Chapter 82
Klaus watched in confusion as Eva ran out of the room leaving him behind just as confused as he had walked in to meet her scattering everywhere.
She had not said anything reasonable nor tangible to him; instead, she had left him more curious with more questions on his mind.
He fell heavily on her bed and sat there for a while as he thought about all that had happened in the past minutes.
What the hell had come over her? He wondered and sat up on the bed for a few seconds. Then he took out his phone and made a call.
“Follow her.” Those were his only words.
The expression on Klaus’s face at this moment was the same as it had always been.
Cold! Calculating! His foot tapped rhythmically on the floor as his jaw ticked and he clenched his fists.
How dare she walk out on him that way? He couldn’t even believe he had watched her leave.
He was barely listening to the person at the other end when he spoke again.
“Follow her! Don’t let me repeat myself one more time.”

A few hours later, Klaus was in his office staring at some pictures on his desk in massive curiosity.
Eva was in all of them. In some, she was going into a building, and in some other ones, she was coming out. In another one, she was kneeling beside a boy.
Klaus picked out the last one and zoomed into the boy’s face as he watched it closely with creased brows for a while.
Her words to him that day resonated in his ears
“You have a child.”
His child. He thought as an indescribable feeling overwhelmed him.
Klaus squeezed the picture and bunched it into a fist as he stood up from his seat and began to walk out of his office.
The moment he was about to step out of the office, Eva came in.
“You’re back,” he said to her in a cold voice that was void of emotions and she ignored him without saying a word.
She looked tired and worn out from all the stress of the day but he didn’t care as he questioned her.
“Where have you been, Eva?”
She snorted in response,
” It’s none of his business. That I’m here doesn’t mean you can dictate my movements. We are simply working together.” She snapped and Klaus clenched his jaws in a bit to calm himself.
He stared at her for a moment and nodded his head in defeat.
“And you, why do you look so stressed?” She asked back as she stared into his face with raised eyebrows, but it was Klaus’s turn to remain silent as he stared back at her.
He wanted to ask about the boy in the picture, but he didn’t want to sound like he cared too. He knew her, and she would read that into the question if he asked.
He shouldn’t care.
Just then, Eva walked towards him and he suddenly felt her hands on his cock. He looked at her with surprise written all over him and she was staring at him with her lustful eyes.
“Let me take this stress away.” She murmured in a seductive tone as she allowed her hands to roam his trousers.
She as well was so stressed and Klaus could see it in her eyes, her voice. Everything about her screamed stress.
She wanted to forget what had happened earlier with Angelo. Even for a moment, she felt this could help her. All through the day, his words kept resounding in her head, proposing to Elena and she hated reminiscing about it.
She began to lean in to kiss him, but then he withdrew with raised eyebrows that asked what she was doing, but Eva did not relent and tried again. This time, Klaus shifted away from her.
“You went to see him again, didn’t you?” Klaus said instead and it was her turn to pull back, surprised at his words.
“What?” She asked in surprise and Klaus scoffed. He was right, he knew he was.
He pulled away from her, making her hands drop back on her side as he walked back into the office and sat on his chair.
“What is going on? What are you talking about?” Eva asked in confusion as she approached him where he sat.
“You went to see him,” Klaus said again, and when she was about to ask what he was talking about one more time. He spoke again, ” My son.”
Realization dawned on Eva as her mouth rounded in an oh, and she began to deny it.
“No! I didn’t…” Her sentence was not complete when he lifted one of the pictures that she knelt in front of the little boy to her view.
Her expression suddenly changed as she stared at him intently, wondering what was going on in his mind.
“Where did you take him?” Klaus asked and Eva scoffed in disbelief.
He had sent his men there, just a few seconds after the pictures were taken, and they lost her, but when they got there, they found no one. The boy was gone as well.
“You were stalking me?” Eva asked in disbelief as she felt a lump of anger in her throat.
“Well, what did you expect when you refused to say anything to me.” He snapped and she scoffed again, in anger this time.
“Are you kidding me? How many times will I tell you that you have no say over my matter? I’m living my life very different from yours, all we have in common is that we are working partners. Don’t you get it?”
She screamed at him and he gave a short laugh of mockery.
“I agree with you. Work partners we are which is why you shouldn’t keep things like this from me. We are supposed to be working together but you barely told me anything about this. You just kept snubbing me till you eventually left. What was I supposed to do about that?”
Klaus was angry, too, and she could see that in the way his eyes blazed at her.
” That is my personal life, and I implore you that we separate the two. Okay? If you may excuse me!” She hissed and turned on her heels as she began walking out on him.
“Eva! Do not walk out on me!” Klaus growled at her. It would be the second time she would do that today and he wasn’t going to take it from her.
“Eva!” He growled but she didn’t stop.
Enraged, Klaus stood up from his seat and went after her.
He was indeed faster, so he got to her in two strides and pinned her to the nearest wall.
“Let me go!” Eva muttered in shock and surprise but he yelled back at her.
“Tell me the fucking truth!”
