Chapter 1788: Exhibition Incident

Leo stood for a moment before realizing that the so-called guests were the wealthy individuals; he didn’t need to greet the ordinary tourists.
Ramiro from Ewha Institute also arrived. As a director of the joint exhibition, he naturally had to be present.
Anyone Ramiro greeted was someone Leo and Chloe needed to attend to.
Leo despised this practice of catering to the rich. He believed that explaining exhibits to the excited children would be much better.
This idea was probably Davon’s.
The purpose was obvious-money.
Did Langstel Museum ever lack money?
Leo glanced at Davon several times, but Davon was busy conversing with a group of dignitaries, so Leo turned his attention back to a middle-aged woman beside him.
The woman’s face was stiff, likely from a recent cosmetic procedure.
Her lipstick was applied vividly, perhaps a common etiquette among older women in Goryeo.
Leo noticed that all the older women had their lips painted blood-red, making them look like a group of demons who had just feasted on human flesh and blood.
Leo couldn’t accept this unique aesthetic and mechanically introduced the exhibit.
When Leo mentioned the Ancient Xun, the woman said something in Goryeo language. Leo turned to Chloe for translation.
“She asked how much it costs,” Chloe said awkwardly.
“It’s not for sale,” Leo replied, stunned.
These exhibited artifacts belonged to Atraria and couldn’t be sold unless Davon wanted to lose his job and face imprisonment.
Chloe communicated with the woman, who left dissatisfied after a few more words.
Leo wiped his forehead, thinking that Goryeo women were just as difficult as Atrarian women.
“Why did she want to buy it?” Leo asked softly, knowing they wouldn’t understand Atrarian.
“She wanted to display it at home to impress guests,” Chloe explained.
Leo was speechless.
Just then, Ramiro approached with another person.
Ramiro looked displeased. After yesterday’s incident, his interest in Chloe had waned, mainly due to Reginald’s involvement.
Women Reginald fancied never escaped. If he couldn’t have them, he would destroy them.
Thinking of this made Ramiro uncomfortable, especially with Reginald standing beside him.
Since the exhibition was open to the public, Reginald’s presence was understandable. However, everyone could see his obsessive desire for Chloe.
Chloe’s smile vanished when she saw Reginald with Ramiro.
She sensed Reginald’s possessiveness. Yesterday, she refrained from teaching him a lesson because of Leo. If Reginald tried anything today, she would ensure he couldn’t be a man anymore.
Chloe bit her lip, determined.
She wasn’t one to be trifled with. Most people saw her as cold but didn’t realize her ruthlessness.
Leo greeted Reginald with a smile. He had seen Reginald’s demeanor and knew he wouldn’t let go of someone like Chloe easily.
Leo no longer cared about these second-generation tycoons.
“Hello, Miss Chloe,” Reginald greeted before looking at Leo.
Leo nodded slightly without speaking.
Chloe coldly responded with a brief greeting.
The atmosphere among the four became awkward.
Ramiro was about to say something to ease the tension when Reginald suddenly said, “I’ll look around myself. No need to trouble Miss Chloe.”
He then walked away without waiting for a response.
Ramiro and Chloe were stunned, not understanding why he came over just to say hello.
Leo was also puzzled but glad the annoying guy left. It would be unpleasant if he caused trouble again in front of so many people.
Leo wondered how to make Reginald give up on Chloe but had no immediate solution.
New guests arrived, and Leo and Chloe resumed their duties, forgetting about Reginald for the moment.
Leo’s mouth was dry from talking. He checked the time several times, eager for a lunch break, but more people kept arriving.
Leo considered taking a bathroom break when a commotion erupted in one corner of the exhibition hall.
A crowd surged towards them.
Leo didn’t understand Goryeo language and asked Chloe, “What are they shouting?”
Chloe’s face turned pale as she trembled, “Fire! There’s a fire!”
“Fire?” Leo frowned. With so many people in such a large museum space, a fire couldn’t spread quickly unless it was arson.
With the crowd rushing towards them, Leo grabbed Chloe’s arm and ran towards the exit.
Chloe ran in the opposite direction.
“Are you crazy? What are you doing?” Leo shouted as he pulled her back with his strength.
“I need to save the artifacts,” Chloe insisted.
“People are more important than artifacts! Let’s get out first,” Leo said, dragging her towards the exit.
Suddenly, someone ran towards them, shouting and gesturing for them to follow his direction. It was Reginald.
Reginald looked anxious and earnestly guided Leo and Chloe.
As they passed Reginald, Leo punched him in the face without warning. Reginald didn’t expect it and fell to the ground from the heavy blow.
Leo continued running with Chloe in the opposite direction.
“Why did you hit him?” Chloe asked.
“Because I don’t like him. No need for more reasons,” Leo replied without revealing what he had noticed about Reginald’s intentions.
They reached the first floor but didn’t head outside. Instead, Leo pulled Chloe into a corner by the stairs, watching the panicked guests flee.
