Lilith
I arrived at the location, panting heavily as I shifted back into my human form, wearing my clothes and pulling the watch from my pocket.
I pressed the button, allowing Alpha Casper to be able to track my location easily as I wore the watch while using my wolf’s vision to locate Daphne.
Entering what seemed like an abandoned building, I took a few steps into it, masking my scent to avoid being ratted out by a few guards.
Confusion clung to me like a second skin as I circled the perimeter, searching the whole warehouse, but there was no sign of Lilith.
Had she been killed?
Fuck!
I came late! I would never forgive myself if anything happened to Daphne.
I sprinted, searching the surroundings and going deeper into the woods, but everywhere seemed deserted.
The heat from the sun burrowed into my skin, making me sweat profusely as I continued running.
Stopping, I squatted to rest, gasping for breath.
The sound of wailing behind me caught my attention. I froze on the spot as I turned to see Rose and Liam pushed to the floor with several men surrounding them.
While Liam was free, Rose was tied with a rope on her hands and her legs that restrained her movement.
Alarmed at the sight of danger, I rushed to get my babies, but I was brushed off by 2 men who grabbed me by my arms, holding me firmly to the ground before dragging me into the abandoned warehouse with mischievous smiles plastered on their faces.
“It’s been you who have been giving our boss sleepless nights. You are ours now,” they sneered, licking their licks, which made me want to puke.
“Touch me and Alpha Casper will kill you!” I yelled, struggling to set myself free, but my strength was no match for theirs.
“Release my family and Daphne too. What did you do to her, you monsters!”
The door was thrown open, and the sound of heels against the concrete floor filled our ears.
The sun impeded my vision, but I could make out a slender woman dressed in expensive apparel walking towards us.
She must be a part of them.
The guards quickly bowed as she approached, adjusting themselves and being in their best behaviours.
“Not a scratch should be on her body. She is the cash cow and the gateway to success.” The woman announced before releasing bursts of evil laughter.
“Just let my family go and my best friend too. You can take me. I am the one your boss wants,” I lowered my head to the floor, pleading as tears blurred my vision.
But then something hit me.
That voice was strangely familiar. I could swear that it belonged to someone close to me.
I lifted my head, blinking severally to adjust my vision to the rays of the sun that stabbed my eyes.
My blood ran cold, and I felt my heart sink deep into the bottomless abyss of my stomach.
It was like a bucket of ice was thrown over me, and a knife was stabbed behind my back.
“Daphne?!” I exclaimed. My jaws dropped to the floor as my eyes almost popped from their sockets.
“In the flesh,” she replied nonchalantly, crossing her arms across her chest as she glared at me without an atom of remorse.
“What happened to you? I thought you were kidnapped. I read your message…” I stammered, unable to form any words as surprise took over me.
“Well, you called me, so here I am. Relax honey, Calix has good plans for you,”
Perplexed, I kept staring at her, blinking hard as I tried to digest all that she had said. But the more I tried, the more I was thrown into the dark.
What happened to Daphne?
Why was she not tied up like the rest of us? Why was she talking like this and also dressed in these fancy clothes?
“Did you just say, Calix?”
“Yes,” she squeaked.
“He is evil. You shouldn’t be close to him. How did you even get to know him?” I questioned, staring at her with confused hazel eyes.
Her countenance shifted as a frown sat on her face. She balled her hands in a hard fist, baring her teeth and flashing me a deadly glare. “Talk bad about my mate one more time, and I’ll break your bones!”
“You are lucky we were not instructed to hurt you; else, these men would be on cloud nine with their ducks buried in your ass and pussy at once.”
“Daphne?” I called, making sure it was her I was seeing. “Why are you saying all these? This is not you or have you been brainwashed by Calix?”
“Awww, sweetheart, Calix and I are mates. I found out after you left for that stupid city. I’ve been working with him for some time and I was the mastermind behind making sure you were available during your mum’s 5th remembrance.”
“Trust me, it’s not because I missed you; it’s because you are useful to my mate, and as his Luna, I am willing to do all he asks, right Calix?” She asked, looking over to her shoulder as a man approached her.
“Right, my love,” he said, kissing her roughly before pulling away and shooting an evil glare at me.
“Raphael?!” Alpha Casper and I chorused in unison, staring at the duo with shock and betrayal written on our faces.
“You are Calix?”
“Yes, Alpha. I am Calix Black, the son of Alec Black, who made your life miserable by burning down your mate, kids and those you love. I am here to complete my father’s mission,” Calix replied nonchalantly, leaving us in shock.
“I want to throw up,” I muttered, taking deep breaths as my mind was thrown into a mess.
What is happening?
Calix was Daphne’s mate and his father was Alpha Casper’s nemesis?
“How are you, Calix and Raphael?” I questioned.
“Well, in the underworld, I’m known as Calix Black, but to the Blackwood pack, I’m known as Raphael Black. My father has been grooming me for this day. Before Casper’s father took my father’s mate, they had a son and it was me. My father, Alec paired me with Casper and made sure I won his trust. In case he dies without accomplishing his mission, I am here to finish it up. We’ve been friends since we were kids. It was my father’s doings,” he revealed, laughing out loud like a maniac.
“All these while, we’ve been searching for Calix. You were Calix, and you pretended to be Raphael. No wonder you never caught those traffickers because they were in your gang. Now I know why you killed the guy that I arrested. He told me there was a spy within, but before he could spill more secrets, you silenced him. Why, Raphael? Why didn’t you tell me you were Calix?” Alpha Casper yelled, fuming in anger as he walked towards him.
