Chapter 61
“Ava, wait for me! Come back here!” Alpha Jude said in his sleep as he rolled to the other side of the bed
He suddenly opened his eyes, panting for a brief moment before wiping his face with his palm any inhaling deeply to calm his racing heart.
“Just another stupid dream.” He lamented, hissing as he took a deep breath, getting off the bed and walking into the bathroom. He stopped in front of the mirror to look at his reflection in the mirror. Noticing some dark circles around his eyes, he used his index finger to massage the spot around his eyes gently.
He eased his himself, and waled back to his room slowly, sinking himself into the bed again. He looked directly at the ceiling for a moment before scoffing as he turned sideways to lay on his right arm, heaving a heavy sigh of frustration.
“You will be mine soon. I guarantee that!” He whispered to himself and suddenly recalled the call that he received last night from Princess, telling him that the job was done. He smirked vicious, bringing forth his left hand and started to slowly clenched it into a fist. “There is no way he is not going to react to that positively. He will definitely confront her about it, and she would not be able to deny.” He thought and his smirked widened as he felt a little excited about the latest development.
“I must start thinking of the next part of the plan. There is no way I would leave the rest of the plan in the hands of that clueless princess.” He thought and the smirk on his face slowly vanished and replaced by a straight face. He laid there for a moment before realizing that he needed to get prepared for work. Standing up from the bed and hurriedly walking into the bathroom, he did not spend much time in the bathroom. He came out of the bathroom and started to get dressed.
His phone suddenly chimed, and he went over to the edge of the bed to see who it was and to his surprise, he met the message of one of his secretaries in the office. “Good morning, alpha Jude, You have some visitors waiting for you.” The message read, and he hissed, tossing the phone to the middle of the bed before he heaved a sigh and continued, putting on his dress. He suddenly had the urge to call princess and ask her to meet him.
“Nah. There would be no need for that at all. I am sure that she is going to call me. She needs the next phase of the plan more than I do.” He said to himself, as he finished dressing. Not long after, he walked out of the room to the dining area, clearing his throat to register his presence.
“Good morning alpha.” Several maids greeted in unison and bowed their head to greet him as he walked slowly.
“Morning to all of you.” He responded sharply and sat down on his chair. A maid walked up to him and served him his breakfast. He ate his food quickly and went back to his room to finish and leave for work. He got into the room and picked up his phone and car keys, rushing out of the room to his car. Not long after, he arrived at the office and went straight to his office, shutting the door rapidly. He walked straight to his seat, exhaling rapidly as he sat on his chair and switch on his computer.
While he waited for it to boot, his mind wandered off to the possibility that he could still have a chance with Ava. He smiled, knowing fully well that he was improving in learning how to be a father to her inborn child. The computer made a sound, jolting him from his reverie as he looked at the screen of the computer.
“Let’s get to work.” He said and started to press his keyboards. The thought of Ava constantly filtered into his heart, casing him to lose focus on his work, as he could not take his mind off her.
“Perhaps I should call Princess so that we can plan on what next to do.” He whispered to himself and pulled his phone out of his pocket. He scrolled through his contact, and his eyes caught her contact.
“What a surprise! I almost thought I made a mistake calling you at this early hour. I thought you wood still be in bed.” He said immediately the call connected, heaving a heavy sigh as he leaned backwards and swirled around on his chair.
“I woke up early today. I could not get much sleep, especially after the success in the first phase of our plan.” She said, and the expression on his face slowly changed into a straight one. Alpha Jude kept mute for a moment as different thoughts ran through his mind. “What should be the next thing to do at this point?” He questioned himself and heaved a sigh as he leaned forward to rest his hands on the armrest of the chair. After a little moment of deliberation, he finally came up with a plan, clearing his throat slightly before he talked.
“We are meeting today. Same time as always. I might have some ideas about the next phase of the plan. Meanwhile, I know he is going to confront her about it, and she would not be able to deny it.” Alpha Jude said, and waited for her to talk, but she did not talk immediately. He heard her heave a sigh before she talked.
“Exactly! I am on my way to the office. I will gather as much information as I can. We will talk more when I come later.” She said, and the call ended abruptly. Alpha Jude, slowly brought the phone off his ears and placed it on the table, drowning himself in thoughts. He tried to imagine the whole situation about how alpha Damon would react to the discovery that his mate, the one he had tried so hard to get, was seeing another strange person and also pregnant for him.
The knock that came suddenly on the door, jolted him from his reverie as he quickly tilted his head to look at the door, wondering who was there at that moment. “But I am not expecting anyone this time. But princess cannot be here at this moment.” He thought before the knock came again, and he was forced to answer the knock.
“Come in!” He yelled, and the door opened immediately, revealing one of his secretaries as she walked in slowly, holding a file.
“Good morning alpha Jude,” she greeted in a low tone as she bowed her head slowly before halting in front of the desk.
“Good morning.” He replied in a sharp tone, and she cleared her throat slightly, before she talked.
“This is the file you asked for yesterday.” She said in a low tone, and he nodded slowly, stretching his hands to get the file from her. He looked at the content of the document for a moment before nodding his head.
“I will go through it and get back to you if I need anything.” He said, and she nodded, turning around to leave the office but stopped abruptly, turning back around to look at the alpha to talk.
“There are some people who have been here to see you since.” She said, and he gave her a stern look for a moment as different thoughts ran through his mind.
“I am currently not in the state to talk to anyone . You could ask them to leave and come back some other time.” He said, and she nodded her head, turning around to leave the office. He picked up his phone and went to his gallery, putting up Ava’s picture and started to look at it. His heart raced faster as he looked at the picture with utmost admiration.
Time went by really fast and his day was boring, less of activities. He checked his time and saw that it was almost time for Princess to arrive. Just then, he heard a car drive in, and he knew that it was princess. Not long after, he heard some footstep approaching the door. He braced himself, sitting properly, before the knock came in on his door.
“Come in!” He said and made his face strong as he did not want to laugh with her. She walked in and for some reason that he did not understand, she did not uttering a single word and sat on the chair in front of alpha Damon.
“What is going on? You did not even say any form of greeting, you badged into my office and just say down without ….” he tried to talk, but his words were cut up in his throat, and she scoffed in a way.
“You asked me to come in. Why then would you be cold on me? Is this still about that plan that I ….” She said but resorted to gesturing as she did not know what to say.
“Yes. It would always be about it. You are lucky that you were able to pull this one-off. It not, I would have no choice but to take you off this deal and get through to it myself, while denying your image in the process.” He said, and different thoughts ran through her mind at that moment. She cleared her through slightly, thinking of what next to say, but nothing was coming to her mind.
