It was Luna Mavana’s day to be beheaded.
They had prepared the necessary supplies and played the drums to alert everyone.
Mavana was already weak in this situation; she could barely communicate with anyone. Beta Frank felt this way; he wished he could be an alpha to help her.
“Mavana,” he said, holding her hands.
Mavana would have acted out if she were herself. Right now, she just lets everything happen without stressing about it or trying to stop it.
She turned slowly to look at him.
“I wish I could help. You don’t deserve this.” He spoke slowly.
“Unfortunately, you can’t. They are fools; after saving them from the crest pack, this is how they compensate me.” She spoke vehemently.
Beta Frank wanted to help, but the elders had already made their decisions.
“You’ll….” He was interrupted by the guard, who opened the door to Mavana’s cell.
“No, no.” He attempted to stop the guards, but they hit him on the nose and took Mavana away.
“You offenders.” The guards swore.
Luna Mavana’s eyes bled in pain, and she gave the guards a death stare.
“Put your eyes down. You will be judged.” One of the guards made a threat against her.
Her lashes fluttered as she slowly gave in and lowered her gaze.
“Once a fool, always a fool!” She muttered.
They chained her hands and led her outside.
When she got out. Everyone exclaimed with joy.
“And now, everyone, today is the day.” The relation elder opened his arms wide and spoke to the crowd.
“Yes!” The people cheered.
Luna Mavana was taken. She was so disappointed in them that she could not say anything; she just stood there, waiting for her turn to die.
“Bring her forward.” The Civil Elder gave the order.
Luna Mavana was dragged by the guards to the location where her decapitation was scheduled to take place.
“Get on your knees.” She was forced to her knees by the guards.
“This will be paid for by all of you,” Mavana yelled in agony.
The stone boiled like some sort of fire as tears fell on it.
The elders were pleased to see her in that state and laughed. She appeared defenseless and unable to escape the mess.
“Now, Daniel.” Alpha Daniel was addressed by the civil elder.
Daniel picked up the sword and moved cautiously over to where she was kneeling.
“You believed you could rule indefinitely? You will always go down.” Daniel teased.
“You are a rapist.” Mavana clenched her teeth and attempted to slap him, but her hands were tied.
Everyone laughed as they saw her fall whenever she tried to reach Daniel.
Luna Mavana was embarrassed in front of everyone, and they mocked her. The guards grabbed her neck and buried it in the stone so they could carry out the sentence.
“This is for your stupidity.” Daniel raised his sword and was about to cut off her head.
Argh!
Daniel exclaimed as his hands weakened. An arrow flew out of nowhere, striking Daniel’s leg and waist.
He collapsed on his knees and screamed in pain. There was chaos in the pack, and everyone ran to find shade to avoid being shot. The elders looked around to figure out where the arrow was coming from, but they saw nothing and had no idea.
“What is happening?” One of the elders inquired, trembling in fear.
“Grab him.” The civil elder pointed to Daniel, who had already fallen to the ground.
Just as the guards rushed to get Daniel. A massive soldier marched in, and everyone stopped to see who it was.
“Alpha Damian.” The entire crowd gasped.
“Seize him.” He ordered his guards to take Daniel.
Every other elder was about to flee, but unfortunately, they were caught in an ambush.
“Take everyone to the dungeon and do not let them leave until I say so.” Alpha Damian sounded incredibly authoritative.
He rushed to get Luna Mavana, who was already weak. Damian immediately picked her up; she fell back, and he caught her. Her eyes were rolling, and she could barely see what was going on.
She opened her eyes slightly, then immediately closed them.
Alpha Damian took her in, and there he met the royal doctor.
He shook with fear when he saw Damian.
“Alpha, Damian?” He narrowed his eyes.
The guards surrounded him and grabbed his hands.
“What is happening? I haven’t done anything.” The royal doctor began to rant and do everything possible to set himself free.
Alpha Damian led her into his room and positioned Mavana on the bed.
His eyes met the Royal Doctor, and he gave him a death stare.
“You believe you all have sense? You are incredibly stupid, which is why you are so easy to catch.” He roared in rage.
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” The royal doctor fought to get out of their grip.
“One more word from you, and your head will start rolling across the floor.” He warned and motioned for the guards to take him away.
He went outside to meet the elders who were gathered.
“You think I am a fool?” “I see how selfish you are, and you will pay the price.” His brows furrowed.
“Take them away.” He walked back to the pack peak house.
He glared at the pack members, who were shaking with fear. The majority of them were unable to look at his face.
“You are not worthy of being spared. Luna has risked her life to ensure that you are not enslaved by the crest pack, and the only thing you can do is betray her. He paused and gave everyone a death stare, stating that they were the worst people to rule over.
“You are all going to pay for it.” He exclaimed angrily.
Murmurs started to fly through the air. People posed various questions that could not be answered.
Alpha Damian went back into the pack house to check on Luna Mavana. She was still weak and groaning with pain.
Alpha Damian sat beside her and held her hands, hoping she would feel better.
*******
Back in the dungeon, the elders and royal doctor were still perplexed as to how Damian came to be alive.
“I have no idea what is going on. How did he get back?” The royal doctor inquired, puzzled.
“This was Daniel’s fault; he was supposed to do it quickly, but he stood there trying to argue with that fool.” The relative elder cursed.
“You are not allowed to blame anyone. He received a shot.” The civil elder cuts in.
“How long did it take him to lift the fucking sword and cut off her head?” He yelled in rage.
They soon began exchanging words within the cell. The royal doctor would not have it; he was already disturbed by what was going on in the pack.
“Would you guys just shut the fuck up and think about how we are going to deal with the situation?” The royal doctor shouted, and the entire room fell silent.
“Just shut up and think: Damian could do anything to us at any time, and you are referring to Daniel.” “We should talk about ourselves,” the royal doctor told them.
They sighed and moved away from each other.
“Just understand that staying apart will not help the situation. We might all die.” He sat down and crossed his legs.
