Adrian watched his dad walk away. He doesn’t owe him an explanation why he would give such assets, in raw and solid form, to an ex-girlfriend of his simply because she’s his son’s mother?
He is working hard for the family and his dad did such things without letting him know? How can he give the twin mansion to an ex?
As massive as the Lester family is, they still haven’t finished occupying the whole rooms in it. It’s an exact twin, he gave it to Luna and claims he owned him with no explanation?
Adrian doesn’t know how long he remained on the balcony. All he remembers was that he became very cold before he decided to get back in. Things have to be different now.
A week passed and Adrian decided to check on Patrick again. His heart kept going to him. Seeing he was not interested in talking to him on the phone, he decided to visit his new company.
Since it was lunch time, Patrick might be in his right mind and have become calm. Then he would coax him for lunch. That would be great.
When he got there, he was surprised that the place had become a large company. Thanks to Aurora, he thought she had helped Patrick and they are partners.
While he approached the elevator to get into it, the elevator opened and two people stepped out, holding each other’s hands, and talking with excitement.
It was Patrick and Aurora. Adrian was shocked when he saw them. He stood there, both of them saw him and didn’t even feel guilty about it at all.
“Hi, Adrian” Patrick said flippantly and walked past him. Aurora also didn’t give a damn. She didn’t spare him a glance or a Hi like Patrick did.
She was dressed in a designer suit and wore a dark shade. They got away to the parking lot and their chauffeur drove them off. Adrian stood and watched the whole drama.
When those friends left, he turned around and left. Aurora was in New Jersey and he didn’t know? Even if he does, what use is it?
He came to see him but he has company already. Maybe it’s not worth it trying to pursue Patrick. He would only see him one more time and ask him questions. After that, their relationship will be defined.
Aurora was no longer feeling at ease. She took a flight to New Jersey the previous evening to see the company. They’ve decided the headquarters of the company will be in New Jersey.
She’ll definitely be returning to X-city the next day. Henceforth Patrick handles things. She’s going back to concentrate on her profession. She’s doing all these for two reasons, Appreciate Patrick Connor for standing by her mom back then.
And secondly, to make Adrian know that the world does not revolve around him. He can’t just see himself as the mighty Lester family heir.
She glanced back at Adrian when she got into the car earlier. She didn’t expect Patrick’s courtesy to be so light and carefree. Are they having issues unsolved?
At lunch, she told Patrick that she’d divorced. Adrian sent her the papers already and they are not a couple anymore. She’s also happy that he doesn’t look like the man in the theatre she saw that day. He’s the cold aura Adrian Lester again.
Patrick said he hopes they have a smooth relationship with each other henceforth. And that he hopes she finds happiness and love for real.
But he skipped telling her why he didn’t really pause to talk to Adrian. He smiled and didn’t say anything to every question that concerns that.
That evening, Adrian had his men find out about Patrick’s movement and it was discovered that he went to the club with Aurora.
He got there. Is Patrick dating Aurora? They were together, talking about what only they knew of. Adrian approached him and Aurora shivered when she saw his looks.
“Patrick, I need to talk to you” Adrian declared. His expression was cold and the kind of aura coming from him at that moment was such that he was like the Adrian Lester she used to know as her husband during her life in the Lester family.
“Can’t you see that I am in the company of someone else?” Patrick demanded. Adrian is going to cause a fuss here. Why do they have to meet again?
“The more reason why I need to talk to you. If you don’t come with me this minute, I’ll do the worse” Adrian threatened.
Aurora tapped on Patrick’s hand and beckoned him to go. She doesn’t want to create a scene or make heads turned in her direction unnecessarily.
Patrick stood up and stepped out with Adrian. “Are you hurting me on purpose by being with Aurora? You know she’s my…” Adrian was saying when Patrick intercepted, “Your ex.
I don’t know how you mean by hurting you on purpose. Do you want her to remain single because she was married to you once in her life? She’d moved on, what’s your problem?” Patrick demanded.
“And you’re that man she’s moved on with? Are you simply partners or lovers? If Aurora is to be with someone else, don’t let it be you. I beg you, you’ll drive me crazy” Adrian scowled.
He can’t take it. He cannot see Aurora with Patrick. He would die of a heart attack and that would make him hate his brother, an old friend for many years.
Adrian’s words sweetened Patrick. “I don’t know what your problem is, Adrian. If you think seeing her with someone else, especially if that person is me, will make you uncomfortable, then you deserve it.
Officially, Aurora and I are together now. And there’s nothing you can do about it. I’d advise that you go back and nurse your wound until you get healed enough to accept the reality of us being together” Patrick taunt.
He wants to play with his emotions a bit. What does it look like to see a woman he loves being with someone else? It hurts, his mother definitely hurts back then when she realised that Richard had hooked up with Anna, the schemer.
“Have you always had your eyes on her, Patrick? All those while you attack me because of her, was it because you were desiring her to be yours?” Adrian asked, his heart beating fast.
“Yes. You’re smart this time. You don’t value her, I did. I fell in love with her and now, things are naturally falling into place for me without putting any effort into it.
If that’s all you want to know, I’ve given you the answers that you seek. Next time, don’t interrupt me when I’m with Aurora again. Excuse me” Patrick replied and went away.
When he left Adrian, he felt like a part of him was bleeding. He loves Adrian. His words would hurt him. But they were not true. Aurora is a friend and that’s what she would ever be to him.
“Why did you do this to me, Patrick, why did you do it…” Adrian stuttered, going back to his car with heavy footsteps.
