These sudden kind words made Ranita’s eyes well up with tears.
She held back her tears, reached out to touch Ayaan’s soft face, and said hoarsely, “Okay! Ayaan, you’re really a brave child.”
“Ayaan, Mommy has to say sorry to you! It was Mommy’s fault, Mommy lost you.”
“I also let you get hurt.” Ranita knew Ayaan understood, so she continued in a softer tone, “If you’re feeling unwell or scared, you can tell Mommy and Daddy. We’ll always be by your side to protect you.”
Ayaan nodded, “Mommy, I know.”
“Who are you talking to?” Brendon suddenly came in and, seeing them lying together, reached out to pick up the little ball of fluff, “Didn’t I say not to wake up Mommy?”
Ayaan pouted, “But I want to talk to Mommy.”
“But your mommy is very tired. Can’t you let her rest a bit more?” Brendon said with a raised eyebrow, looking quite mischievous.
And Ayaan really believed him, “Alright, then I’ll rest too.”
Brendon carried Ayaan back to his hospital bed, then sat down beside Ranita on the couch. When she had lain down, the couch’s corner sank a bit when he sat down.
“Are you feeling better?”
“Yes!” Ranita had slept for a while and felt much more energetic, “Thank you for taking care of Ayaan.”
“Why don’t you go rest for a bit, and I’ll watch over him.” As Ranita was about to get up, Brendon held her down, “Don’t get up. Let me apply some medicine for you first.”
“What?” Ranita was still a bit groggy as she looked at Brendon. He pressed her leg down, his long fingers gently patting her knee, “Did you forget you’re injured too?”
“How could you be so silly!”
Previously, Ranita was so worried about Ayaan that she fell asleep and completely forgot about her own knee injury.
After being reminded, Ranita took a closer look at her knee and noticed a red patch. She had applied some medicine earlier, so there was a light yellow layer covering the wound.
Brendon’s movements were gentle. After applying the medicine, he helped her stick on some bandages and then pulled her pants down carefully, “Alright!”
Ranita felt that the current Brendon was truly charming and special.

Brendon grunted softly, “Just verbal praise? Any award for me?”
Brendon asked a practical question.
Ranita raised her eyebrows and asked through gritted teeth, “What do you want?”
“For example…” Brendon laughed with squinted eyes, pointing to the corner of his lips, “How about a kiss?”
His voice wasn’t loud, but Ayaan still heard it.
Ayaan peeked over, “Wow! Is Mommy going to kiss Daddy?”
“But the book says only people in love can kiss. Are you going to be with Daddy?”
Ranita blushed at this.
She glared angrily at Brendon, “Don’t talk nonsense! Look at you, you’re corrupting the child!”
Ayaan giggled, covering his chubby eyes, “Mommy, go ahead, I won’t peek!”
Seeing that Ayaan was so cooperative, Brendon gave him a thumbs-up, then leaned in to Ranita, lowering his voice, “You see, your son is fully supporting you! Come on!”
Come on for what!
Ranita looked at Brendon with a pout, wanting to slap him. The next moment, Brendon leaned in and kissed her, then laughed as if he had pulled a prank.
Then, when she thought everything was over, Brendon said very seriously, “Ranita, marry me, will you?”
Ranita was surprised, “What are you doing?”
“It was my fault before, making you leave me in sadness. Now, can I have a chance to start over?” Brendon paused, “We’ll have a grand wedding, and from now on, we’ll be a family of three, forever together.”
Admittedly, when Brendon said this, Ranita was moved instantly.
This man in front of her is the one she has loved for many years. He wants the three of them to be together forever, and she couldn’t refuse him, so she nodded, “Okay.”
The moment Ranita agreed, Brendon was overjoyed. He hugged her tightly, as if this moment would last forever.
