Chapter 81
At Klaus’s mansion,
Eva angrily stomped into the house after the meeting at the club. She still could not understand what had come over Angelo that he was suddenly proposing marriage to that slut, Elena.
She still couldn’t believe he had chosen her, a slave he had bought from her miserable father, to be his wife. Did he know what this entailed?
In the next second, Eva was hitting the porcelain flower vase that was sitting innocently on the table and it went crashing down into tiny pieces.
“Welcome Miss Eva. The boss…” One of the men in the house greeted her and proceeded to relay information about their boss, but she had already shut him off as she wasn’t in the mood to listen to anyone at this time of her life.
“Hey! Don’t you have better things to do? Get something or someone to clean up this mess!” She barked at him, referring to the porcelain vase she had just broken and the man nodded and spoke again.
“I’m sorry, ma’am. I’ll do that right away. But, the boss..”
” Get out! Didn’t you hear not to talk to me?” She growled this time around, her eyes glaring at the man like he was the cause of her anger.
” I’ll leave now ma’am.” He said in a defeated tone and turned away from her.
Eva angrily hissed and walked straight to her room, pulled all her clothes, and went straight into the bathroom.
She gets into the bathroom without her clothes, turns on the cold shower, and steps into the bathtub. She hoped the water would wash away her anger and what she had just witnessed with Angelo and Elena. The slut had even pretended to faint so that Angelo wouldn’t pay her more attention and she won’t have the opportunity to tell him the truth concerning her fake and deceitful life with him.
She sighed deeply and allowed the cold water from the shower to cascade down her body, calming her for a bit, but it was not still enough to calm her down. She stood in there like a statue, trying not to think as the more she thought about it, the more the heat in her head rose.
After a few minutes when her body was a bit calm but her head was still hot in anger, she finally tried to open her eyes amidst the water pouring all over her body, and her heavy breathing which she had been trying to reduce, but the minute she opened her eyes, she saw a flashback of when Angelo said he wanted to marry Elena and the anger came surging back.
She closed her eyes then and screamed very loud as she began to scatter all the toiletries around her in anger as she kept screaming.
Klaus, who was attracted by her screams, burst into the bathroom to find her in a bathtub filled with water, and she sat in it with tears running down her face.
“Hey! Hey! What’s wrong? What’s going on with you? Are you okay?” Klaus, in his confused estate, asked all questions at once, but Eva was in no mood to respond.
“Get out!” Was the only thing her anger could allow her to say at that moment. “Get out!!!” She yelled again, but Klaus did not budge a bit. Instead, he walked into the bathroom and came to her side in the bathtub.
She fights him with the water and all the energy she has in her as she tries to push him away from her side.
“Stop it! Stay calm, Eva!” Klaus barked at her in his usual deep tone, the one he used to rule his men and not her. Eva was shocked as the deep voice coursed through her, and she immediately became calm, but her tears became worse.
She began crying even more than she was and Klaus tried to console her.
” Hey! I didn’t mean to scream at you; I just wanted you to be calm.” He comforted her even though his clothes would become wet as well, he did not care about that.
This was very much unlike Klaus as he always seemed to appear without feelings and a hard nut to crack.
After Eva had cried to her feel ok Klaus’s expensive clothes, she allowed him to help her out of the bathtub and into her room. He cleaned her up while she stood there like some mannequin that could not move or do anything of her own.
When she got into the room, she sat on her bed like a calm statue without saying a word to him. Klaus sat beside her and covered her body up with the duvet he found.
“Eva, will you tell me what’s wrong? Come on, I want to hear it.” Klaus tried to coax gently but Eva just stared into space. She wasn’t in the mood to respond to anyone and no matter how Klaus tried to calm her and make her talk to him, it all proved abortive.
Suddenly, her phone rang, startling her in her stoic state, and she reached out to pick it up without saying a word to Klaus. It was as if he wasn’t there because she was ignoring his very existence beside her.
She picks the phone up and without looking at the caller, she puts it on her head. Klaus was worried for the person on the other end; he or she was about to receive some lashing and insults that would last them a lifetime.
“Who is this?” Was the first thing Eva said into the phone.
“Something… Something is wrong…” The frightened voice at the other end stammered.
” What the hell are you talking about, can’t you speak?” She yelled.
” Something is wrong with him. You need to come, you have to be here.” The voice pleaded, and she recognized it immediately with a shocked expression and widened eyes.
She turned to look at Klaus whose eyes had been on her the entire time.
“Who is that?” He asked but instead of responding to him, she hung up the call and stood up immediately like some robot that was being controlled.
In the next minute, Eva was running around the room, trying to find her clothes and dress up while Klaus just looked at her in shock.
“Are you kidding me? Where the hell are you going to, Eva? I’ve been dealing to you since I got in here but you’ve barely said a word to me.” Klaus asked in anger as he suddenly stood up from the bed to glare at her running around the room.
” I’m sorry, but I need to go. I really need to go.” Eva muttered as she found her last piece of clothing, which was her sandals, and immediately grabbed her purse and car keys.
“Are you serious right now?” Klaus asked in defeat as she ran out of the room.
“I’ll speak to you when I’m back.” She yelled back at him as she ran out of the house into the car garage.
