Chapter 1787: A Night of Discussion

The old man had a rosy complexion, and his white hair was casually tied into a Daoist bun, giving him an otherworldly appearance.
Reginald jumped out and pointed at Leo, saying, “Master Voidkeeper, it’s him. It’s said that he discovered the Western Xia Treasury.”
Reginald intentionally mentioned the Western Xia Treasury to pique Frederick’s interest.
“The Western Xia Treasury was discovered by you?” Frederick asked in perfect Atrarian.
Leo was taken aback for a moment before replying, “Yes.”
Reginald wore a smile, waiting for the show to unfold. To him, Chloe was merely trying to elevate the status of the Atraria by praising Leo.
He had seen such scenes many times before, like the son of a factory owner with only one dilapidated factory, deliberately buying a second-hand imported car to show off on the Gangnam Street.
Leo must be that kind of person too.
As long as Frederick talked to him for a bit, he would surely reveal his true colors.
“I read some materials saying that after the Western Xia Treasury was flooded, you emerged from a pond ten miles away. Is there another mystery underground? According to my calculations, there should be a marsh underground, with yang energy on the surface, and another underground palace?”
Leo was shocked. He hadn’t expected Frederick to deduce the underground situation of the Western Xia Treasury just from snippets in the news without having been there himself. He couldn’t help but admire him.
Leo smiled and said, “Exactly. There is a marsh on the ground, forming a double-fish pattern, which allowed me to escape by luck.”
The two hit it off immediately. In just a few words, not only did the Goryeo guests who didn’t understand Atrarian feel lost, but even Chloe felt confused by their conversation about “two trigrams and four pillars.”
Perhaps annoyed by the crowd and noise, Frederick took Leo to a quiet room in the Ewha Institute for a detailed discussion, ignoring everyone else.
Even the most obtuse guests realized that the young man must have real talent to get along so well with Frederick.
Earlier, many people had surrounded Frederick, hoping to get some geomancy tips, but Frederick wasn’t so easygoing. Who knew that after just a few words with Leo, he would treat him like an old friend and take him for a private chat?
This made everyone look at the remaining three members of the Atrarian delegation differently.
Of course, most of the attention was still on Chloe.
With so many elders present, even if Reginald had ten times the courage, he wouldn’t dare use his previous shoulder-grabbing move again.
Reginald looked at Chloe in the crowd like a wolf eyeing a piece of meat but couldn’t find an opportunity to approach her and could only drool.
Ramiro, however, breathed a sigh of relief. Although he was unhappy that Leo inexplicably caught Frederick’s attention, he was more relieved that Reginald didn’t get to take advantage of Chloe.
Throughout the banquet, Chloe didn’t give Reginald any chance.
In the end, Reginald didn’t squeeze into the crowd but stood aside like an injured wolf staring at the blooming white lotus in the crowd.
For the first time, he couldn’t get what he wanted. Chloe’s white Korean-style long dress burned a deep mark in his heart like a blazing white light.
I must have you!
Reginald clenched his fists, his heart burning with fire, his eyes growing brighter.
He called over his attendant: “Wait outside that quiet room. Report everything you see when Leo comes out.”
The attendant nodded and walked out.
What the attendant didn’t expect was that he would wait all night.
“Talked all night?” Reginald originally thought they just hit it off but didn’t expect Frederick to talk with Leo all night!
“When did they leave?”
“At seven this morning,” the attendant replied with a bitter face because he had been bitten by mosquitoes all night.
He itched all over and just wanted to go home for a shower and apply ointment.
Reginald paid no attention to his subordinate’s thoughts and just pondered.
He had called Frederick to expose Leo’s flaws but didn’t expect Leo to have some real skills and chat with Frederick all night.
It seemed he needed another plan. He heard this delegation would only stay for three days. If he wanted to keep that white lotus here, he had to use tougher methods.
Reginald unconsciously clenched his fingers until his knuckles cracked.
The subordinate across from him was startled, thinking Reginald was dissatisfied with his report and would punish him. He lowered his head even more.
“Call Big Cat. Tell him there’s something tonight.”
“Big Cat?” The pockmarked subordinate shivered, momentarily forgetting his itchiness.
Seeing no immediate response from his subordinate, Reginald glared at him.
The subordinate immediately replied, “Yes.”
When Leo returned to his room, he found someone already sitting inside, startling him: “Chloe, what are you doing in my room?”
Chloe sat on a chair, fuming: “I should ask you! Where did you go last night? You didn’t come back all night. Don’t tell me you chatted with that old Daoist all night?”
Leo rubbed his nose: “Actually, yes. Master Frederick and I hit it off. He has deep insights into geomancy and Daoism.”
Seeing his tired expression and knowing he couldn’t speak Goryeo language well enough to go out like Dakota did, Chloe believed him.
Leo stretched lazily. After chatting all night, he felt sleepy but realized they had to attend the exhibition soon.
“What do I need to do at the exhibition?” Leo asked.
“It’s simple. If someone asks you questions, just answer what you know,” Chloe said.
Leo grimaced: “Sis, I don’t speak Goryeo language. Isn’t this task a bit…”
“I’ll translate for you. Just speak,” Chloe cut him off.
The Western Xia Treasury exhibition was held at an art museum opposite Gyeongbokgung Palace.
When Leo and Chloe arrived, Davon and Dakota were already inside greeting visitors.
Both had translators and were smiling as they introduced the basics of the Western Xia Treasury to first-time visitors.
Actually, it was mainly Davon talking. Dakota was mostly chatting with the pretty translator lady.
The accompanying female translator had a round face with a blessed look and was quite cute. Especially when she smiled, her crescent-shaped eyes gave her a friendly charm.
After seeing many artificial beauties with identical plastic faces yesterday, Dakota was delighted to see an unaltered original beauty with natural charm today.
After greeting Davon and Dakota, Leo and Chloe took their positions, waiting for visitors’ questions.
There were so many visitors that if they answered every question, four people wouldn’t be enough.
