“Damn!”
Seeing the police suddenly appear, and such a fierce female officer at that, not only did Nick and his group turn pale, but even Darnell felt a headache coming on.
With a quick glance, he shoved the dagger into Nick’s hand, smeared the latter’s shoulder blood on his own face with agile movements, and then ran off in a panic. “Officer, please help!”
Darnell stumbled forward, almost falling to the ground. The cold-faced policewoman instinctively stepped forward and caught him.
Taking advantage of the situation, Darnell clung to the policewoman in a panic, nearly burying his head in her chest, and shouted with a blood-streaked face, “Officer, save me! These bad guys are beating me up.”
“They not only want to steal my car but also force me to give them five hundred dollars. When I refused, they slapped me, stabbed me with a knife, and forced me to drink water.”
“They said they’d let me live only if I drank all the water on the floor.”
Nick and his gang were furious upon hearing this. Damn it! It was he who beat them up badly, and now he was playing the victim.
But they couldn’t argue back. It would be too embarrassing to admit that one person had beaten them all up. It would disgrace the Apex.
“It’s okay. You’re safe now. With us here, these bad guys can’t hurt you.”
The cold-faced policewoman felt a bit uncomfortable as Darnell kept rubbing against her chest. After all, he was a grown man. But seeing his blood-streaked face and panic-stricken look made her think he was genuinely scared. She nodded slightly to her subordinate.
“Craig, take him to the hospital.”
The cold-faced policewoman was Judith.
She came here today looking for an intermediary connected to Phillip. Hearing the commotion, she came over to check it out and found this chaos.
Although such brawls didn’t give her much sense of accomplishment, as a police officer stumbling upon such an incident, she naturally had to intervene.
At this moment, Darnell looked aggrieved. “I don’t want to go to the hospital. I’m scared.”
Judith had a faint herbal scent that wafted into Darnell’s nose pleasantly. He was reluctant to leave and held onto her tighter.
Judith patted Darnell’s back gently, assuring him, “Don’t be afraid. Craig will protect you. No one will hurt you again.”
“You are injured now. You need immediate treatment.”
Darnell slowly let go with a grateful look. “Thank you, Officer, but I can go to the hospital myself. I don’t want to waste police resources.”
“I’ll go to the police station after visiting the hospital to give my statement.”
Saying this, he hugged Judith again as if conveying his gratitude.
She scolded Nick and his group, “Assaulting people in public, disrupting social order, and severely injuring citizens, you can wait for prison!”
She stared at Nick and continued, “Nick, it’s you again causing trouble! And you’re holding a knife in your hand. This time, even your father can’t save you.”
Nick was shocked. The knife fell to the ground with a clatter. Damn it! It was Darnell who shoved it into his hand! “Officer Meech, I’m being framed!”
He initially thought about running away, leaving a few scapegoats behind. However, seeing Judith made him freeze. He dared not move recklessly.
Judith from Whiteville Police Department had deep connections and ruthless methods. Even Nick’s father, Jamie Dane, respected her.
Judith usually handled major cases. Why would she come here for a brawl?
Although Nick had called many people today, he knew this scene wasn’t worth Judith’s attention.
Seeing Nick and his group drop their weapons, Darnell immediately shouted, “Officer, you must punish them! They’ve beaten me more than once.”
“Look at the blood on my face! I probably have many internal injuries too…”
“The doctor’s bills will cost a lot, but I don’t have much money…”
Darnell wiped some blood from his face pitifully, showing it to Judith. “You must stand up for me.”
This was his subtle way of asking for medical expenses.
“Take out their wallets and give money to the victim.”
Judith instructed her subordinates to take Nick’s group’s wallets and handed a large stack of cash, at least five or six thousand dollars, to Darnell.
“Take this first. If it’s not enough, come to the police station. I’ll make them pay for your medical expenses.”
“This is enough. I don’t need so much.”
Darnell took out some coins and small bills from the stack and put them back into the wallets. “No need for so much. Thank you, Officer.”
Nick was so angry he nearly jumped up. This bastard was even more despicable than himself.
“He’s not injured at all.”
A thug couldn’t hold back any longer and pointed at Darnell, shouting, “He’s a liar!”
Judith blocked his finger with her arm and twisted his wrist sharply.
She then forcefully pulled him down on his knees with an impressive technique.
“Kneel down.”
This move revealed Judith’s true capabilities, a master of combat techniques with rich practical experience. Her strikes were fast, accurate, and ruthless, without any hesitation. Each move was decisive like thunderbolts, truly impressive.
She resembled Tia in many ways except for their temperaments. Tia was icy cold while Judith was fiery hot.
Realizing this made Darnell shiver inwardly. If she found out he tricked her today, she might break one of his fingers!
Thinking about this made him quickly slip away.
“You…”
The thug who stood up knelt down again as Judith tightly gripped three of his fingers, causing him excruciating pain. He turned pale, drenched in cold sweat.
He dared not move or resist anymore, fearing she might break his fingers completely.
Other thugs were indignant, wanting to approach but were repeatedly threatened by several officers, who were wielding guns and forcing them back.
Nick’s group held their heads, not daring any reckless moves, only able to watch helplessly as Darnell slipped into his car.
However, the thug’s shouting had an effect. Judith’s eyebrows furrowed slightly. She turned to look at Darnell, who was stealthily starting the car. Seeing his nonchalant attitude and his face with bloodstains but no wounds, her pretty face turned cold, and she snapped, “You, stop!”
It would have been better if she hadn’t shouted. As soon as she did, Darnell instantly stepped on the gas. The car spun around, splashing water everywhere and blinding several people’s eyes.
As two police officers instinctively dodged the dirty water, the Porsche rushed out through the exit.
Nick and his gang widened their eyes, secretly exclaiming how outrageous this guy was.
Judith’s expression changed slightly, and she pursued without hesitation, even drawing her weapon. But just as she reached the door, she saw that the car was already far away.
The Porsche was driving extremely fast and disappeared in the blink of an eye.
“Bastard!”
Judith clenched her fist, angrily shouting, “He took advantage of me and lied to me. I will never let him go.”
She took out her phone, recalled the license plate number, and was about to call Kameron to check when a call came in first.
“Captain Meech, we’ve located Carson.”
