Chapter 551: Do You Really Like Jaquan?

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2024-12-8

Callie felt a bit irritated. Nelson was injured because of her, and she felt guilty about it. But feeling guilty didn’t mean she had to stay entangled with him; she didn’t like that anymore.
However, there was no other way. Anthony had many other things to handle, and Nelson only had her by his side. The doctor had explained all the care instructions to her, and she followed them meticulously, like a full-time nurse.
Nelson had a bad temper, but Callie could sense that since their reunion, he had restrained himself a lot. Sometimes, when he looked at her, there was a hint of caution in his eyes.
He wouldn’t let her do many things, fearing she would get tired.
Callie knew Nelson was trying to compensate or perhaps felt guilty.
She saw through it and mocked him, “Are you going to stay here for half a year and not care about Oconnor Group?”
Nelson tapped on the computer in front of him, “I am taking care of it. I still need to keep an eye on you.”
Callie smiled playfully, “When your injury heals, I will leave.”
“I’ve changed the room’s password.”
“I’ll jump out of the window.”
“Don’t you dare!” Nelson became irritated again. He knew that if Callie was pushed too far, she might actually do it. Maybe influenced by him, she seemed indifferent to everything. His voice softened, “Don’t do that.”
Callie was taken aback. She had said it as a joke, but Nelson’s tone sounded like he was imploring her.
She changed the subject, “It’s time to change your dressing.”
Nelson had well-defined abs and a very pleasing physique. Callie had to admit that in terms of looks and body, no one she had seen was more attractive than him.
She blushed slightly and asked him to lie on the bed.
The wound wasn’t very visible but caused deep pain. Callie applied ointment, her fingertips lightly brushing over his back with a cool touch.
Nelson let out a muffled groan.
His voice was so sexy that Callie’s ears turned red with embarrassment.
Even though it was just changing the dressing, the room seemed to be heating up.
Her mind could forget, but her damned body memory couldn’t.
“Don’t feel guilty,” he suddenly said. “This is nothing compared to the suffering you’ve endured for me.”
Callie stiffened, unsure how to respond.
Finally done with the dressing, she felt relieved and got up to leave but was unexpectedly grabbed by the wrist. She fell onto the soft bed beside Nelson.
The man’s handsome face was full of mischief. She widened her eyes and tried to get up, but her wrist was firmly held.
Callie pushed him hard. He leaned back and hit his wound, frowning in pain.
She let go and said helplessly, “Nelson, what exactly do you want?”
Nelson suppressed his frustration and hugged her from behind, “If you don’t want Jaquan to get hurt, don’t move.”
As expected, Callie’s body immediately tensed up. She gritted her teeth, “You’re shameless!”
Nelson paused and sneered, “Doesn’t matter.”
He turned her face towards him and looked at her carefully in the light for a moment. “Do you really like Jaquan?”
Without waiting for Callie’s answer, he leaned down and kissed her.
The cold touch gradually warmed up.
Callie couldn’t believe it. Nelson hadn’t crossed any boundaries these days, probably fearing she’d get angry. She had let her guard down because of that.
Who knew he was still the same person in the end?
She struggled fiercely and bit his lip hard.
Nelson pulled away in pain, blood evident at the corner of his mouth, looking quite seductive from a certain angle.
Callie panted angrily. They stared at each other like two little beasts, neither willing to back down.
