, slaughtering one hundred and nine people by himself, and pistol-whipping an entire street of innocent people. It was brutal. People are still talking about it to this day, They say the street was haunted by people he killed. Since then, he has become Seclela’s most wanted man. But after that murder, he never appeared again until he showed up at the roof of the building today.”
“His body has broken in parts, and I doubt anyone is going to claim it.”
Kayden squinted as he smirked and said with a grim look, “That’s what Hellblazer does. They claimed to be the Protector of the Country. But look at what they do! They have vicious people working for them. They aren’t the Protector of the Country, but a shelter for the outlaws.”
“There is no longer any need for such an organization to exist! Give orders for the entire army to find Hellblazer’s whereabouts, and report immediately to me if anyone finds anything related to this organization.” Kayden gave the order decisively.
Greedy Wolf straightened his back and responded, “Yes, sir!”
Just as he answered, though, he thought of something and said to Kayden, “By the way, Defender, there’s something I’d like to ask you about.”
Kayden hummed and gestured for Greedy Wolf to continue.
Greedy Wolf said, “Next time when we see Liam, do we really have to kill him?”
Although Greedy Wolf was not one of the Zodiac Generals, he was like brothers with the Zodiac Generals. They had been to wars and battles together.
Kayden mused for a few seconds and asked, “What do you think?”
Greedy Wolf swallowed and said, “I think that although he hurt you, it was definitely not his intention. He was only being controlled by someone, and if he had his memories, he definitely wouldn’t have done that. After all, you were the person he respected the most. After hearing the news of your death in battle, he was heartbroken and didn’t believe that you were dead. That day, he left the Nine Dragons’ Souls to find you. Defender, Liam is loyal to you. If we see him again, can you…”
He hadn’t finished his sentence when he was suddenly interrupted by some wind blowing outside the door.
The alertness of a fighter was much stronger than normal people. He could feel it even if it was a leaf falling to the ground. He looked towards the place where there was motion, only to see a dark shadow past the doorway.
“Who is it?” Greedy Wolf growled, his voice sounding rugged and intimidating.
As he heard this, the figure suddenly stopped and stood, motionless. Through the light of the window, one could see a dark, burly figure, looking heroic.
Greedy Wolf’s expression changed slightly, then he put his hands on the two short knives on his waist, and continued to shout, “Defender of the South is here in this room! Whoever dares to sneak in here will be killed without pardon! I’ll give you one chance, hurry up and leave, otherwise, I will have to kill you.”
The dark figure remained motionless in the doorway.
Greedy Wolf caught his eye on Kayden, who waved his hand and said, “Open the door.”
Greedy Wolf was a little puzzled but didn’t ask. He just cautiously made his way to the door. After a few seconds of hesitation, he opened the door, only to see a man in armor standing in the doorway.
The man stared straight at Greedy Wolf, who opened the door, with an expression that the latter didn’t know how to describe.
“Liam?” Greedy Wolf’s eyes were filled with shock! How could he have expected the person at the door to be Liam?
