Chapter 83
“Tell me the fucking truth!” Klaus yelled in anger as he pinned a surprised Eva to the wall.
She was shocked as she had not seen it coming, but sooner than she realized, she recovered and fought to free herself from his rough grip.
“Let me go!” She yelled right at his face.
“Where is my child, Eva?” Klaus maintained, refusing to let go of her hands which he held firmly to the wall as she struggled.
“What child are you talking about?” Eva asked mockingly. “Do you have a child?”
“Eva! What do you mean? We both know that…”
“We know nothing, Klaus. Leave my hands alone.” She barked in warning but Klaus paid no heed to what she was saying even as she began to struggle with him.
The next thing he knew, her knees were headed for his groin and before he could do anything about it, she had swiftly hit him below his legs.
Klaus felt pain creep into his skin as he growled in agony and left her hands in the process to save himself. In that same minute, she quickly took his gun from his waistband and pointed it at him.
“You see this nonsense you just displayed, never should you do that again. Never! Don’t you dare lay a finger on me anymore, if not…” She barked at him while he just stared at her in disbelief.
Eva was more surprised that Klaus had the nerve to have actually laid a finger on her. She couldn’t believe she had just witnessed him pin her to the wall.
“Need I remind you that we are business partners, working together to achieve a common goal, period! Nothing else is attached. I hope you understand that.”
Klaus was on his knees nursing his pain in anger.
He watched her speak to him like he was nothing, and his anger became more consuming when she walked out of him. With his gun!
Klaus stood up from his kneeling position and hit the table in anger. Then he scattered his office and broke the table, a laptop, and a chair in the process.
His breathing was heavy by the time he was done with destroying things as he called for one of his men.
“Yes, boss.” The man responded as he came in. He definitely saw the mess but acted like he had not seen anything.
“I give you and your crew 48 hours to find that boy. Otherwise, you all will give your head as ransom for it.”

Elena sat on the kitchen counter in Angelo’s mansion absentmindedly eating a plate of milked cereal that was in front of her.
Her hair looked like it had not tasted water for days, making her look haggard and out of place. She was lost in thought as she stared into space and kept scooping the cereal into her mouth.
Just then, her phone rang, making her flinch and snap back to reality. She sighed and hissed tiredly as she picked up the phone and stared at the screen for a few seconds before she picked it up.
“I told you not to call me again! Leave me the fuck alone!!!!” She screamed at the caller.
Then her father’s voice came through, pleading. She had never heard him sound this way.
“Just this once, Elena. Please.”
“What do you want?” She asked coldly.
“I need you to do me a favor, Elena. Please.” Her dad’s voice pleaded over the phone. Even though she had never heard him sound like this, she wasn’t in the mood to respond to him.
“And what makes you think I will do you one? I regret to inform you that you have called the wrong person. Excuse me!” She said and hung up the call.
Just then, Angelo walked in, and she paused in her movement to look at him.
“Who was that?” He asked, as he walked up to her and kissed her lips.
She couldn’t respond to him even as she had long accepted her fate of marrying him and refused to fight it.
He looked at the cereal she was eating and sighed while looking at her lovingly.
“Let’s go out and have a reasonable meal,” Angelo said to her but she slumped her shoulders and declined it.
“I didn’t ask a question, you know,” Angelo muttered with a knowing smile and Elena sighed in surrender.
“Okay, but I need to change my clothes. I can’t wear this out.” She said and stood up to head to the room.
“There’s no need for that. I think you look perfect in what you are wearing.” Angelo said and she stopped to look at herself.
“This? I look like… like I was brought out of a bottle. My clothes are all rumpled, and my hair is not in any way presentable.” She began to object but Angelo smiled at her.
” If I think you are perfect, then trust me when I say you are. Okay?”
Angelo had finally convinced her with his sweet words and she smiled and nodded with a sigh. But, in one minute, she used her fingers to loosen and straighten the strands of her hair that she had tangled up.
When she was done with that, she linked her arm to Angelo’s and allowed him to lead her out of the house as they went to have their dinner somewhere nice and cool.
When they got to the eatery, the passenger seat door opened, and Elena got out of the car first. Immediately, her legs touched the ground, a stray bullet hit her, and she fell with a thud back into the car and right into Angelo’s open arms.
Angelo was stunned for a few minutes. He could not understand what was going on as he stared into the face of the woman he was going to marry. Not until blood began to soak her clothes did it dawn on him that something was wrong.
“Elena! Elena!” He called but she was just looking into his eyes.
“What? What happened? Elena!” He kept screaming her name in urgency and made to look outside to see who had shot her, but her voice held him back.
