Chapter 508: Return to Ylosea

Returning to Ylosea, Nelson’s eye twitching had not improved. After an entire meeting, the twitching nearly drove him to anger.
He felt that something significant was happening.
Nelson rubbed his temples, unable to endure the palpitations any longer. He abruptly closed his laptop. “Go see if anything is happening with my wife.”
Anthony was surprised and asked quietly, “But didn’t you say…”
A sharp look from Nelson silenced him immediately.
He still remembered Nelson’s wistful words on the plane when Callie was mentioned, “I made her too conspicuous, which is harmful to her. I must endure for the future.”
The secretary was stunned, not expecting Nelson’s feelings for Callie to be so deep that he was planning for the future.
The Ellison family was not to be trifled with. Once they targeted Callie, she would be in great danger. Now that the Oconnor Group was in trouble, Nelson couldn’t protect her completely.
Anthony hurried out of the meeting room and ran into Bridger. “What’s going on? What are his instructions that you’re in such a rush?”
“Oh, Mr. Oconnor is worried about his wife and wants me to check on her.”
Bridger was surprised and glanced inside before pulling Anthony aside. “I already checked on her when you returned to Ylosea. She’s fine at the hotel, just worried about us.”
Anthony was puzzled. “You checked on her?”
Bridger nodded with pursed lips. “You don’t need to check again. Just report back as I said and let him focus on his work. And you, have you finished your tasks?”
“Not yet.”
“Then go.”
Anthony nodded but still felt something was off, though he couldn’t pinpoint what it was.
Callie had been in the hospital for a few days and felt slightly better. Seeing Mollie taking care of her every day made her feel embarrassed.
“Mollie, I want to go back to Ylosea.”
Mollie frowned. “Are you kidding? You just had a car accident. You can’t move around easily.”
“It’s just some superficial wounds. I’ll be fine with a little care. I can manage.” Callie insisted.
“Aren’t you waiting for Nelson?”
“I’ve been reading the news these past few days and see the media using Grandpa as a topic. He’s old and holding down the Oconnor Group; I don’t know if his health can take it. I’m worried and need to go back to check on him. My dad has called me several times too.”
Callie explained patiently. The Oconnor Group had not improved, which worried her. Instead of sitting idly in Afupshire, it was better to return to Ylosea and see the situation.
“You…” Mollie was in a dilemma. After that day, Bridger had required her to take good care of Callie, and she agreed. As a woman, she felt it wasn’t worth it for Callie. If changing the environment could help, it might be worth a try.
“Mollie, if Bridger can keep you by his side in those places, you must have your strengths. You can help me, right?” Callie spoke slowly. “Consider it a favor I’ll owe you.”
Mollie had no choice.
Summer had not ended yet. On the plane, everyone wore short sleeves and shorts, except for Callie, who wore a thick sweater due to her frail health, making her look out of place.
Early in the morning, Regan was already waiting at the airport. Seeing Callie, he immediately rushed over with a coat. “How are you? Are you adapting? Quickly cover up; the airport air conditioning is strong. Don’t catch a cold.”
Mollie handed Callie in the wheelchair over to him and asked, “Can you manage?”
Callie nodded gratefully. “He’s my friend; don’t worry.”
