Darnell had no idea what David was thinking. He only knew that he felt quite pleased. It was satisfying to retaliate when bullied.
He wasn’t one to endure being trampled on without fighting back.
However, his good mood was soon disrupted by Areli, who asked him to retrieve the car because she planned to use the Porsche for business the next day.
She thought it was better to use her own car over the weekend.
So, instead of going home for a nap as he had intended, Darnell reluctantly headed to the auto repair shop.
He knew Areli was making things difficult for him, but there was nothing he could do. After all, she was the boss.
At 5, 30 PM, Darnell arrived at the repair shop. As soon as he entered the lobby, he noticed several security guards stiffen momentarily before resuming their composure.
Darnell glanced at them and realized they were different from the ones he had seen last time. These guards were more robust and intimidating.
It seemed like trouble was brewing today.
Darnell made a mental note but didn’t pay much attention. He whistled as he approached the front desk.
He slapped the repair slip on the desk in front of the well-endowed receptionist. “Miss, can I use this repair slip to get my car or marry you?”
The receptionist glanced at Darnell with a stiff smile and hurriedly checked his information on the system. She informed him that he would need to wait a bit. “Sir, your car has just been repaired. We’re washing it now. Please wait for ten minutes.”
While speaking, she cast a fearful glance at the nearby security guards.
“Alright.”
Darnell smiled faintly and leaned against the desk to wait. He looked around and then focused on the receptionist’s handbag.
Next to the handbag was a white spray can, pepper spray.
“Is my car in the repair area?”
Darnell chatted with the receptionist while discreetly taking the pepper spray. After getting confirmation, he casually walked towards the repair area.
The receptionist hurriedly called out, “Sir, you can wait here. The repair area is dirty and might soil your clothes.”
Darnell turned back and said, “Miss, doing bad things will make your boobs shrink.”
The receptionist froze and instinctively crossed her arms over her chest. Then she picked up the repair slip in an attempt to stop him. “Sir, your repair slip.”
“That’s your repair slip.”
Darnell smiled as he lifted the curtain and saw several Porsches being cleaned with foam. He quickly identified Areli’s car among them.
But out of the corner of his eye, he also noticed several security guards following him closely.
One of them was making a phone call with a fierce expression.
Darnell walked over to the red Porsche and grabbed the worker washing it. “Thanks, buddy, but I’m in a hurry. No need to wash it.”
He took the hose from the worker and handed him a hundred dollars as a tip. As the worker happily stepped back with the money, several security guards rushed over.
A man with long eyes held onto the car door aggressively. “What are you doing? The car hasn’t been approved for release yet. No one is allowed to take it.”
“Sir, you’d better wait a few more minutes.”
Darnell smiled, “What if I insist on taking it?”
The long-eyed man’s veins bulged. “Then don’t blame us for being rude.”
His companions surrounded Darnell aggressively. The other auto repairs quickly retreated, leaving only two opposing sides in the repair area.
Darnell suddenly shouted, “Hey, Nick! You’re here!”
The security guards instinctively flinched and looked back but saw no sign of Nick. When they angrily turned back around, they saw Darnell raising the pepper spray.
With a press of his finger, a cloud of white mist sprayed out, hitting one guard square in the face before he could dodge. He screamed and fell back in pain.
Darnell twisted his wrist and swept the spray across two more guards who tried to dodge but still got hit in their faces. The pungent smell filled their noses and mouths, causing them to tear up and stumble backward without any resistance.
Darnell didn’t stop there. He kicked them a few times, making them scream and fall several meters away.
“You really went all out waiting here for me,” Darnell remarked as he saw the long-eyed man struggling up with an iron rod in hand. He raised the pepper spray again. “Wow, you even have an iron rod? Nice equipment.”
“Ah!”
The long-eyed man jumped around in pain as his eyes burned fiercely. “Stop spraying!”
Darnell kicked him in the buttocks, sending him flying again. He rolled on the ground, trying to alleviate his eye pain.
Ignoring them further, Darnell bent down to pick up the iron rod but saw several large vans pulling up at the entrance.
The van doors slid open with a clatter, revealing dozens of burly men wielding sticks. Several black sedans followed behind them.
Nick stuck his head out of one sedan and yelled viciously, “Block him!”
He glared at Darnell and added, “Today, we can’t let this jerk escape.”
Having suffered twice already and even betraying his friend under pressure, Nick felt extremely aggrieved. He firmly believed that last time was just bad luck due to unpreparedness and external factors like beer bottles aiding Darnell’s victory. This time, he brought enough manpower.
After losing last time, Nick had tracked down Darnell’s Porsche and stationed people at this shop as security guards just to ambush him.
After waiting for a whole week, they finally caught Darnell today. Nick wouldn’t let him off easily this time.
Seeing reinforcements arrive, the long-eyed man gritted his teeth as he crawled over to Nick’s side, angrily saying, “Mr. Dane! This bastard used pepper spray on us!”
Nick didn’t scold them for being useless but stared at Darnell coldly. “Stop struggling. You’re dead meat today!”
He pointed at Darnell before he continued, “If you know what’s good for you, then kneel down and beg for mercy.”
His henchmen also raised their sticks menacingly, threatening, “Hurry up and kneel!”
“Nick, wasn’t last time’s lesson enough?”
Darnell inserted the iron rod into his belt and looked at Nick calmly, “Seems like I really need to knock some sense into you.”
“Don’t blame me.”
Nick fumed and shouted, “Get him!”
At Nick’s command, those wearing black T-shirts from the Apex gang roared as they surrounded Darnell like hounds chasing prey. Gang fights thrilled them more than money did.
Seeing this made Darnell exclaim briefly before sprinting away quickly.
The fastest pursuer closed within three meters when Darnell suddenly swerved sharply into an open yellow Porsche door with lightning speed, causing him to crash head-on into it uncontrollably!
Bang!
A loud thud echoed instantly.
He flew backward, knocking over four or five comrades while spitting blood from his mouth!
Laughing lightly while holding two hoses now, Darnell sprayed twin streams forward forcefully.
Several more attackers got knocked down unexpectedly amidst the chaos.
