Chapter 511: I Will Take Her Away

Callie made up her mind and didn’t make things difficult for herself. She sat down in the wheelchair, unwilling to leave.
“You…”
Regan couldn’t do anything about her and had to stand by her side and wait. During this time, because the sun was too hot, she went inside to ask a servant for an umbrella.
Callie’s mind was still racing. “Is Marilyn not here?”
“They say she has a high fever, but that’s just an excuse. She’s been very busy these days, probably taking over some affairs, leaving early and coming back late.”
With Marilyn not around, things were less complicated.
“What about Isaac? What does he do every day?”
“He handles some small tasks Ahmad gives him. He has money at hand and lives like a carefree rich boy.”
For Isaac, being the eldest son and ending up like this was quite a failure.
“Does he… still hit you?”
Regan gave a helpless smile. “Depends on his mood. When he’s in a good mood, he doesn’t hit.”
In the top floor of the Ellison family house, in the study on the far left.
Ahmad stood on a ladder, taking books from the shelf to read, his posture quite worrying. Jaquan held the ladder from below. “You are in good shape. When I reach your age, I probably won’t even be able to walk steadily.”
He knew how to talk. Ahmad was amused by him. “If you drink less and spend less time on women, your health will improve even if you don’t want it to.”
“No way around it. Doing business means drinking and dealing with women,” Jaquan replied with a smile. Seeing Ahmad about to come down, he reached out to support him. “Why don’t you think of a way to let me retire early?”
Ahmad laughed again.
The two of them sat in the study and chatted for two hours. Jaquan didn’t talk about anything serious, just being there to keep Ahmad company. But Ahmad seemed distracted, frequently looking out the window.
Jaquan noticed his restlessness and mentioned casually, “When I came in, I seemed to see that woman with Nelson. What’s going on…”
“She’s here for the Oconnor Group.” Ahmad’s eyes turned fierce. “She really is in cahoots with Nelson! Ungrateful!”
“I think so too. But it looks like it’s going to rain heavily. Better get rid of her quickly to avoid trouble.” Jaquan played with the watch on his wrist casually, his tone equally indifferent.
Ahmad then called a servant. “Go outside and take a look.”
Soon, the servant came back to report, “Mr. Ellison, they are still outside. It looks like it’s going to rain heavily.”
Ahmad slammed his teacup down in frustration. “Stubborn! Does she think she can threaten me like this? She’s dreaming!”
Summer weather changes quickly. There was a sudden thunderclap outside. Jaquan’s heart skipped a beat, and he couldn’t sit still any longer. “I should be going anyway, Mr. Ellison. Let me handle this trouble for you.”
Ahmad closed his eyes and rubbed his temples, saying nothing.
Jaquan got up and almost ran out of the Ellison family house.
The rain had already started outside. Even though Regan held an umbrella for Callie, she still got wet. She was shivering from the cold, her face extremely pale, as if she could faint at any moment.
In an instant, Jaquan felt a surge of anger. He ran over quickly and shouted at Callie in the rain, “Are you trying to kill yourself!”
Callie was too weak to speak.
Regan tried to step forward with the umbrella, but Jaquan had already picked Callie up in his arms and stopped her. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll take her away!”
With that, he carried Callie to the car and drove off quickly.
