Chapter 510: Not Seeing

“I didn’t mean that…” Regan gritted his teeth, opened the door, and got out of the car. “Wait here, I’ll go in and talk.”
Callie stood at the entrance of the Ellison family estate. The wind was strong, and she wrapped her clothes tightly around her, feeling the summer breeze cut through her like a knife.
She carefully observed the layout of the Ellison family estate. It was decorated in a classic style and was larger than the Paucaster Villa. There was a large fountain at the entrance, and many flowers were planted along the path. It looked more like a castle than a home.
And Marilyn was the princess of this castle.
Thinking of this, Callie suddenly felt that Marilyn’s condescension and innate sense of superiority were normal.
After five minutes, Regan hurried out and was startled to see her standing there. “Why did you get out? Can you stand? Does it hurt?”
Callie shook her head. “How did it go?”
Regan looked troubled. “Ahmad said… he won’t see you.”
As expected.
Callie pondered for a moment. “Please go back and tell him that I wish to speak as an old acquaintance.”
Regan was shocked. “Are you crazy?”
An old acquaintance meant Maevelyn, Ahmad’s treasured daughter. How could she be used like this?
“I have no other choice. Let’s try.” She needed Ahmad’s support.
She had never thought that her face, which resembled Maevelyn’s, would be so important.
While waiting for Regan to come out, a blue Bentley suddenly drove in. The license plate was all eights, very ostentatious. Callie couldn’t think of anyone else in Ylosea who owned this car.
Jaquan got out of the car and quickly walked up to her. The smile on his face faded as he saw her.
He glanced at the wheelchair beside her and his voice turned cold. “What happened? Weren’t you fine before going to Afupshire?”
Callie still had the mood to joke. “Mr. Scott has a good memory. Isn’t this thanks to you?”
Jaquan turned his face away to hide his emotions, his tone hard. “Let’s not talk about this between us.”
But thinking about how Nelson had fallen into such a difficult situation, Callie couldn’t help but be sarcastic. “The outside world doesn’t know that Scott Group is involved in Oconnor Group’s predicament. You’ve kept yourself clean. You must be very proud now, so why come to the Ellison family?”
Jaquan stared at their overlapping shadows on the ground. “Do you have to talk like this?”
Callie turned her face away.
There was a silent tension between them.
Regan came out and saw this scene. He paused before saying to Callie, “Ahmad won’t see you. He got angry.”
Callie closed her eyes in frustration and gritted her teeth. “Then tell him if he doesn’t see me, I’ll wait here forever.”
This made not only Regan anxious but also Jaquan, who sneered coldly. “Mrs. Oconnor, you’re really tough, willing to wait here in poor health to save your husband.”
Callie looked straight ahead without answering.
Jaquan ignored her and quickly entered the Ellison family estate, presumably to find Ahmad.
“You’re crazy. I’ll find another way for you, okay? How can you wait with your condition?” Regan started to get angry.
“Regan, I’m sure this incident is related to Marilyn. Ahmad may not know about it. I need to explain it to him and ask him to cooperate with Oconnor Group,” Callie said firmly.
“Even if it’s related to Marilyn, she’s his daughter. Do you think he’ll choose an outsider over his own daughter?”
“Businessmen always prioritize profit. I’m confident as long as I can see him.”
