With this, the bodyguards dared not stop him. Regan walked step by step towards Nelson, speaking with a voice filled with extreme hatred.
“She couldn’t reach you and was desperate to help you. She tried every possible way to gather information. On her way to find you, she had a car accident, lost the child, and barely survived. And what were you doing while she was in the hospital? You took time out of your busy schedule to visit Marilyn who had a fever!”
Just speaking about it made Regan’s heart ache.
She watched as Nelson’s expression turned strange and painful, feeling only a sense of satisfaction.
“Not long after the accident, she dragged her sick body back to Ylosea for your sake. She waited outside the Ellison family residence all afternoon in a torrential downpour just to meet Ahmad! She developed a high fever!”
“Nelson, I’ve never seen such a good woman. She had nothing herself but did everything she could for you. Do you think Oconnor Group would have pass the crisis without her efforts?”
“Those funds were obtained at the cost of her life. Didn’t you know that?”
Every word sounded harsh.
“Tell me, are you worthy of standing in front of her?”
The man felt a pain so intense that he almost collapsed to his knees.
So that’s how it was. The crucial funds came from Callie’s efforts.
From beginning to end, she had no selfish motives and gave everything for him.
Regan’s tears fell one by one. “I beg you, let her go. Don’t disturb her anymore. You are the executive of Oconnor Group, and she is just an ordinary girl. She can’t handle this.”
Don’t you understand? Callie left because she was in unbearable pain.
Having said this much, Regan no longer cared for his twisted expression. “As a friend, I beg you not to look for her.”
That day, the sunlight was thin. Callie, shivering with cold, murmured to her, “Even so, I still hope he is well. I hope he succeeds. Even if there are small obstacles and occasional difficulties, he will eventually overcome them.”
Nelson didn’t deserve her deep affection.
“If you don’t believe me, you can ask Old Oconnor. He knows.”
Nelson ultimately did not board the plane to Osegow. His car sped down the empty road during the thawing season, skidding and crashing into the roadside barrier. There was no major damage, but the license plate fell off, and the car stalled.
Nelson gripped the steering wheel in despair, resting his head on it, recalling the intense heartbeat from moments ago.
Was Callie just as scared during her accident?
She feared pain the most.
Help was on the way.
The staff who arrived were shocked to see such an expensive car damaged like this.
Then they saw through the dim light that the person in the driver’s seat exuded a powerful aura without saying a word.
They exchanged glances and saw that person seemingly trembling uncontrollably…
Was he crying?
They were stunned and tentatively called out, “Mr. Oconnor…”
They had no idea they were witnessing a historic moment.
After an unknown amount of time, Nelson got out of the car, his face as cold as ever, with no trace of tears.
He got into another car driven by Kieran and sped away. “Take care of this.”
A man who had experienced heartbreak could still meticulously handle other arrangements.
