Chapter 50
Princess watched in anger as he stormed out of the house for the millionth time. It had been two weeks already, and she had not had another chance to show him the pictures.
She blamed it widely on the attack on the barn but still, he seemed to be too invested in these things it became so annoying.
Alpha Damon most likely had forgotten about their conversation since he never came to “continue” where they had stopped, or rather where they had been so rudely interrupted.
She had barely even seen him around the house since the incident, being in one meeting or the other, trying to sort out one problem or the other.
And he had pushed her a little farther away than she had expected, it was part of his bad habits, to push people away when he was trying to sort an issue or find a solution to an issue.
She had accepted it, it was him. It was how he dealt with things, but he had gone extra this time. Consciously stayed out of his way and gave him as much space as she thought he might need.
But it seemed like the more space she gave him, the more he wanted, and now she was not just an arm’s length away, she was a whole ass acre away from him.
Princess hated it, not only was it going to try to limit her chances at having him back, but when alpha Damon withdrew into his shell and put on his cloak of workaholism it was difficult to get him out of them.
To think she had been so close, so close to having him hate Ava for life and having the opportunity of having him all to herself. But things had not gone like she had wanted them to.
Of all days, they had chosen, that day to attack the barn, taking every bit of the little attention that she had gotten from him.
Grumpily, walking back into her room, Princess got ready for the office. It was more stressful than ever and told on her since her object of obsession was nowhere in sight half the time.
Alpha Damon was her major motivation and the reason she had stuck to coming to the office and now that he was too busy finding the culprits behind the attack and fixing the damage, he was barely there.
Which made it boring as she did not have anything to keep her occupied as his presence did. She knew that not going would only make her look indolent and loafing.
Getting ready for work ahead glanced at her phone at the countless messages she had sent Alpha Jude over the last few days. He had every reason to be angry at her, but she could not help it.
She had thought her idea and approach were much better, but as it seemed, it was nowhere near what Alpha Jude had planned.
It looked like she was at the losing end, even though Ava did not seem like she would mention a word of the pregnancy, she knew it would come to light, and he would definitely suspect it to be he’s.
And now while he needed alpha Jude more than ever, he had chiseled to ignore her completely. She had sent him messages to meet and even went up to the lakeside but he had not shown up, that was how angry she was at her.
So what if she went to him this time, to see him face to face? If the mountain does not go to Ali, then Ali will go to the mountain.
But what if Ava was there, she would suspect something and that would not be good for Alpha Jude’s image as he was still trying to have her back.
She would make them speak privately, in the comfort of his office, that way Ava would have no idea what they were talking about.
Satisfied with her decision to go to Alpha Jude’s before she went to work, Princess got ready for her day, she lazed about for a few minutes before she started to get ready.
Deciding to wear something very formal, Princess went with a black ankle-length dress with a high slit at the back and an off-shoulder.
A dust of blush to add color to her pale skin and lip gloss. She smiled at her reflection in the nitro and picked up her bag to head out of the house.
The ride to Mist Wood was a rather long one, a little longer than Princess remembered it to be. She had to take off her shoe to ease the slow ache that was creeping up her feet from it.
She sighed in relief when she saw the building in sight. Happy that she was finally at her destination.
The mist wood mansion stood rather too quietly for that time of the day, it was usually all hustle and bustle in a mansion this big.
She saw Alpha Jude’s car parked, and she was grateful she had caught him at home. Slowing to a stop, Princess parked and stepped out of the car.
Taking in a long breath, she noticed how the air in Mist Wood felt very different from the one in West Wood. It was not just misty, and had a wet rainy smell, unlike in west wood where the air was tropical.
Perhaps because West Wood had a wide variety of woodlands and forests compared to Mist Wood. The guards that stood around gave her weird looks, and the princess put on her most serious expression, giving her an added air of importance.
She walked in, she had been here before so she fairly knew her way around, the giant hallway stood large, and she stared at her surroundings, willing herself to remember.
They had gone through the left stairs the last time, so she followed the left stairs, the floor making falling sounds after her.
She was right, the study was just right ahead of her, knocking lightly when she got to the door. The silence that followed was rather too loud, and princess knocked again to fill it up.
“Come in.” He said quietly, and Princess pushed the door open and walked in. The expression on his face when he saw her was not a welcoming one, and princess knew she should have expected it a long time ago.
“Hi,” Princess said in her most meek voice, she wanted to win him back slowly instead of fighting. She wanted his trust again, and the only way she knew she could get it was by going as humbly as she could and starting all over.
“Hello. What brings you here.” Alpha Jude asked, his eyes going back to the computer in front of him. Working like he had not even seen her there.
“May I sit?” The Princess asked walking slowly towards his desk.
“If you wish.” Was all alpha, Jude murmured and Princess took a seat, setting her bag on the desk while she stared at him.
“Are you going to ignore me forever?” Princess asked, studying him for any signs of softness whatsoever.
“I am busy princess,” Alpha Jude said, his eyes glued to his screen in keen attention.
“Look, I am so sorry I did not go with the plan.” Princess apologized, his eyes snapped up to look at her and when they met hers, he looked away.
Perhaps he was surprised that she just apologized, or he had heard the sincerity in that apology. Whatever he had heard princess just hoped he would speak to her again.
“I just had a stupid idea and I thought it would work out, just turns out you are better at these things than me,” Princess said, trying to get him to speak, say anything.
“What was your plan? And why did you think it was better than mine?” Alpha Jude finally said. His gaze on her was defiant and stubborn like he was trying to see what gave her the effrontery to even think of doing the opposite of what he said.
Princess never felt so small and stupid in the presence of someone as she did in his presence at that moment.
“Look, if you de going to work with me in any form and way, I need you to undertake that I do not appreciate sudden changes in my plans.” He stated rather too coldly, but Princess knew she was in no place to complain, she had done that so she would bear it.
“Now, we have to plan properly, and I would like you to follow everything accordingly instead of diverting to what you think would suit you.” Alpha Jude said in a tone of finality.
The princess sighed in relief, finally, there was some plan to hope on, she had thought it was the end, but turns out it was not. She trusted Alpha Jude to come up with the perfect plan.
