CHAPTER 62
“What the fuck do you mean by that?”
Theodore asked as he rearranged himself uncomfortably on the seat.
“Bring her already to me!” He barked at them and they hurriedly picked her up and brought her closer to him.
He picked up her hand and it dropped back heavily, dangling through the air.
“What did you do to her?” His eyes were blazing as he glared at them.
“We did not…we…”
They were stammering now making him more angry.
How could they do this when he had plans to make her pay for what she had done?
“She hasn’t even begun to pay for what she did to our boss and you think death is the best option? Do you guys think at all? What the hell is this?”
Theodore was angry now.
He stood up from his seat and his men stepped away from him for fear of being hit.
“We are sorry boss.”
“Of what use is your sorry when you have taken away the life that…”
The door opened in between his banter and he paused and turned with blazing grey eyes to the door.
” What do you want?”
If the guard was taken aback by the sudden snap by his boss, he didn’t show it but instead kept a neutral expression.
“Dominic is here and is asking for your audience, boss.” He said in a stoic voice that gave no emotion away.
Theodore raised his brows in surprise.
“Dominic?” He asked for confirmation and the guard nodded affirmatively.
” Yes, boss.”
” The effrontery to come here!” Theodore scoffed. “Keep the girl back on the ground.” He ordered his men before turning back to guard.
“What does he want?”
The guard shrugged, showing he had no idea.
Theodore wondered why Dominic had come to see him. They had been allies sometime back but that incident of many years ago came in between them. No matter how much they wanted to keep the friendship, it did not still work out.
” Let him in,” Theodore ordered and the guard’s face disappeared behind the door one just as it had appeared.
Immediately the door closed, and all Theodore’s men began to rearrange themselves. A great number of them surrounded Theodore while the rest strolled to the door and waited for it to be opened.
In the next second, the door opened again and Dominic stepped in, taking the whole surroundings with his eyes until they met those of Theodore’s, he held them there.
“Your weapons.” The guards at the door asked and he handed over everything he had on him to them and stepped inside.
He looked like he was about to say something to Theodore but his eyes met Elena’s lifeless body on the floor, making them widen in alarm and surprise.
“Elena!” Dom exclaimed and began running towards her but the guards held him back.
“Let me go! Let me go! Elena!” Dom called as he tried to get to her but Theo’s men held him in place.
” Dominic!”
Theodore called, bringing his attention back to reality.
” Why are you here? What do you want?”
Dom tried to control his emotions then and swallowed heavily, drowning his feelings inside him.
“I came to make a deal,” Dom responded in a deep voice as he looked Theo squarely in the eye, daring him to say no to his proposal.
But, Theo suddenly bursts into laughter, throwing his head back in amusement.
“If it involves her, there’s nothing that’ll make me release her. Besides, she’s almost dead meat. What do you need a dead lady for?” Theo mocked him, his eyes glittering with mischievousness.
“She isn’t dead yet and I need to take her back to the hospital. Would you want to hear what I have to offer first?”
Dom was worried, he had to get Elena back to the hospital to complete her treatment before it was too late. He could see she was barely holding onto her life and he had to act fast.
“I don’t care what you have to offer, Dom. You should know by now that I won’t let her go. If I didn’t need to keep her, I wouldn’t be wasting my time here.
“She is pregnant, Theo. You need to consider that. Besides, she had already been hurt, so of what use is keeping dead meat? Just as you asked.”
Dom was getting desperate, he knew Theo would be so hard to convince but he had offered to help and now there was no going back and he was not taking no for an answer.
Theo will have no choice but to accept when he hears his deal.
“The drive,” Dom said simply and Theo’s eyes widened.
“What drive?” Theo asked feigning ignorance but Dom could see the interest flickering in his eyes.
“Let Elena go and I’ll give you the drive you want so desperately.” Dom offered. Hoping against all odds that he would accept as that was his only card to getting Elena out of this place.
Theo was silent for a while as he stared intensely at Dom wondering if he was actually with the driver or if this was just a setup to take Elena away.
“Where is the drive?” He asked instead with his eyes widening with the possibility that Dom had a file he had sacrificed so much for.
” Your men will take Elena to the hospital, make a live video of her there that she was alive and receiving treatment and in return, I’ll give you the force we took you from you. I have it here with me. Do we have a deal?”
Dom offered and Theo raised an eyebrow.
That drive was very important to them as well as his boss. It contained too much information. Too sensitive that it could expose them to the world. In as much as he wanted Elena to pay for her crimes and catch them in so much trouble and harm. He also needed that drive. It was too risky to not be in his care.
Elena could go and he would get her another time to pay when she had recovered and was stronger. A grin played out on his lips as he turned to his men.
“Do as he has said.” He ordered.
