Chapter 27
Princess waited patiently, tapping her fingers slowly on the dining table. He was running a little later than usual, but princess was determined to wait.
“Look who is here” princess slurred as alpha Damon walked into the dining room.
His jacket was still in his hand, flung lazily over one shoulder.
“What did I miss?” He asked as he sat down, squinting his eyes as he gazed at her suspiciously.
“Oh nothing.” Princess said, giving him that mischievous look while her eyes held something back.
Alpha Damon wondered what it was she might have found out. Princess was never like this, except when she had made a discovery, and a shocking one at that.
Focusing on the food and feeding his hungry stomach, alpha Damon glanced at her occasionally, her eyes never leaving him
Watching him closely like a hawk. “You should eat too” he said as he paused to acknowledge her.
Her plate still looked pack and her eyes were still on him.
“Oh I am,” Princess said, pushing a spoonful of food into her mouth as proof.
Soon they were done, and alpha Damon dabbed his mouth clean with a napkin and stood up to leave the table.
He could still feel princess’s eyes on him.
“You know you should just say what is on your mind instead of just staring blankly at me, it’s unnerving,” he said as he stood up and walked towards his room.
Princess followed close behind him quietly, he wanted to stop her but refrained from it, she prob had something she wanted to say, he thought.
He turned the knob to his door and pushed it open slightly, before turning to face Princess. He gave her a look that said, “Are you coming in” and she nodded.
“I need to talk to you.” Was Al, she said before she pushed past him into the room.
Alpha Damon did not like the idea of a princess In his room, not even a little. She had tried to seduce him before outside, and now that they were in this room, she might have just enough leverage.
“What do you want to talk about?” Alpha Damon asked, kicking his shoes off his feet and flinging his jacket across the room onto an empty sitter couch in the corner.
“Oh, it is about your sweet little Ava.” She said with a sinister look.
“What about Ava?” Alpha Damon asked, he wondered what she might have found out.
From the look on her face, alpha Damon said it was something that excited her to tell.
“I found out who she really is, alpha Damon” Princess said in a slurring voice.
Alpha Damon shut his eyes tight, no way that she had found out the truth about Ava.
He most certainly will not hear the end of it.
“What truth is there about her?” alpha Damon asked, he would rather not seem like he already knew.
“Do you remember Mitchell of West Wood from high school?” Princess asked as she paced his room, occasionally touching things and straightening stuff.
“Her father was the beta of the pack then, and she was assigned to be with you as her very first assignment.” Princess continued, not letting him answer her first question
Alpha Damon knew exactly what she was doing. She wanted to make sure he heard and understood every word she said.
Wanting the gravity of this truth to seep right into and through him. She wanted him to feel it deeply, the guilt, the shame, all of it.
“The same Mitchell who you bullied and hated so much. The same one you spent every day of high school humiliating.” Princess continued taking cautious steps towards him.
That same Mitchell is our now Ava, the Ava that you are madly in love with, the same Ava that you reek of Every time you come back from the office.” Princess said now in front of him
“You hated her so much, alpha Damon, you despised her very existence,” Princess said, lifting a finger to tilt his head in her direction when he dared to look away.
“How do you love her so much now?” She asked.
Alpha Damon did not know how to answer that, or where to start answering. All he knew was that he was in love with her from the first time he had kissed her in that hallway.
And while the past haunted him day and night, he could not do anything about it apart from loving her even more.
Yes, he had been cruel to her, and he had no excuse, no justifications. But he was a changed man now, and fate had deemed it fit for him to not just be mated to the same woman, but he had also fallen deeply in love with her.
“I do not have an answer to that,” Alpha Damon said weakly, he hated how much the thoughts of what he did to Ava in the past weighed him down.
And now that it was all coming from princess, it felt even worse.
“All that is in the last princess, I am a changed man and so is Ava, a changed woman.” Alpha Damon said.
“No she is not, underneath all that charade of strength lies a woman who would never forget what you did,” Princess said
She could tell she was doing good by the look on his face. He looked as if he wanted to go back to the past and correct all his wrongs, but it was too late for that.
“Princess you have to stop.” Alpha Damon said, unable to take the hurt anymore.
“Stop what?”. Princess asked, “Telling you the truth? That no matter how much you think you love her, there will always be that hatred for her somewhere.”
“Alpha Damon,” princess called softly, “she does not love you either, she will make you fall deeper and then strike, pay you back generously in your coin.” She said, stressing the last part.
“Why are you doing this?” alpha Damon asked.
He still could not wrap his head around why she had as doing this, there could be a hundred and one reasons.
“Just letting you see that no matter what it is she makes you think, I will always be the one that has been here for you and with you, Damon.” Princess said.
He held his breath when she walked even closer, her head tilted back as she looked up at him.
She had a look on her face that he could not quite read, but he did not like it either
Her hands trailed up his arm and went around his neck, bringing his head down slowly until hers.
Alpha Damon wanted to stop her, knew he should bite before he could be his lips were already pressed against hers, and she held onto his neck tightly.
She sucked I’m his lips, tasting him sweetly. Princess closed her eyes as she savored the feel and the moment.
Alpha Damon kissed her back, he needed to be sure that he felt nothing for her, that no matter what she did it would always be Ava, Ava, or no other woman.
Her hands left his neck, trailing all around his chest and stiff torso. Her fingers were cold, compared to Ava’s.
Ava always had a warm touch, the type that made this head lull back to pure pleasure.
But the princess’s touch was cold, the type that made him want to flinch and jump away from it, but he resisted the urge.
Letting her do her thing, giving her a few minutes of bliss. To imagine being with him, something that would not happen, not I’m this lifetime alpha, Damon thought.
Her hands slowly trailed down to the waistband of his pants, her fingers going lower as she wrapped around his still-flaccid dick.
Nothing she would do would turn him on, only one person knew how to turn him on by just smiling at him, and that person was not her.
Princess sighed into the flat kiss when she found his dick still flaccid. She had expected him to be hard and ready for some pounding, but she was mistaken.
Ava had dug deeper into his soul than she had imagined or thought.
There was no coming back, alpha Damon was already deeply in love with her, she could tell.
Feeling it was already enough embarrassment, Princess slowly broke off the kiss, pushing away from alpha Damon as she stared up at him.
She could not tell if it was just her, but he had a look that read, “You can’t be her” and as much as the princess did not want it to, it hurt her very much.
“You look tired, I should let you sleep,” she said as she turned to leave.
“Thank you.” Alpha Damon said lacking something better to say.
He watched her walk out of the room, slamming the door shut, her anger rolling behind her as she walked out.
