Chapter 552: Go with Her

Book:Married The Day We Met Published:2024-12-8

This was the biggest difference between Nelson and Jaquan; Nelson never asked for anyone’s opinion on what he wanted to do.
After a while, Callie softly said, “Nelson, I don’t know if I should continue liking you.”
Nelson paused slightly, feeling as if he had been struck again, the pain intense.
He understood Callie’s attitude clearly, but hearing her say it out loud, he found it hard to accept.
He raised his hand to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth, looking a bit disheveled. “Then who do you like, Jaquan?”
At that moment, Callie lay beneath him, her black hair spread across the pure white bed, her disheveled appearance extremely alluring.
“Who knows,” she turned her head, deliberately saying something provocative.
Nelson gripped her cheek tightly. “Don’t forget, we are still married. If you dare to be with someone else, it’s bigamy. Don’t even think about leaving me.”
Callie laughed. “Who left whom? When you were spreading rumors with Marilyn all over the world, why didn’t you say this? When I had a car accident and surgery, why didn’t you say this? Nelson, you’re too hypocritical! You have no right to say this to me!”
She became more agitated as she spoke, seeing Nelson’s face darken and slowly approach her. She thought he would lose his temper, but he just lowered his head, his eyes glistening.
He said, “I’m sorry.”
Callie closed her eyes in despair; she wanted to be treated right.
After a long time, Nelson finally got up. He put on his shirt and stood by the floor-to-ceiling window, where the light flowed outside.
“I’ll let you go.”
Callie thought she was hallucinating.
“On the condition that I go with you.”
Callie still thought she misheard.
He turned his head. “What if you run away?”
The next day, Anthony saw a cut on Nelson’s lip and asked without thinking, “Mr. Oconnor, what happened to your mouth?”
Callie was passing by them and her ears turned red upon hearing this. She hurried her steps.
Nelson replied slowly, “Do you need me to explain how this cut happened?”
With a glance, Anthony understood immediately and slapped his own mouth.
It seemed that Nelson and Callie were about to reconcile.
He kept his word and really took Callie to the hospital.
It was a private hospital with high confidentiality. The entire VIP floor was sealed off and no news leaked out.
When Callie arrived with Nelson, they saw Mikayla hurrying out. “Mr. Oconnor, Miss Marsh…”
Callie was about to ask when a large hand fell on her shoulder and a voice came from above her head. “Mikayla, what did you call her?”
Mikayla had always called her Miss Marsh…
“Mrs. Oconnor,” Mikayla lowered her head.
“Go ahead.”
When Callie looked up again, she saw Jaquan coming out of the ward and meeting them face to face.
A shadow flashed across his face but he quickly regained his composure. “Nelson, you’re here.”
Nelson didn’t let go of Callie’s hand. “How is she?”
“She fainted once but was saved. The doctor said it will take a long time to recover.”
Upon hearing this, Callie immediately left Nelson and walked into the ward.
Only the two men were left facing each other. Nelson’s eyes followed Callie’s departing figure. “Jaquan, you were too hasty that day. Regan got hurt; no matter what, you should have informed me.”
