Pandora’s POV
A scream rang out in the house, followed by Rolan jumping out of the bed and rushing out, grabbing his robe as he ran out. I followed suit, grabbing a robe and hurrying outside too.
“Oh shit! My water broke.” I heard Kiara say, and Wilson stood in front of her with an Orange juice, looking as confused as ever.
“Rolan, get her bag from the room. We have to take her to the clinic. She is going into labor.” I yelled orders and Rolan ran back upstairs to get her bag.
“I am going to get the car. Wilson, you will carry her to the car, I doubt if she will be able to walk for long or even fast enough.” I said, and Wilson nodded his head in understanding.
Hurrying out of the palace, I asked one of the guards to bring the car around, and soon, the two men rushed outside, one carrying Kiara and Rolan carrying her hospital bag.
Quickly, the guard brought the car and soon, we were on our way to the Pack’s clinic. The drive had been very swift as I drove the car myself and sped along the highway. It was late at night and no one was walking or driving on the roads usually at this time.
“Pandora! Are we not there yet?” Kiara screamed and clutched her stomach just as I eased into the clinic’s premises.
Rolan had already called and informed them of our arrival beforehand. I knew that Kiara did not want to be alone, so I was ready to go in with her. Shockingly, the doctor dragged Wilson with them into the labor room and handed him some sterilized clothes to wear.
Kiara had held on tightly to him throughout the ride to the hospital, and now he was being thrown into the labor room with her. He did not seem to mind though, but I knew that he didn’t like seeing so much blood.
“Are you okay?” Rolan’s concerned voice interrupted my thoughts.
“Yes, I am. It’s just that I am worried about Wilson. He does not like seeing a lot of blood. It makes him faint, I think.” I explained, expressing my concerns to Rolan.
“It’s a good thing that we are in the hospital then. I’m sure that the doctors thought that he was her husband or at least the father of the baby. Considering how tightly she had been holding him, he didn’t flinch.” He comforted me, drawing me into a warm hug.
“You are sure?” I asked even though I was calm already.
“When have I ever not been sure?” He asked and I laughed.
“I wonder what Eric is doing right now. He is missing the birth of his first child. A total stranger is in that room with his mate, and he does not know about it because he does not care” I sighed.
“Don’t worry about him. Kiara won’t need him. I’m sure she can get everything she wants.” Rolan said and led me to a seat.
For over three hours, we waited for anyone to come out of the labor room, but no one did and all we heard were Kiara’s occasional screams.
Since no one had rushed in, it could only mean that Wilson was still fine and had not fainted yet. I was beginning to get worried when one of the doctors who had met us right at the door, came out with his face full of smiles.
“My king, My Luna.” He greeted us before removing his facemask.
“How’s she?” I asked immediately.
“She is fine. The baby is fine too. She had a girl. You will be able to see her once they move her into one of the rooms.” He said, and I hugged Rolan tightly.
“Don’t kill me, Pandora.” I heard him whisper and let go of his neck.
“Sorry,” I said and started smiling.
“What is funny?” He asked me.
“There’s no way my tiny hands can do any damage to you,” I scoffed, and he laughed.
“You are right.” He agreed.
“Sorry to interrupt, I just want to commend her husband. He loves her very much, and he did not leave her side even for a minute. He named her right after she was born and placed in his arms”. The doctor finished, and that made me stop in my tracks.
How could Wilson name Kiara’s baby? He barely even knew her. I wondered how Kiara felt about this, that was if she even knew about the whole naming process that has already happened.
“Oh, that’s great, doctor. Just let us know when we can go in and see her.” Rolan said and led me away quickly, he must have seen the look on my face and figured that I did not like what I had been told.
“How could he do something like that?” I asked myself, not knowing that I had spoken loud enough for Rolan to hear what I was saying.
“Wait, don’t do anything until you hear from him. I’m sure there is an explanation for this somehow.” Rolan said in an attempt to comfort me.
Shortly after, a nurse came to inform us that Kiara had been moved to a room, and we could go in now. Without even bothering to acknowledge what the nurse had said, I took the room card from her and immediately hurried there.
“What the bloody hell is wrong with you Wilson, why would you name her baby?” I demanded as soon as I saw Wilson.
“I didn’t name her. Kiara did. She told me the name she wanted to call the baby, all I did was to call her that when she was born.” He muttered grumpily, but I could see his reddened eyes and knew that he had cried.
“Oh! I didn’t know.” I murmured, resigning and going to Kiara, who was all smiles on her bed.
“Congratulations Kiara,” I clapped my hands noiselessly and she laughed.
“I can’t believe it. Is that what motherhood feels like?” She asked me, and I held her hands, a slow ritual to welcome her into the joys of motherhood.
