The photos were deleted without a trace.
This move not only surprised Casey but also left Chandler in disbelief. He had thought Darnell would use the photos to blackmail him into signing the deal, but instead, Darnell deleted them willingly.
His anger dissipated instantly, but he still grumbled, “Consider yourself lucky. Otherwise, I’d call the police…”
“For taking photos? What would they arrest me for?”
Darnell looked at Chandler, who had returned to his seat. “You’d be the one at a loss. If you make a scene and call the police, everyone will know you were watching porn during work hours. You’ll be criticized by everyone.”
“Then the patients’ families would seize the opportunity to sue you, claiming that medical staff watching porn during work hours delayed treatment and demanding millions in compensation.”
Chandler’s face changed slightly, and then he became furious. “I have connections! Who dares mess with me? You two, get out of my office right now. You’re not welcome here.”
He pointed at Casey and shouted, “And you, don’t ever come looking for me again. If you provoke me again, I’ll blacklist you and make sure you can’t survive in this industry.”
Having been the director for many years and having seen all kinds of beauties, Chandler was initially impressed by Casey but felt even more resentment.
Casey bit her lip without speaking, silently acknowledging that the deal was completely off.
Darnell smiled, “Mr. Gregg, if I leave your office, who will treat your illness?”
Chandler’s face turned pale. “What nonsense are you talking about? I’m in perfect health.”
Darnell smiled knowingly. “In recent months, besides insomnia and constant fatigue at night, haven’t you also been struggling in bed?”
Chandler jumped up in shock. “H-How do you know?” Then he realized his slip and quickly added, “What nonsense are you talking about? If you keep talking nonsense, I’ll sue you for defamation and slander.”
He was visibly shaken and had no idea how Darnell knew about his hidden ailment, which he had concealed very well.
Seeing Chandler’s reaction, Casey was astonished. She never expected that this lecherous man had already become impotent, a fitting retribution.
“Enough talk.”
While Casey remained silent and watched the situation unfold, Darnell leaned lazily on his chair and looked at Chandler with a smile.
“I can cure your illness and guarantee more than ten minutes.”
Darnell raised his finger. “Ten minutes, above the global average, and without any hormones.”
“Really?”
Chandler grasped at this lifeline instinctively. “You can cure me?” Then he snorted, “Who knows if it’s true?”
“Try it. It won’t kill you. On the contrary, it gives you a chance.”
Darnell stretched lazily and prepared to leave. “If you don’t believe me, then forget it. I’m leaving now.”
“Wait.”
Seeing Darnell about to leave, Chandler quickly shouted. Darnell had accurately diagnosed his insomnia and hidden ailment. Chandler felt this guy might have some skills.
A year ago, he could still last over twenty minutes with women, but now, his body couldn’t manage at all.
At just over forty years old, he hadn’t lasted more than two minutes with any woman in recent months.
He had sought help from girls like Casey to stimulate his desires through various means but always ended up as a laughingstock due to premature ejaculation.
Countless treatments with medication and injections had proven useless.
Frustrated and somewhat desperate, Chandler decided to give Darnell a chance. “Can you really cure me?”
Casey gently tugged on Darnell’s clothes, signaling him not to be reckless. Chandler was not an easy person to deal with. Curing him was one thing, but failing could lead to trouble.
Darnell patted her hand reassuringly before smiling at Chandler. “If you don’t believe me, I can give you a prescription first.”
“If it works after three days, pay me three million dollars without any kickbacks. If it doesn’t work, you lose nothing since your condition can’t get any worse.”
Casey felt Darnell seemed like a quack.
“How long do I need to take it?”
Chandler stared at Darnell. “And how much do you want?”
Darnell smiled faintly, “You’ll see results in three days. The cost is three million dollars without any kickbacks.”
“What? Three million dollars? And no kickbacks?”
Chandler jumped up angrily. “This is daylight robbery!”
Darnell responded calmly, “Whether you agree or not is up to you. I didn’t force you. Besides, your condition can’t get any worse.”
Chandler pursed his lips in silence as his eyes darted around calculating costs. He had already spent over two million dollars trying to cure himself.
He had consumed numerous expensive herbal tonics and secretly consulted several renowned doctors without success.
At one point, Chandler even considered seeking help from Dr. Goodenough, a famous doctor in Whiteville, but feared his eccentric personality.
While he could intimidate or bribe other doctors into silence, Dr. Goodenough’s discretion depended on his mood.
So seeking treatment from Dr. Goodenough could mean his ailment would be known throughout Whiteville by the next day, not to mention Dr. Goodenough might not even agree to treat him.
“Hurry up with the prescription!”
After some thought, Chandler slapped the table and spoke up, “Three days to see results, right? If it works, I’ll give Casey a three-million-dollar deal. If it doesn’t work….”
“I’ll blacklist her throughout the industry.”
Chandler glared menacingly at Darnell. “And I’ll report you to Spectrum Pharmaceuticals to get you fired.”
“Also, this must remain confidential. If anyone else finds out about this, I’ll make sure you’ll regret it. I have connections on both sides of the law…”
“Enough talk. Bring paper and pen.”
Darnell dismissed Chandler’s threats nonchalantly and wrote down a prescription once given paper and pen.
“Starting tomorrow, you need to take one dose each noon and evening for three days. No alcohol or intercourse during this period, and you’ll see miraculous results after three days.”
“That’s it?”
Chandler looked at the prescription skeptically. “I’ve taken many of these ingredients before without any effect.”
Darnell patted his shoulder. “Different dosages yield different effects. A gram more or less makes all the difference.”
“And since you’re familiar with these ingredients, you know I won’t poison you. Just take them confidently. You’ll see results in three days. Remember I’ll come for my payment then.”
Seeing Darnell’s confidence coupled with logical reasoning gave Chandler some hope. “Alright, if your medicine works, you’ll get what you want.”
With an insidious grin on his face, Chandler pocketed the prescription while plotting internally. “I’ve got the prescription now. The efficacy is up to me as the patient. If it doesn’t work, I can extort tens of thousands from him. If it does work, I won’t bother paying him since I’ve already been cured or even claim it didn’t work at all.
He thought Darnell was foolish but wouldn’t say so openly.
Young people were really too naive.
Chandler wore an arrogant smile, completely overlooking Darnell’s cunning smirk.
