At that moment, Jordan saw what was happening and quickly arranged for a driver, then informed Marry. Soon, someone opened the car door, and Ivan carefully carried his wife into the car. He sat beside her, holding her in a comfortable position against him. “Hold on, we’ll be at the hospital soon.”
Marry placed the prepared maternity bag into the car. The driver fastened his seatbelt, and Jordan got into the passenger seat, picking up his phone to call Rowan. “Dr. Watson, hello, my wife is in labor. We’re on our way to the hospital.”
“Got it,” Rowan replied and began making preparations. As an excellent doctor, his team was especially professional when it came to delivering babies.
The Lamborghini sped towards the hospital.
“Don’t be afraid, I’ll be with you,” Ivan said, extremely anxious. This was a state he had never experienced before; there was no joy or anticipation, only worry.
Jennifer leaned against him, enduring the pain with a smile as she looked at him. “Clearly, you’re the one who’s afraid.”
Yes, he was afraid. After all, he knew that childbirth could be dangerous, so he was very scared and hadn’t slept well recently.
“Yes, I’m afraid,” Ivan said seriously to her. “So you must be safe.”
Seeing his fear of losing her warmed Jennifer’s heart. She endured the pain and raised her hand to touch his cheek, smiling slightly. “Silly.”
But with Dr. Watson around, what danger could there be? There was absolutely no danger; it was just that Ivan loved her so much that he was extremely nervous.
In the morning, Agnes arrived at the company. After finishing the morning meeting, she returned to her office. She watered the plants and flowers; warm sunlight streamed through the window. After finishing her work, she began drawing her artwork.
Last night she had dreamed of Tom and woke up missing him terribly. She read their undeleted chat history countless times. She could recite every word he had replied.
She started drawing a comic book titled “Mr. Cat, You Are My Sweet Cookie” to commemorate her love that ended before it even began. Every detail in it would hide her love for him.
She sketched out a lake with two willow trees by its side and a tall man standing by the lake. His upright figure seemed to glow under her pen-softly bright, dazzling.
She drew scenes of the male and female protagonists sitting on a bench by the lake eating roasted sweet potatoes. The girl’s eyes were full of light as she looked at the man; her eyes seemed to be filled with stars.
It was the unique brightness in the eyes of a girl immersed in love.
She also drew a scene where after eating sweet potatoes, the boy developed a rash on his neck and the girl tenderly applied medicine for him. Each stroke reminded her of that morning…
Sitting at her desk with a paintbrush in hand, thinking about her beloved Mr. Cat made her lose focus…
So much so that she didn’t notice when a colleague walked in.
“Your drawing is so beautiful! The male lead is so handsome!” The colleague exclaimed in amazement. “What kind of book is this?”
Agnes snapped back to reality, feeling a bit embarrassed but smiling as she replied, “It’s my own book; I’m sketching it out as I go along. These are just rough drafts.”
“Oh my gosh, if these are rough drafts they’re perfect! You’re truly amazing; your standards are on another level compared to ours.”
“Not really.”
“I think this male lead looks really good-he has such an aura about him that feels different,” the colleague said while resting her chin on her hand and staring at Agnes’s computer screen.
Agnes looked up with interest at her colleague’s comment. “What’s different about him? Tell me.”
