Chapter 61
The sun was gradually setting as Dominic and Angelo drove through the city.
While they drove, tension filled the air, when Dominic suddenly heard his cell phone beep.
At the same time, Angelo’s phone pinged, and he quickly reached out to it.
It was a text message. As Dominic stared at his screen, his eyes widened and a furious glint appeared in them.
“The fuck!?” Angelo suddenly yelled out as he smashed his phone at the front of the car.
“How the hell did Mario’s gang get to her already!?” He asked, his gaze on Dominic, as he ran a hand over his hair.
“Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!!”
“What do we do now, Boss?” He asked, “It seems we are in a bind at the moment. Eva is most likely still with Klaus. While Elena would be in their Casino.”
Angelo breathed in deeply, as the weight of the situation kept dwelling on him.
They still haven’t gotten a location for Klaus yet, and heading to Mario’s Casino was like a suicide mission.
He would need a ton of his able-bodied guards, and that wasn’t something that could be done in a day…
They needed a fucking plan.
“We only have two options ” Don spoke, as the car steadily drove to a halt, “Don Massimo would likely be furious when he finds out his daughter is in this mess, and this was what he was skeptical about. We could damn the consequences and inform him, or….”
He paused for a bit and Angelo stared at him. Dominic’s words made sense, seeing as Don Massimo would offer the best guards at such short notice to save his daughter. But what about Elena?
And how the hell does he explain the fact that Eva was suddenly kidnapped less than 12 hours after he put her on a plane to be with him in Peru?
He couldn’t let him down. And he sure as hell couldn’t let Eva down. She was his sister. The daughter of the man who had given him a hike when his family turned his back on him.
He would do anything for her.
But then… Elena was quite important as well…
“I will go,” Dominic said, and Angelo snapped his eyes to him.
“What?” Angelo’s brows furrowed, trying to understand what Dominic was talking about.
They were at the mansion now, and the driver stepped out of the car, leaving them both in.
“It’s either we inform the Don, or risk the girls being harmed,” his voice quivered a bit as he recalled Elena’s state when he last saw her, but he masked it with a stoic expression.
“I could go right to Mario’s Casino and get Elena, while we wait to get a location on Eva.”
Even as he spoke the words, Dominic knew it was not up for bargain. No way was Angelo going to sit back and let Eva in there for another second.
“Not gonna happen, Dominic! What the fuck!? We fucking need to do this one time. Once and for all. I think….” He ran a hand over his hair, “Fuck!”
“We need to inform the Don. And for Elena, that’s quite a brilliant idea. You can take the best men with you to avoid any mishaps. I do not want a scratch on her body and I want her brought back to me in one piece!”
Dominic nodded, “Understood.”
He unlocked the car and stepped out.
*****
A few hours later, Dominic was in the front seat of a car, as the driver sped through the dark streets. Three more cars followed behind them, slowly keeping pace as they drove.
Dominic’s eyes were on them for a few moments, as he fumbled his cell phone in his hands.
“We are almost there, Sir,” the driver spoke, and Dominic nodded slowly. They were just a few distance away from Mario’s Casino, and Dominic brought out and readied his weapons.
In a flash moment, he grabbed a hold of the steering wheel and shot a silencer through the driver’s forehead.
“No hard feelings, man,”
The car swerved, but Dominic made sure he had a grip on the wheel while he pushed the dead driver to the other side, and climbed to his seat.
He began to drive so fast, swerving through multiple bends, so he could lose the other cars behind him.
He was supposed to be the lead to Mario’s Casino, which was why they were at the forefront, leading the way.
For a few minutes, he simply drove through bends. The backups thought they had lost him for a moment, but when a car reemerged from the route he had taken, they were surprised when it wasn’t Dominic’s car.
But Dominic had changed cars at an abandoned alleyway and was now making his way to Mario’s Casino.
Alone.
****
MARIO’S CASINO
A man sat on a leather cushion in what seemed like a living room, his legs sprawled out, as he took a drag off a cigarette.
He had chiseled figures and a strong jawline, making the frown etched on his face seem… ethereal.
He was like a god.
Downed in a long flowing regalia, which went down his toes.
This man was Theodore, Mario’s cousin, and acting leader of his brother’s gang.
A slight knock was heard on the door and a fully muscled man stepped in warily.
“How’s he?” Theo asked, his voice deep and unwavering.
“Still no response, Boss.”
Theo nodded as he took another drag of his cigarette, “And where is the girl?”
“Underground, Boss.”
Theo raised his head and his grey eyes fixated on the man in front of him, staring for a few seconds, “Good. Take me to her.”
He stood up slowly, after placing the almost finished cigarette in a trash can.
The man bowed slowly, as he opened the door for Theo.
They walked a few distance, while some men standing on guard with guns in their hands, positioned at every fucking step.
By the time they got to the underground lair, Theo was bunching up his sleeves.
He glanced at a guard at the entrance as he walked, “Get me the good stuff,”
“Yes, Boss,” he quickly said and scurried away.
The underground lair was tinted with blue fluorescent lights. Although it was the place where they often performed their most brutal deeds.
“Where is she?” Theo asked, looking around.
Some men standing at the far end, moved away slightly, revealing a lady on the wet floor.
Elena.
“Bring her to me,”
They nodded immediately and while some made a chair available for Theo, and another where they would place her, the others began to carry her up.
A startled gasp escaped their lips, the moment they touched Elena, and they quickly dropped back.
“You can’t pick up a flimsy girl?”
They snapped their heads to him, their eyes wide with shock and uncertainty, “N no… Boss.. she…”
Theo took a deep breath, clenching his fists, “I am pretty sure you do not want to add to my frustrations, do you?”
“She … she is cold,” they gasped in shock, and Theodore’s eyes flashed dangerously.
“What the fuck do you mean by that!?”
