CHAPTER 63
“Do as he says.” Theo ordered his men and Dom sighed in relief knowing he had achieved something at least but to his dismay, Theo had seen his expression and became more concerned about his sincerity.
His fingers drummed rhythmically on the table, as his eyes scanned those of Doms.
“Wait!” He suddenly sky ordered his men, his eyes watching Dom closely.
” I need to see the drive first.” He said in finality and leaned into his seat making Dom to curse as he tried to free himself from the men that held him captive.
” Okay!” He finally succumbed.
Dom brought the flas drive out and held it with two fingers.
” Are we good now?”
Theo had his eyes flicking back and forth between Dom and the drive that he held tightly. Time was slipping away, and Theo’s mind was racing.
Could that really be it?
“So that’s it?” Theo leaned back, raising an eyebrow. “You’re handing over the drive? Just like that?”
Dom’s gaze didn’t waver. “This drive has already caused enough trouble. Mario lost it, Angelo is on edge, and Elena, she’s lying here as a captive, poisoned.”
Theo let out a low chuckle. “I still don’t believe you, Dom. Why betray Angelo now? And for what? That girl?” He paused, a smirk displaying on his lips. “Or is it something more?”
Dom didn’t answer. He just looked at Theo, a flicker of something unreadable passing over his face before it vanished. “Take her to the hospital first. Then we’ll talk.”
Theo sighed, his gaze sliding to the drive once more.
“Fine.”
” But…I want a video. I want proof she’s there, and I want her stable. No tricks, Theo.”
Theo nodded, holding out his hands for the drive. “You’ll get what you asked for.”
“Proof first.” Dom maintained and returned the drive into his pocket and Theo let out a smirk.
Then he glanced over his shoulder at his men, who stood by, waiting for his command. “Take her to the hospital. Make sure the doctors know she’s in critical condition. Tell them…tell them she’s carrying a life inside her. And I want eyes on her at all times.”
The men nodded.
“One more thing. Send a video when all is settled. I’ll be waiting.” Theo ordered with his eyes on Dom.
” Yes boss.” They responded and he motioned with his hands for them to leave which they did.

Angelo stood outside his mansion, fists clenched as he could barely process his guard’s words. Dom was gone. Their only lead to Eva was gone.
“How could you lose him?” Angelo’s voice was stoic, a storm passing in his eyes which he tried to contain. His guard shifted, unable to meet his eyes.
“He slipped away, boss. We didn’t see it coming.”
Angelo’s jaw tightened. Dom was the only person with any idea where Eva was. They were supposed to have eyes on him, and yet he’d slipped away. It was a disaster. The thought of Eva out there somewhere, alone and unreachable, sent a surge of frustration through him.
Then his phone buzzed. He yanked it out, hoping for some link to where Eva was. A message blinked back at him, just a few short words and a location, a hospital not too far from where he stood. His heart kicked into gear. Maybe, just maybe, this was Dom’s slip-up.
Without wasting another second, he turned to his guard. “Get the car. Now.”
They moved fast, speeding down the city streets. The silence inside the car was thick with tension, and Angelo’s mind raced. If Dom was at the hospital, he was vulnerable. Maybe he could finally get the answers he needed, pull some piece of information out of the man that would lead him to Eva. It was a faint hope, but right now, it was all he had.
Then, his phone rang. The caller ID was unread, but Angelo answered quickly, hoping for news.
“Where is my daughter?”
The voice on the other end was sharp, demanding. Angelo froze, heart pounding as he recognized the voice immediately. Don Massimo.
He felt his chest tighten, a flood of guilt mixing with the anxiety already burning through him.
The man who had raised him, taught him, given him everything. And now, Angelo was failing him, failing to protect the one person Massimo loved most.
“Don Massimo,” he began, but the words stuck, feeling hollow. What could he say?
“Do you have any idea what’s at stake, Angelo?” Massimo’s voice was ice, barely hiding the anger underneath. “I entrusted her to you. Do you understand what it means if you fail to bring her back?”
Angelo swallowed, gripping the phone tightly, willing himself to hold steady.
