Alpha Damian was finally able to relax after eliminating all of the bad people in the pack. He looked around the pack and noticed that many items had been rearranged.
“So the elders had a plan to change everything in the pack?” The alpha inquired while checking the majority of the tasks that he had left unfinished.
Alpha Damian did not take long outside; he wanted to see his mother as well.
“My Lord, the place is now free.” One of the guards he had called to check on something arrived to report to him.
“Thank you; I will be there immediately.” He said.
Damian took one last look at what he needed to change to keep the pack safe.
He approached his mother’s grave. It was unfortunate that his mother died before he returned. Alpha Damian took one last look at her grave before closing the door to mourn his mother, as she was buried in the pack’s restricted garden.
He went and placed a flower on her grave. He controlled his emotions so that no one would see him break down.
He is trying to appear strong for the pack, but they do not have to see him that way.
The guards stood in front of the restricted garden’s door. They stood there to protect him and ensure that no one entered.
Alpha Damian eliminated all of the guards who served Mavana and the guards. He did not trust them and did not want the elders to use them as spies within the pack.
Damian’s face was pale and covered in pain. He could not think of anything to say now; all he did was watch his mother’s grave.
“I apologize for having to leave you in such pain. I understand the pain you felt when you thought I had died,” he paused and averted his gaze for a moment.
“These elders have to suffer you and make you lie on your deathbed because you can not watch yourself serve those puppies.” He spoke angrily, and all of his emotions became active. This was the point at which his eyes shone brightly with tears, but he still held them.
His eyes were hot as he thought about this, and he had to look away several times to avoid crying.
“I will hold every one of them accountable for what they did to you. You will have a beautiful rest while your son fights for you.” He moved closer and touched the stone there.
He gently rubbed the grave, allowing the memories to flow uncontrollably. He could not hide them any longer.
Damian stood there for more than an hour, mourning his mother.
“May you find peace, mother.” These were his final words before attempting to exit the room.
He thoroughly cleaned his eyes and sniffed to improve his appearance before leaving. The guards do not need to know that he cried so much while mourning his mother.
He gently walked out of the garden.
“Do not ever let anyone in here. Lock it up.” He gave instructions and turned to leave.
The pack members would bow when they saw Alpha Damian approaching because he walked with his shoulders and face raised.
Since he had not forgiven them for attempting to kill his mate, he passed the majority of the guards.
He led her to a secret room where Luna Mavana was still lying on the bed. He brought in a foreign physician to care for her until she was completely well. She had succeeded in opening her eyes, but she was still too exhausted and weak to move from the bed.
“Now, ma’am, how are you feeling?” To take her temperature, the doctor asked her to place her hands on her forehead.
When the doctor was finished, Damian entered the room and waited in the corner. Mavana smiled slightly when she saw him.
Damian had no choice but to smile. He did not lose two things, at least.
“Get more sleep; you will recover quickly.” After saying this to her, the doctor left.
Damian approached Mavana and took a seat next to her bed.
“How are you feeling?” He gently stroked and rubbed her hair.
“I am better-at least I am still alive.” Her smile came to her face.
Damian could see how pleased she was.
“I am happy you arrived sooner, but hold on, how are you still alive?” With a worried expression, she asked him.
Knowing that he had to tell her how he managed to survive, Damian sat up.
“Perhaps the moon goddess had prepared those who would save me, and it was not yet time for me to die.” Luna Mavana paid great attention to what he was saying as he began to explain.
“It turned out that I was given an antidote rather than a poison; perhaps they mixed it up, but it hurt my body, which is why I was thrown off the cliff. While I was unconscious, some outcasts came to help me. They were able to provide me with everything I required, and when it came time to return, they offered me their assistance.” He clenched his hands and clicked his tongue.
“At the very least, I am glad I was able to save one person.” He sighed.
Luna Mavana understood exactly what he was talking about. She knew he wished he could save his mother as well; she tried to get up, but the pain was too intense.
Argh!
“Wait, what are you doing? Don’t hurt yourself.” He held her and made her lie back down.
“I am extremely grateful that you were able to save me and did not let me die in shame,” Mavana spoke very quietly.
Alpha Damian misses his wife and the way she speaks. When he learned that she had led a war against the Crest pack, he was shocked but proud of her.
“I missed that small voice. I think about it every time I wake up.” He cupped her chin.
“Then you would have arrived earlier to get me.” She rolled her eyes.
Damian laughed slightly as she said this. He knew she missed him as well, which is why she put up with all of these acts.
“Well, I am here now.” He spread his arms widely.
Luna Mavana forced herself to bear the pain and hugged Damian. She could not resist touching his body after such a long time. She rubbed her head against his chest with a soft smile.
Damian hugged her tighter, and the two had a wonderful moment together. Damian, too, could not hold back his emotions.
“Do not worry; once you are back to normal, I will give you my entire self.” He smiled as he spoke to Luna Mavana.
She let go of him and returned to her position on the bed.
Alpha Damian kissed her on the forehead before letting her rest so that the treatment could take effect.
“Enjoy your rest. Do not worry too much; I have to deal with things. I will be back.” He said to her as he rose from the bed.
Mavana watched him until he was out of sight, then slowly closed her eyes.
