Lilith
My balled fists clenched by my sides and my shoulders rolled back as I pinned him with a hostile glare.
Did he just call me an attention-deprived bitch?!
I swear by the Moon goddess, I wanted to punch him in the face so bad, but I fought the urge.
If he won’t let me go, I would escape in the dead of the night.
Good thing there was no guard hovering around.
“If you try to escape, I will find you and make your life a living hell. I am the Alpha of the Blackwood pack and the last thing you will do is to mess with me.” He said in a grave tone that made me shudder, crushing my wings.
Tears stung the back of my eyes as I felt helpless and trapped with him.
My head began spinning as I almost collapsed out of frustration.
How did I get here?!
The burst of his laughter rang in my ears, making me gulp hard in defeat.
It gave him pleasure.
Silence was heavy in the air as I froze on the spot, not knowing what to do.
My anger was useless as he was more powerful than I was.
“What are you waiting for? Get me a plate of ham and cheese omelet with a cup of coffee in 15 minutes,” he growled.
I marched angrily to the kitchen, breaking down for a few minutes before rinsing my face in the sink when light footsteps filled my ears.
“Are you alright?” Anna asked, increasing her pace to join me.
Her hand rested on my back, giving it a soft squeeze.
I quickly rinsed my eyes before forcing a smile at Anna.
“Are you crying?” Her tone was laced with worry as her head craned in the direction of my eyes. “Did the Alpha hurt you?”
“No. Something entered my eyes.” I blinked hard, walking away from her as I prepared to make breakfast.
“Your eyes are red and puffy. You shouldn’t lie, I heard the Alpha raising his voice at you. Did something happen between the both of you?”
I heaved a sigh, gritting my teeth hard before dropping the bowl I was holding noisily on the kitchen island, glaring at her.
“I’m not in the mood, Anna,” I replied in a deadly calm voice, dismissing her.
I was grateful that she didn’t push her luck further, instead, she quietly sat in the corner, watching me cook.
A part of me felt bad for shunning her, but I was too mad to care.
In no time, breakfast was ready and I arranged the Alpha’s food into a plate, before signaling at Anna.
“Can you help me taste it? I prepared it absent-mindedly.”
I dished a small portion, handing it over to her before chewing on my bottom lip.
My heart flew to my stomach as I waited for her evaluation.
Relief washed over me when her face contorted in a smile.
“This tastes even better than the way I make it. What is your recipe?” She beamed in excitement, tilting her head to meet mine.
My brows furrowed and a small smile curled on my lips. “It tastes good, right?”
“It’s excellent,” she confirmed, munching on the remaining piece.
“Thanks, goddess. When I’m done serving the Alpha, I’ll tell you my recipe.”
I walked out of the kitchen with a tray of food, having an extra grip on it to avoid it slipping from my hands.
I placed the tray on the table, clearing my throat to get his attention.
We exchanged a cold look before I tore my gaze off, and proceeded to leave.
“Did I permit you to go?” His baritone voice boomed, making me halt in my tracks.
Fuck!
The bastard wanted me to watch him eat.
I wiped my eyes with the back of my palm, sobbing quietly.
I hated how my eyes watered uncontrollably before him.
I watched him cut a piece of omelet, bringing it to his mouth before munching on it for a few seconds.
Before I could heave a sigh of relief, his fork dropped noisily on his plate, and he spat out the food into a tissue, wiping his mouth before letting out a growl.
“Lilith!”
Fear and confusion swept through me as I stared at him, unable to react.
Anna just confirmed that the food was tasty. Why did he act like that?
I remained transfixed on the spot, I knew better than to reply to him.
“What the hell is this?” he bellowed, emphasizing every word as his fingers went in the direction of the food.
“Your food.” I blurted uncontrollably. Anger rising in my gut.
“This is horrible. If this is how you make an omelet, you should be arrested.” He lashed out, pushing the plate away from him like it was trash.
That was the last straw!
“I wouldn’t have made the meal if you didn’t force me. Meanwhile, Anna commended me on my cooking so the problem is coming from you, not the food!” I fired, ignoring the consequences of my actions.
Since he wouldn’t let me go, I would piss him off until he got rid of me.
“You don’t raise your voice at me. I can cook better than you.”
“I will do whatever I want with my voice. Meanwhile, if you claim you can cook, why don’t you go into the kitchen and make yourself a decent meal instead of complaining like a jerk!”
“Your taste bud is damaged since you only eat the same meals for the past 10 years!” I bit my lips to withhold my word, but it was too late.
Before I could process what was happening, a plate flew in my direction.
I tilted my head, trying to dodge it, but the speed was too fast.
My hands flew to my face, shielding it before the plate landed on it, breaking and falling on the floor.
Horror filled my eyes as blood oozed from my torn flesh, staining the floor.
I let out an agonizing scream, holding my injured arm as my knees dropped to the floor.
My cries filled my house and hot tears ran down my cheeks.
Anna raced to where I slumped, releasing a loud gasp.
“You are bleeding! What happened?!” She asked before running to where Casper sat.
“Clean the mess, Anna,” he spoke harshly, pointing at the omelet that scattered on the floor.
“Alpha, she is bleeding, do something!” Anna screamed in desperation.
I lifted my eyes to meet him and I could feel the gush of regret flood him.
He tried to mask his expression, but his trembling lips gave him away.
How dare he act sorry after hurting me?!
“Get the first aid box and get her out of here!” he ordered, using his Alpha tone before walking out on us.
I swallowed painfully, looking at my bloodied arm before hardening my face.
This wasn’t over, Alpha Casper.
I would deal with him!
