Luna Mavana was preoccupied with the things she had to do inside. She had not met or spoken with any elders throughout the day.
The elders held a secret meeting and decided to organize a gathering.
“We do not have to wait for her to get back on her feet. Let us do what is necessary right now.” One of the elders made the suggestion.
“This is not even something we should argue about. You do not have to say much; I have already told them to call a gathering.” The civil elder snapped.
The others were astounded because they had no idea that was how the plan would unfold, but they had to go anyway.
“I suppose she did not see this coming.” The elders burst out laughing.
Soon, a bell rang. Everyone was perplexed by the bell calling, but they made their way to the pack peak in the hopes that Mavana had something positive to say.
“Welcome to this gathering, everyone,” the elders began his speech.
Luna Mavana had no idea what was going on outside.
“This Luna that she claims to be had a significant impact on us. She has been using us for trade and now wants us to pay. She will lead us to war, and we will be killed. She was after the throne and took various steps to eliminate us.” The relation elder shouted.
The entire pack gasped when he said these words.
“There is always a punishment for that. “She will be beheaded.” He concluded.
The news appeared to be simple, but with minor adjustments, what he said was correct.
“Yey,” the crowd exclaimed.
The relation elder stepped down from the stage and patiently waited for Mavana to enter.
She walked in with a confused expression. Her jaw dropped, and the entire audience sang for her demise.
“What is happening?” She inquired quietly.
Her gaze met that of the relation elder.
Luna Mavana was unable to speak. She simply stood there in disbelief.
“What do you think you are doing?” She was about to attack the elders; however, the guards seized her by her shoulders.
“You understand that all you can do at this point is beg. You should humbly beg. The elders laughed.
“You useless people, I worked for you. I tried to save you, but you believed these people.” “These self-centered individuals.” She shouted.
Beta Frank could not watch this in silence. He intervened right away.
“No, Luna Mavana cannot do this.” He shouted to the audience.
There was a minute of silence as he contemplated explaining things to the audience.
“Now, look at another accomplice. I know you are going to try to help your devil. But you will also be taken away.” The civil elder snapped twice, and the guards approached him.
They took him with them. They dragged him out while he screamed for release.
The elders decided that Luna Mavana should be killed. They removed her crown and denounced her as Luna.
For a moment, Mavana believed she could summon her strength once more to fight these people. They had injected her with wolfsbane, and she was now weak.
She felt her wolf growling slowly. “Even if it was just once, I would tear them apart,” she said to herself.
The relation elder approached closely and lifted her chin
“You will be beheaded, and believe me, you will never think we were always on your side,” he mocked her.
Mavana had a lot to do with him, but she ended up falling like a tree.
The elders seemed disgusted.
“Please take this thing away,” he said.
The guards dragged her away and led her to the cell alongside Beta Frank. The people were pleased that she had been taken away.
“Once a warrior,” One of the elders said, scoffing.
The rest of the elders laughed.
The relation elder went ahead and addressed the crowd.
“Now that we are free of those who tried to force us into bondage, we must consider having a new alpha.” He paused.
Unanswered questions filled the air as they were unsure who the elders would bring up.
“Do not be concerned, people of Silverado. You already have a great alpha; all you have to do is accept him.” He stretched his hands.
The people looked at themselves, perplexed. The elder ignored their actions and proceeded to introduce the next Alpha.
“I present to you, Alpha Daniel.” He announced.
The crowd refused to applaud. They simply stared at Daniel as he walked to the stage, and murmurs filled the pack peak house.
“Is he not the late Alpha’s cousin, who was banished for attempting to rape our Luna?” A question popped up from the audience, surprising the Elders, but the relation elder recovered quickly and shrugged it off to continue his speech.
“He will serve as the alpha until the day of coronation.” He spoke.
The people were unimpressed with the decision. They tried to speak up, but they were too afraid, so they just mumbled words to themselves.
“Are all of you dumb? Can not you applaud our alpha?” The elder roared furiously.
“He can not be our Alpha; he was involved in rape and cannot lead us.” One of the young boys present spoke up.
“Yes.” The others joined in the chorus.
Daniel’s eyebrows were knitted.
“Come up, little boy; you have a point.” The relation elder faked a smile.
The boy stood up boldly, and the elder gripped his neck tightly.
“This is a lesson to all of you; you cannot do without an alpha, and I have chosen the best one for you.” He smiled.
The audience was scared of what he was going to do. They slowly began clapping one after the other.
“Good. Very good!” He gave a nod.
The other man who was suspended was pleading for his release.
“Come in. Go ahead, clap.” Putting more pressure on his neck, he said.
When the elder finally let him go, he nearly passed out and collapsed to the ground in an attempt to breathe.
He told us, “Now let us give the alpha the credit he deserves.”
They started to applaud, “Long live the alpha,” and Daniel felt stronger for once.
