Everyone knew that Nelson would be fine, or rather, he wouldn’t let anything happen to himself. Even when faced with emotional distress, he could still hold everything together. This was the essence of his role as the executor of the Oconnor Group.
At that moment, Anthony rushed in. “Mr. Oconnor, there’s news that Mrs. Oconnor is missing.”
Nelson’s expression changed abruptly. “What did you say?”
“She has left Ylosea. I have it from a very reliable source.”
He should have known. When she said she needed some quiet, she meant she was leaving him.
Nelson suppressed his heartache with absolute rationality and issued two orders:
Launch an attack on the Scott Group.
Search for Callie’s whereabouts.
Callie must have just left, so both the high-speed rail and the airport needed to be thoroughly checked immediately.
After handling business matters, Nelson took time for himself and went to the airport again.
The people searching for Callie found one boarding pass after another, seemingly intent on making it impossible for him to find her. This only strengthened his belief that she had indeed left Ylosea.
No one knew which plane Callie had boarded.
The airport was always bustling with people. Nelson stood among them, looking at the boarding passes with Callie’s name on them, lost in thought.
Does she hate me this much…
He knew he was a step too late. No matter the reason, he shouldn’t have been late.
Those who had followed Nelson for years had never seen their boss show such an expression-calm on the surface but internally falling apart.
Nelson’s actions at the airport quickly reached the ears of the airport executives. Learning that he was searching for Callie’s whereabouts, they got out of bed that night to personally investigate which plane she had boarded.
Someone found out.
Callie had boarded a plane headed to Osegow.
Nelson’s furrowed brow did not relax. He couldn’t understand why she was going to Osegow. He guessed she was likely using it as a cover to transfer flights.
Where she was going remained a mystery, and he could only continue the search in Osegow.
With a deep, intense look in his eyes, he ordered, “To Osegow!”
Someone immediately began making arrangements. Just then, a clear voice reached his ears, “You cannot go!”
Nelson shot a sharp glance over and saw a slightly haggard Regan!
Regan had rushed over as soon as she got the news and felt relieved to have caught up with Nelson.
She walked quickly and stood in front of him, for the first time in her life suppressing her fear of him. “Or rather, you don’t deserve to go!”
Nelson gave her a calm look. “Reason?”
Regan seemed infuriated by his nonchalant tone. “Do you have any idea what you’ve been doing lately?”
“When you were caring for Marilyn, did you ever ask for a reason? Nelson, you can’t be so unreasonable!”
A group of bodyguards blocked Regan from getting close to Nelson, ensuring she couldn’t harm him.
After listening, Nelson coldly replied, “I will apologize to her in person.”
With that, he turned towards the boarding gate.
Regan’s eyes reddened as she shouted, “It’s ridiculous to think an apology can make up for hurting her!”
Nelson didn’t stop until the person behind him shouted, “She got into a car accident because of you! Isn’t that enough?”
He froze suddenly, his eyes turning slightly red as he incredulously turned around. His voice was icy cold. “What did you say?”
