Chapter 60
The morning came longer than expected as princess rose from the bed. She sat up on the bed, heaving a sigh as she looked around the room as if she were looking for something in particular. She yawned, stretching out her arms and just then, she began to recall what went on the previous night when she told alpha Damon about Ava’s extra affairs and her pregnancy. “That should keep him off her for a while and perhaps give me the opportunity to get back into his heart.” She wondered, yawning again as she slowly smirked. Suddenly, she caught a scent, and it was no other person than alpha Damon.
“I don’t want to see him nor talk to him this morning.” She whispered to herself and quickly laid back on the bed, covering up herself with the duvet. The way she laid, no one would not believe that she was not asleep. She heard footsteps approaching louder, and she stayed still, inhaling and exhaling like a sleeping person would do. Just then, the door opened slightly and she felt the presence of Alpha Damon. “He should not come in.” She wished and stayed there, as she did not want to talk to him at all that morning.
“Cute.” She heard him say lowly as if he were whispering, but it was loud enough for her to hear. She heard the door closed, and she heaved a sigh of relief as she sat back on the bed. “Perhaps I should call alpha Jude and ask him the next line of action, or should I wait until he calls?” She asked her anxious self as she did not know what to do at that moment. She got off the bed and walked straight into the bathroom, trying to take a quick shower.
“What if he forgives her and still accepts her with the pregnancy?” A thought suddenly popped up in her mind, causing her to stop what she was doing and allowed the water to run down on her freely. She drowned in her sea of thoughts as she stood under the shower, thinking of so many possibilities that could happen between alpha Damon and Ava. “I don’t know why he loves her so much. Why can’t he see me and leave her alone to be with me? Or am I not good enough?” She kept asking herself under the shower.
“No, there is no way he would still be in love with her after all these. She was clearly half naked in the picture in the most compromising position. And she was pregnant for another person who was not alpha Damon. There was no way that he was going to overlook that and still love her that much. He is definitely going to hate her now and perhaps begin to give me the attention that I desire.” She said to herself, giving herself the confidence she needed at that moment as she tried to cancel the thought of Damon, forgiving Ava for her atrocities.
She quickly got done with her bath and walked back into the room, slowly walking to the closet to select the dress for the day. She was delayed by the thoughts of what could go wrong with the plan and what could go right. She felt her heart racing each time she thought of the whole issue, trying hard to keep herself from thinking about it, but the more she tried, the less she achieved her aim. “I need to see alpha Damon to know his stand on the issue before going any further.”
Not long after, she was done dressing, and she walked slowly to the bed area, sitting gently on the edge of the bed and heaved a sigh. She placed, a palm over her head as if she were trying to recall something. She recalled the expression on his face as his gaze with the picture that he showed him the previous day, as well as the expression on his face when he got to know that she was pregnant. “I hope alpha Jude gets her back and I also get him to myself.” She thought and just then, a knock suddenly came at her door. Jolting her from her reverie.
“Who is there?” She asked as she tilted her to the door but no response was gotten. She wonders who could be at the door. She knew for sure that it could not be alpha Damon because he had already gone to work. It was certain that it could not be him. “Even if he could have forgotten something, he did not have to come and knock on her door again.” She thought as she slowly stood up from the bed. Her earlier question was not answered, and it was probably because she was not loud enough.
The knock came in again and this time even louder. She made a scrunching face as she walked to the door hurriedly, grabbing the doorknob and turning it. The door opened, and her gaze met with the maid, who instantly bowed to her. She gestured in response to the greetings and walked back into her room, while the maid followed behind. “Why is she here?” She asked herself and suddenly remembered that her bedspread was due for a change. She cleared her throat slightly, tilting her head to look at the maid before taking.
“Here to change the sheet on the bed, huh?” She asked, and the maid bowed her head, not uttering a single word. Princess nodded her head, pointing to the closet as she asked her to get the new bedsheet from there to lay on the bed. She walked slowly to the closet and got the bedsheet, heaving a sigh as she pulled out the old one from the bed. Princess walked away from her to the table that was in the room to pick her car keys as she was ready to go to the office. She walked slowly to the door but stopped abruptly as if she remembered something.
“When you are done, make sure to lock the door. I don’t want anyone in here when I am out for work.” She said, and the maid bowed her head, speaking for the first time she came into that room that day.
“Okay milady. I will do as you have just said.” She said in an assuring tone. “As if you have a choice to do otherwise.” Princess, said to herself as she gave her a nod and walked out of the room. Not long after, she got to her car, got in and stared the vehicle.
She stayed there for a while as she quickly thought of something. “I just hope everything goes well. I can’t afford to lose him after putting this much effort.” She thought as she took a deep breath, patting the hair off her face.
Just as she wanted to start moving the car, her phone started to buzz, and she stopped the car abruptly to see who was calling. “Alpha Jude.” She said lowly and put off the engine of her car before picking up the call.
“What a surprise! I almost thought I made a mistake calling you at this early hour. I thought you wood still be in bed.” He said immediately the call connected, and she could not help but chuckle dryly as she was not in for that. All that she thought of at that moment was how to forge ahead with the plan.
“I woke up early today. I could not get much sleep, especially after the success in the first phase of our plan.” She said, trying to bring up the topic for them to talk about. She heard him heave a sigh, and she hoped he was going to talk about the next phase of the plan.
“We are meeting today. Same time as always. I might have some ideas about the plan. Meanwhile, I know he is going to confront her about it, and she would not be able to deny it.” Alpha Jude said, and she only nodded her head slowly as if he were there with her.
“Exactly! I am on my way to the office. I will gather as much information as I can. We will talk more when I come later.” She said, and the call ended abruptly. She heaved a sigh and smirked as she tossed her phone to the seat beside hers, and smirked as she placed her both hands on the staring wheel. She held it tighter and liked in particular direction like some sort of villain in a movie.
“Finally, alpha Jude was talking a bit calm today.” She said and just then, she stated the car and drove straight to the office. After a while, she arrived at the office e and went straight to alpha Damon’s office. She was not all that surprised not to see him in his office. Her guts suddenly told her that he might be in Ava’s office, and she heaved a heavy sigh, walking out of the office.
As she approached the office, she could hear noises coming out of the office. She was careful not to make any noise, as she did not want to draw any attention to herself. The voices that came from that office were not clear enough to understand what they were saying, but it was certainly that two people were having a heat argument. Just then, she heard footsteps approaching the door, and she quickly got somewhere to hide. Ava walked out of the door, hastily, banging the door as hard as she could. Shortly after, alpha Damon walked out of the office.
“This is just the end of the beginning.” She whispered to herself and smirked.
