“Take this!”
Darnell held two hoses, hitting every target he aimed at. All the thugs who tried to approach him were mercilessly shot down.
A guy who was sneaking up from behind a car thought he had the upper hand. Just as he was about to swing a club, Darnell’s water gun appeared from under his armpit and shot a stream of water into the man’s mouth.
He fell to the ground before he could even scream.
The scene was chaotic with screams, the sound of water and panicked shouts filling the air.
“Useless!”
Nick saw Darnell using hoses to take down his team. Despite their numbers, they were all lying on the ground, groaning in pain.
He shouted angrily, “Are you idiots? He has two hoses and you still charge at him? Turn off the water supply! Quickly!”
“Yes!”
At his command, seven or eight thugs scrambled to turn off the water.
“Damn it! No more water?”
Darnell managed to shoot down a few who were turning off the water, but they eventually shut off the main valve. The powerful streams from his hoses instantly ceased. Seeing this, Nick’s men cheered and charged forward again. Darnell exhaled and looked at Nick before forcefully pulling out a hose.
Darnell wielded two seven or eight-meter-long hoses like whips.
With several sharp cracks, Nick watched helplessly as three of his men fell with bloody marks on their necks, writhing in pain.
Another series of cracks followed. Those charging at Darnell either had their legs whipped or their necks entangled, all falling on their way forward.
No one could escape.
“What the hell? Is this even possible?”
Nick’s right-hand man shouted again, “Mr. Dane, this guy must be from a circus. Last time he smashed bottles, and now he’s using whips.”
Nick was frustrated too. This guy was annoyingly good at unconventional methods.
Seeing another five men fall to the ground from the hose whips, Nick roared in anger, “Why don’t you use hoses against him?”
He doubted his men were all morons.
His suggestion backfired. Several of his men dropped their weapons and picked up hoses to whip Darnell but lacked skill.
Not only did they miss Darnell in their sights, but they also accidentally whipped some of their own comrades who were charging ahead, causing them to curse in pain.
The scene became even more chaotic.
“My turn now.”
Darnell laughed as he looked at his disoriented opponents. He then swung the hose in his left hand and hooked it onto a crane hook above him, pulling himself up like a monkey.
As he swung towards Nick, he whipped away all the enemies around him with his right hand. No one could stop him.
“S-Stop him!”
Seeing Darnell leap over dozens of his men towards him, Nick panicked. He hadn’t expected Darnell to be so fierce and feared being captured. After three confrontations, Darnell would surely beat him badly this time. He regretted not bringing Callum along.
“Stay away from me!”
He also ordered his chauffeur to move the car for a quick escape if necessary.
Six of his men charged at Darnell with a shout, but Darnell lightly pulled on the hose, lifting himself higher and tapping their chests with his toes.
The six men groaned and fell to the ground in pain. Nick called out in alarm, “Max, Tyler, protect me.”
His right-hand men charged forward with wooden clubs. However, before Darnell could whip them, they slipped and fell to the ground, motionless.
No one knew if they were truly unconscious or faking it.
“Useless.”
Nick cursed angrily and turned to run but had only gone a few meters when he felt a sharp pain in his neck.
A hose wrapped around him with great force. Before he could pull it off, he was yanked back and fell to the ground.
Looking up, he saw Darnell standing before him with a bright smile.
“No!”
Nick instinctively tried to crawl away but was pulled up by Darnell. He then whipped away several rescuers with ease.
Picking up a knife, Darnell placed it against Nick’s neck and tilted his head slightly, asking, “Nick, long time no see. How have you been?”
“Seems like not blowing your head off last time was a mistake.”
He tightened his grip on the knife. “Tell your men to back off. I get nervous easily. When I’m nervous, my hands shake…”
“Ouch!”
Darnell made a small cut on Nick’s shoulder, drawing blood. “Sorry about that.”
“Darnell, I was wrong.”
Nick winced in pain but quickly swallowed it down. “I shouldn’t have messed with you! I’m sorry!”
“Please give me another chance.”
“Next time I see you, I’ll run as far as I can.”
He waved at his approaching men. “Back off! Can’t you see I’m talking with this gentleman?”
“I’ve told you many times that fighting doesn’t solve anything. We live in a society governed by law. Why carry knives and clubs?”
“Peaceful coexistence! Understand?”
Nick scolded his men loudly, “Drop your weapons now!”
The injured thugs wanted to rush at Darnell, but seeing him holding Nick hostage made them retreat reluctantly.
“That’s more like it.”
Darnell’s hand holding the knife remained steady. “If only you’d been sensible earlier, we wouldn’t be in this mess now.”
“So tell me, how do you plan to resolve today’s situation?”
Nick’s face turned bitter. Damn it! Darnell was throwing the problem back at him again.
“What are you doing?”
Just then, a crisp authoritative voice sounded. “Freeze!”
Darnell paused and turned to see a stern police officer approaching with seven or eight officers following her.
“Fighting and disturbing public order? I’ll make sure you pay for this!”
The stern officer ran swiftly towards them. “Adan, Craig, block the other exit.”
Though there was some distance between them, under the sunlight, one could clearly see her figure.
Her jet-black hair was tied up neatly. Her fair skin contrasted sharply against her police uniform. Her red lips indicated youthfulness.
Her delicate face was partly obscured by sunglasses, adding an air of mystery to her appearance.
She moved with swift authority yet maintained an air of cold detachment that added a unique charm.
Several thugs instinctively dropped their weapons and fled in all directions while two charged in her direction. With a skilled grappling move, she reached out and grabbed one thug’s arm, using his momentum to leap up and kick the other in the waist. As he fell with a scream, she executed a shoulder throw.
The thug she threw collided with a van, landing on the ground with a head wound and bleeding.
Her movements were neat and efficient.
