Chapter 80
Elena’s father stared at the lady in surprise. He didn’t know how or when it had happened but somehow he and his men were now captives to this lady.
He was tied up in a chair, as well as his men, and the bar was now empty. He seemed to be the only conscious one while they were all unconscious.
Was he dreaming? Had she drugged them? He couldn’t believe how she had singlehandedly taken them all out at the same time.
“Elena! What kind of joke is this?” He asked her in shock. “How can you do this to me? Your birth father?” He queried as he tried to move from his seat but realized he couldn’t.
The lady scoffed and burst into a mocking laughter.
“Elena? You mean the daughter whom you sold to Angelo Fabian without batting an eyelid?” She mocked and the shock on Elena’s father’s face was palpable as he stared at her in disbelief.
What had Angelo turned his daughter into? What had he given to her?
“Hold on! Did you say, birth father? Are you a father? An uncultured ingrate who has no heart.” She spat in disgust as she took the nearest seat to his.
“This is not funny, Elena! What had gotten over you? What the hell is this?” He barked as anger began to set in.
He took a glance around the bar, which was previously filled with people happily drinking and making a lot of noise, but it was empty. Apart from him, his men, and his strangely behaved daughter, there was no other person.
He turned to look at Elena again; she had a very different expression from the one he always knew, which was fear.
Hatred!
He had expected Angelo Fabian to turn her into a shadow of herself, make her a slave and one that would easily obey instructions, but this lady he saw here was the exact opposite of what he had expected of his daughter.
He watched her pick up her gun and point it at him with a smirk.
“I wonder how it would feel if your daughter pulls a trigger into your brain.”
Elena’s father could hear his heart beating in his chest as he became uneasy. This lady here was dangerous. More than he even thought.
“You wouldn’t do that, Elena.” He responded in a very low voice, making sure it sounded coaxing enough to remind her that he was her father.
“And why not? You underestimate the power of a woman holding a gun. Should I show you?” She whispered into his ears as shivers poured all over his body.
“Now, you are going to listen to me carefully.” She began and dragged her seat closer to his.
” I need you to do something for me. Something significant and huge and guess what? You don’t have a choice.” She whispered and displayed an evil smile.
” I would’ve given a condition that has your precious daughter attached to it but I’ve come to learn the hard way that you love no one. Just yourself. No one holds value to you like yourself, which is why I will leave Elena out of this.” She told him in a small threatening voice.
Elena’s father’s eyes widened in shock as he stared at her and realization dawned on him.
He was right? He had been right all along.
“You are not Elena.” He said in a voice that held finality and a sure tone which made the lady burst into laughter one more time.
“I wondered how long it’ll take you to notice. A father who cannot tell who his real daughter is is a disgrace to the Mafian world. What if he ends up killing his friend thinking that is the enemy?” She asked laughing.
” I do not pray to be your daughter, Mister. You do not deserve it.” She spat in disgust and anger at Elena’s dad, who wasn’t even listening to her in his confusion.
He kept blinking as he looked at her like he was seeing a ghost
How was it possible? How did he look exactly like his daughter?
There is no blemish, so it is identical with all the birthmarks in the right places.
“How?” Elena’s dad breathed. “How did you… How are you so perfectly her?” He asked with his uneven breath as he tried to understand.
In response to this, she laughed and began playing with her gun, swinging it in a motion that showed that she was accustomed to her gun and no one could handle it better than she did.
Elena’s father tried to get off the chains on his hands and legs but they were so tight that he could barely even move himself from that position.
“Don’t worry about anything. I’m not an evil twin or something like that, and we have no blood relations because, of course, I can never be your daughter.” She mocked when she saw his discomfort begin to show, but she seemed excited that he was finally giving off that emotion called fear, one she so badly wanted to see.
“I just want one thing.” Her tone was serious now as she stared into his eyes.
More confusion swirled in it as she glared at them.
“What do… What do you want?” He stammered.
” I want to see your daughter. No! I need to see her, urgently. So, you’ll do me the favor of getting her down here for me.” The lady said and Elena’s father burst into laughter, one that was mixed with fear and uncertainty.
“Elena will never agree to see me. You are with the wrong person. Minutes ago you were just talking about how much of a bad father I am and how you’ll never be my daughter. Guess what? Elena thinks the same.”
” And that’s something you are supposed to be proud of? You are unbelievable.” She scoffed. ” That’s your business, by the way, and whether Elena will come or not is your problem as well, but all I know is that you’ll bring her here to see me.” She said in finality, but Elena’s dad scoffed at her.
” Well, you are at the wrong place, miss.”
” Am I?” She asked as the sound of a gunshot was suddenly heard.
Elena’s dad screamed in agony as pain shot through his spine. She had shot his toe and he had not seen it coming. He screamed out loud despite the shame he knew he would feel when he later reminisced about this moment.
“One hour! That’s all you have to get Elena down here. If not… I’m sure you know what that means.” She threatened while Elena’s dad nursed his pain with the heart of a Mafia.
“In fact, listen to me.” She whispered walking closer to him while he tried to shift away from her.
“For every hour that Elena isn’t here, a bullet in any part of your body I like until it gets to your heart.”
